Location. Comfy bed. Parking outside (though this is only if available). Clean room. Nice bedding.
For me it was just the smell of cigarette smoke. It was quite strong in the ground floor. I put a pillow by my door to stop it permeating the room. I have a sensitive nose. Some people might not be bothered by this in which case I'd recommend the place as it is clean and comfortable. But it was an issue for me.

The host was extremely welcoming. The hotel and our room (Room 4) was clean and tidy. Good sized room and bed. Very comfortable indeed. Excellent location for exploring Ross-on-Wye (town centre and river walks) and Symonds Yat. Excellent value for money. The pub is immediately opposite offering superb dining and breakfast (the pub is not part of the White House) but it is important to note as an excellent place to dine out and also for breakfast.
