The villa was perfect for our group of 8 adults. Beautiful spot with lots of room for everybody. Lots to see and do, and we were well looked after by Lucio, Irma and Philamena. Comfortable beds too.

Our family had a marvelous time at the villa. The location was supreme (the most beautiful views) and we could not have asked for more hospitable hosts. Lucio and Mihaela attended to any of our needs: helping us take our bags to the villa, bringing us pastries the first and last morning of our trip, purchasing groceries for us upon our arrival (especially loved the fresh fruit), and most special was the lovely four course meal they served us. Our family of 6 had plenty of room to spare and we enjoyed the special amenities like the hot tub and ping pong table - even during the cooler weather. We slept comfortably every night as it was quiet and had all the comforts of home. The town of Massa Lubrense surpassed any and all of our expectations. The people were all so warm and friendly, offering gifts everywhere we went. We loved our meal at Il Cantuccio and the cafes were all charming with great espresso and pastries. Casa Gaetano also provided us with Joseph - a private driver. Joseph had the most wonderful spirit and gave great recommendations across our trip. We used him to travel to and from Naples as well as day trips to the Almalfi Coast and Pompeii/Vesuvius. Our favorite part was going to Mass on Palm Sunday with the beautiful service and music. We look forward to our next visit at the villa. Perfecto!

There were 13 of us with ages ranging from 5-75, with a teenager, young adults and a few middle aged in the middle. The house was the perfect size, with lovely rooms and terraces to come together to have dinner and play games in the evening. The view was gorgeous and we loved spending time around the pool. It really was a home from home, with every kitchen utensil you could need, hairdryers in every bedroom and plenty of towels for the pool and bathrooms. Lucio, Michela, Philomena and Carlo's wife were so kind and thoughful, always easy to contact for any advice. We really appreciated the fresh pastries delivered by Lucio and the Limoncello as a goodbye gift. The walk from the road to the house is steep, but my 75 year old parents managed it a few times a day. Thank you for the hospitality and hard work x

Our stay in Massa Lubrense was the perfect vacation. My family enjoyed the lovely location in a small village near Sorrento. We mostly stayed at the villa with the view, pool, football and ping pong that kept us happy. But we could always walk to the village for groceries, shopping, water or GELATO which was a daily occurance.

I wish there was a way to give more than 5 stars, what a destination, property and host! First, the property is stunningly beautiful, has excellent amenities, and is very functional for a bigger group with multiple families. We enjoyed morning coffee or happy hours from several patios around the property, or around the pool at sunset. The pool and hot tub were well used by the 4 kids in our group (6-12). I can’t say enough about the host and the staff that came by. Handy and responsive. They even arrived at our extended check out time to help with our bags. This on top of several thoughtful items left in the kitchen or on the doorstep for breakfast in the morning. For our group of two families, this place worked perfectly. Highly recommend. Only point of awareness is that there is a steep hill up to the house from the main road, just something to consider for those that have trouble with that sort of thing, not a big deal for our group including the six year old.

Highly recommended moments are the sunset from the pool and dinner on the first floor terrace, especially the night we entrusted Lucio with a pizza dinner his wife made for us. Authentic and delicious pizzas. As aspects to be improved, the sofa bed in the tower should be replaced because it is very uncomfortable to sleep on. The wifi also needs to be improved: the one in the tower has very little coverage and the one in the house has a little more, but the password is very long. Warning to guests: you reach the front door by a very steep and narrow street, I advise parking on the street below. The problem is if you arrive loaded with luggage

Rented this beautiful villa it was better than the online pictures. So clean. Carlo kept us up to date and answered questions promptly even got my transfers sorted. A great start and it just got better, 10 of us stayed as it was my husband's birthday Lucio is fantastic and so attentive his family catered for the birthday meal 17 of us in total as relatives from Naples came, a beautiful meal and birthday cake his daughter Lucia made. Also highly recommend the pizza party as well best pizza we've ever eaten!!. The villa is a short walk to shops and everything you need. We took the bus to Sorrento a great place to visit. Lucio was waiting on our arrival if you need anything he is always there to help. We can't thank him, Anna, Lucia and Manuel enough. We will be back.

