Stunning location and brilliant service!

Communication, service, friendliness, very nice view, nice food. Very atmospheric interior design. We had a room at the street level with a nice balcony. Breakfast was very special and tasty.

This is an historic building in a medieval city. It’s not a modern, corporate bland business, it’s the home of a Berat family. The room was large and full of character. The food was incredible and generous. Our hosts were friendly and helpful.

You need to know that medieval streets are cobbled and steep. Be prepared to carry your luggage

The accommodation was centrally located in a charming old building which hosts both overnight guests and visitors stopping for the bar/restaurant. The view from the breakfast area was lovely and the actual breakfast delicious and super generous. The room was clean and the bed large and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was great too.

Unfortunately the day we arrived the dedicated parking for the accommodation was full, not sure if they were taken up by other guests or staff that work in the restaurants located below the rooms. Either way, parking in Berat appears to be fairly limited so if you’re coming in a rental car have a plan B. After a long drive, the first 90 min of our arrival consisted of walking up and down the steep walkway to the room looking for guidance/assistance, unfortunately on this day there was none. In the end we parked in another hotel parking under the threat of being towed away. Several hours later we nabbed some on-street parking and never moved the car again (cancelled winery lunch as we were so concerned). The other things to note: If you are booking the double room the view is mostly obscured by a disused chimney. Not sure if that is clear in the listing and we just missed it. Also a washing machine is available but it will be done by the staff and returned for hanging out in the room.
