The Meranggi

Incredible! Our villa, with a private pool was outstanding! Perfect area away from the chaos of the centre to relax and unwind in the comfort of your own very spacious villa. The breakfast was lovely, the staff were attentive, and our stay was comfortable.

A good location, however, be prepared to travel into Ubud centre- Grab scooter is probably easiest as traffic can be bad. This is not necessarily a flaw because of the tranquillity of the location, but something to be aware of! Dogs can also bark during the night, but it adds to the more rural charm.

The layout is perfect for a couple. No bugs or lizards spotted in sight although they were around. The staff was welcoming and caring to our particular need of vegetarian diet. They were prompt and helpful.

Didnt have toiletries or shaving kits provided.

The size of the property including the garden and the pool area is large. It has a rustic charm with Balinese village feel. Good privacy as the property has high fence yet it doesn't give a confining feeling. A short ride from Ubud town centre. Very friendly and helpful staff.

There are a fair bit of ants at the bath and dining area, I had to ask for insecticide from the staff. The bath tub is stained and somewhat dirty. The dining area floor is slightly caved in, and one of the wooden steps at the front entrance to the room balcony looks rotten & flimsy. If the property can take care of these minor issues, it will make The Meranggi a great place to stay.

The villa is in a good quiet location. Generous breakfast and everyday room service. The staff is friendly and will help you in any situation you might got. They also provide transfer and scooter rent.

The property itself could use some improvements. The pictures do not show the actual state of the villa. There are countless holes in whole villa (floor, walls, ceiling), which is known by the hosts and through where insects and small animals can get in the room even with the doors and windows closed. I don't mind the wildlife to be in the garden, but not in the room. Closing the door or lights in this situation doesn't help much. Also the spider webs or dry insects hanging around the villa, garden and bathroom could be removed. We also couldn't put our clothes in the wardrobe because of the sand (-ish texture) in every corner. All this summed up made our stay not as pleasent as expected.