Inside it is a large old villa with bathrooms that have most recently been updated. It is a good jumping off point for Positano, Capri and Sorrento which we visited and loved. There were a few things to consider that could have made the stay better. The mattresses are not very comfortable, the AC units need to be serviced (the one in the main house leaked and basically stopped working which was fine bc we didn’t spend much time there) and there are a lot of ants! I found ants in our bed several nights which was disconcerting and awoke to find one on my face. I’m sure this is just because the house is older.

There were 5 adults and 5 children in our group and this beautiful villa was more than large enough to accommodate us. The villa itself is wonderful, spacious and very well equipped. Lucio was fantastic and so accommodating, we can recommend the pizza party, fabulous food and his family even made a cake for my 6 year old sons birthday! Masa Lubrense has some lovely local restaurants and shops, we were on holiday for my brothers wedding in sorrento which is only about 10 minutes away. We were glad we didn’t hire a car, the public transport was great and children travelled for free. Cannot recommend the villa enough we really enjoyed our stay here.

Perfect location for exploring the Amalfi Coast! The home is lovely and easily accommodates 10.(even more) Massa Lubrense is a charming town with very friendly locals. The caretaker Lucio was very attentive to details and responded any time we called. Would absolutely stay here again!!

Our stay in Massa Lubrense was everything we hoped for and more. Lucio, his English speaking assistant, and his beautiful family were great hosts. The Friday before we left he and his family prepared a gourmet meal including what we all decided was the best homemade lasagna we had ever eaten. Unfortunately my wife took a tumble on the narrow, dark road back to the villa one night so we caution future visitors to be extra careful and to bring a light of some sort. All in all our visit was a dream come true and we highly recommend this location to anyone with a fairly large family group. Ideally, eight people although it could accommodate a few more. The Villa is very nice with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths. The town was fun to shop and had good restaurants. There is a bus station in town with good travel options. We rented cars but the buses were a better option as the roads are crowded and very curvy. We had Lucio and his wife do 2 dinners for us and they were delicious. The pool and hot tub were great after busy days of site seeing

Seven of us spent a week in this fabulous villa. The photos on the website do not do it justice. It’s extremely spacious and would easily accommodate a much larger group. The roof top terraces are a wonderful place to sit and take it in the spectacular views. The only downside is the kitchen, which is on the small side, but there are lots of wonderful restaurants to eat out in nearby. The caretaker, Lucio, was fantastic and he organised a breakfast for us one day and also a Pizza Party. We were glad we didn’t hire a car as the road up to the villa is steep and narrow. Instead we used the local taxi company, Persico, who looked after us wonderfully. They organised a half day trip to Pompeii, as well as transfers to and from the airport. We can’t recommend this Villa enough!

We had a wonderful 2 weeks with the family. Good public transportation for all of the Sorrento area. Some of the family took a 8 hour boat trip from the local marina. You can walk to Massa Lubrense in two minutes. We went every day to pick up a few supplies! All-all, a great trip

We are a large Family of 8. The town was perfect, quiet and not touristy. The House was as advertised with plenty of space. Lucio and his family were great hosts, they came to prepare a pizza party for our daughters 15th Birthday. They also provided great recommendation for the various day trips (local beach and boat tour). Thanks again for a great vacation.

Our family of 10 -- grandparents to grandchildren -- loved our stay at the villa the first week of July. Since the "caveats" are few, I'll get those out of the way first: the kitchen is small, the driveway up the hill is steep and narrow (though we drove our rental car up and down carefully multiple times), there are stairs, and...well, that's it. The villa has a wonderfully spacious layout, with separated bedrooms and bathrooms that gave our three family units plenty of space and privacy. Views over the orchards to the sea and sunsets were soothing and added to the sense of privacy at the villa even though there is another home next door. Everyone, kids in particular, enjoyed the small above-ground pool, the refreshingly cool temperature of which was a hit at day's end. We quickly came to consider our daily short walks to the small village center for food and other wants to be a part of our adventure and enjoyed the growing recognition and courtesies from shop owners over the course of the week. We hired an all-day boat tour to Capri at the small marina, walked to the rocky shore to swim, and hiked along the trails above the villa. Making the entire adventure more enjoyable was the attentive and gracious care from the the villa manager, Lucio, assisted from time to time by his son and wife, all of whom we became very fond of by the time of departure. One night Lucio and his family prepared a pizza party for us, from the villa's outdoor oven, that generated "best pizza ever" remarks from most of our family (including me, who grew up in New Jersey). The setting and local wine perhaps had something to do with that. One more caveat, offered hesitantly, is that the villa might be a bit of a challenge for children under 6 years old (though our youngest was 7 and she did fine). Ciao, PK

