It was helpful to have a beach cart and chairs provided. This property is very outdated though and could use a lot of upgrades. Shower pressure was horrible in some of the bathrooms. My daughter got a huge splinter in her toe walking up the deck steps. Bikes were advertised to come with the house; however we were told once we got there and asked about them that they were no longer coming with the property. There were a few things in need of repair which we had to call to report. We were not super impressed but also not completely disappointed.

Only complaint we would have is it still needs a deep clean as bathroom shower drains needed cleared of hair. Crumbs of food under/in furniture and beds. Outside pool area was great. I would remove the bikes from the advertising as bike were not present.

This property by far was the best location and when getting 6 kids {3-10 yrs} to the beach and all the paraphernalia needed for the day, proximity made a difference.
The property included a spacious backyard with activities for all ages. Our little ones enjoyed the swings very much.

There was a minor problem with the kitchen faucet (replaced during our stay), a mid-floor commode flush (required plunging), and we got some splinters from the pool deck. The pool and hot tub were nice. The deck was spacious and comfortable, with seating for everyone. Inside, besides being clean, the details were good. The wall and floor finishes were updated and nice. The main level enough seating for 14 to eat or watch tv together. I love the 3rd floor layout. The private offset captains watch room was used frequently. The raised offset recreation/dining area was used to play board games. This house is in a great spot right by a beach access. Shopping was close. We had a great time!!

Reviewer Comments: Sunny days, a warm ocean, magnificent sunsets and a very comfortable, well-equipped home with easy beach access gave us a great multi-generational vacation. Salt & Light has not only an open area where we can all gather, but also separate spaces where small groups can get away.
Our only disappointment is the folks who precede us seem to like it just as much and we could only get the home for one week this year.

This year the ice maker was broke but the owner had bagged ice for us and even left a grocery store gift card! So sweet! Home is right by beach access ramp which is nice when you have kids is tow. The three families have seen the kids grow from little kids to mature adults. The crowd on the beach this year was at its largest, kinda felt like a Jersey shore week, but certainly better because its at the OBX. Wine and margarita glasses where hard to come by, one of our families brought a supply of Margarita glasses which made it all good. We enjoyed ourselves very much.

This home is very clean. The beds are very comfortable and the bedrooms offer plenty of space to unpack and move around. All of the adults enjoyed having their own bathroom as well! The living room furniture could certainly be more comfortable (wicker), however this didn't effect our level of satisfaction much since we spent most of our time outside on the beach, having coffee on the deck, swimming in the pool/hot tub, playing horseshoes, shuffleboard, volleyball, bike riding, etc. They thought of everything! When indoors we enjoyed doing puzzles on the table in the ships watch, and the children watched a couple movies in the sunroom. The kitchen had everything we needed, and was an easy spacious room for plenty of chefs to move around in at once. The refrigerator and dishwasher down to the toaster and coffeemaker were all nice name brand appliances. We even made waffles in the waffle maker one morning! Again, these homeowners have thought of everything! Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed on our group. The location to the walk on beach access was right across the street from the house. The children were able to safely go to and from the house and beach. We can't wait to return to the Outer Banks and we'd be more than happy to stay at Salt n Light when we do!