When we arrived at the villa, my husband couldn’t stop crying. He was overwhelmed by the enormous beauty surrounding us. 12 people in our group ranging in age from 19 months to 60 years. Plenty of room for everyone. Other reviews about the villa, the adorable town of Massa Lubrense, the helpful hosts, and the beautiful views from the terrace-are not exaggerations. We couldn’t have hoped for more.

The villa was wonderful, more than enough room for 8 people. The outdoor spaces were all perfectly planned. The town of Massa Lubrense was perfect, not too small or over crowded. We were all very happy we decided to stay in Massa Lubrense instead of Sorrento. Filomena & Victorio were the caretakers of the villa & a darling couple. Some very special memories were made by all!

Potential to be a great villa. Location is good if you like quiet with short walk into a small town. It's just tired and isn't of the quality of other ones we've rented. On top of that the swimming is not heated as listed and that was an important part of the search. It is very small and also shaded by olive trees so doesn't get the chance to get warm. Young children wouldn't go into it first few days. Wife wouldn't go in at all. Electric gate didn't work for the entire stay so if we went out the property was not secure. We had lots of ants in the house particularly in the kitchen and main bathroom. Don't really want to be spraying ant killer every day in the kitchen. Internet didn't work in the house when we got there. Philomena and her husband are great though.

All the glowing reviews are warranted. This place is so very special! I had extremely high hopes for this week, and they were surpassed. The villa is a dream come true, and Massa Lubrense is the ideal location for exploring this magical part of the world. The town is a real Italian town, not just a tourist stopover. The very short walk there leads to wonderful markets, shops, and restaurants, and all are very reasonably priced. Bus service is excellent, and we used the recommended charter boat service for an unforgettable day exploring Capri. Filomena made a wonderful dinner one night, and we took advantage of the grill and kitchen on other nights. We took the high speed ferry from Sorrento to Naples for a day to explore this wonderful city and the train to amazing Pompeii. Thank you, Carlo! We will be back.

Thank goodness we found this place! Our vacation vision was a nice, private villa in a small town where we could walk to food stores and restaurants, and access a few “tourist attractions” without too much wasted time or trouble. That is exactly what we got here, even though we originally thought we wanted to be in Positano or Praiano. We visited those beautiful places, but for our taste you couldn’t beat this villa in the small, relatively quiet village of Massa Lubrense. The villa was physically exactly “as advertised”. But even better, it was very easy to get comfortable and feel “at home" there, in all the many rooms and outdoor spaces. The bedrooms were comfortable, the bathrooms modern and clean, the living and dining areas plentiful, kitchen nice and functional and all the outside spaces, on many levels, gorgeous. Carlo gave us the name of a local driving service, Persico, and the English speaking owner, Nino, picked us up as planned at the Naples airport. He gave us a beautiful drive and lots of local information during the one hour trip to the villa. Mrs. Filomena and her husband met us at the bottom of the driveway, carried our luggage to the villa on the hill, gave us a tour of the property and made us feel very welcome, despite the language barrier. They also came and cleaned the pool and maintained the patios each morning during our stay, but kept a very low profile, only there if you needed them-which we never did since everything was well maintained and worked properly. The owner. Carlo, responded quickly to our one question, and followed up to make sure everything was OK-which it was. The villa was so beautiful and the view so spectacular there was really no need to go anywhere else, but we did. Shopping in the small shops and eating in the few restaurants in Massa Lubrense were exactly the “local flavor” we had hoped for, and the food was great. Evening sunsets at the villa were heavenly so we did not investigate any night life, so we can’t speak to that. We also toured the Amalfi coast one day, and Pompeii another, both on private tours arranged by Nino at Persico-worth every penny. We took the bus to Sorrento and then the ferry to Capri one day, and the bus to Sorrento again to shop and eat another day. All great experiences. If we ever go back to this area, and we hope we can, we wouldn’t even think to consider another villa to stay in-Villa Torre del Giglio is THE place for us.
