Had a great time with our family. However, the neighborhood is a little busy and congested for us. Exterior of the property was a little messy. Communication with the owner was great. She was always quick to get back to us.

I did an extended stay rental at this property, planned for 3 months as I was working in the area and it was the only affordable property in the area at the time, although it was 40 min from my place of work, over 1 hour during snow fall due to lack of plowing/salting in the area. I only lasted 3 weeks due to the below details. The pictures may look nice, but in reality, a lot of work is needed and the upkeep has been minimal/non-existent. The carpets were so dirty that I vacuumed upon arrival and it filled the canister. The carpets were also falling apart. Both living room chairs and couch were broken. The chairs had metal springs sticking out through the cushions and the side. The wii game station didn't work and most of the game disc's were scratched and unusable. Things were just thrown in closets and drawers. The front electric baseboard heat did not work and the cord for the lamp was actually melted through. The pots and pans provided were coated with food/cooking spray from previous renters and were bent from misuse/overuse. Although this was a VRBO, the mattresses were so uncomfortable that I actually went out and bought a mattress to sleep on. The backdoor leading off the guest bedroom to porch was corroded from the weather and difficult to open. There was a broken split in half busted kitchen table on the back porch. The property is located towards the back of arrowhead lake where there is only gravel roads, no paved roads, which means there is no plowing or salting. I have slipped and almost fallen multiple times and it was difficult to even get my 4 wheel drive vehicle out of the drive way. There was a busted grill and a broken glass vase found in the snow leading up to the front porch. The 2nd floor bathroom is very small, with little room to move around. With snow, lack of plowing, and lack of care of the property by the owner, I decided to end my stay early. Unfortunately, the owner stated that I could cancel but would not get any of my money back. She agreed to give it back only if someone else would rent for those days. Of course, no one rented, so I lost several thousand. I advise any future renters to be careful. VRBO was willing to work with me and asked the owner to refund my money, but the owner would not. Renter beware.

The first thing any future guests of the cozy chalet will experience is the premier hosting from Kate and Steve. They are responsive, understanding, helpful and want to ensure you enjoy your stay in their home. While our stay may not have been perfect, I would say that it was due to elements outside of our host's control. I'll first talk about the property as that may be the most important aspect. The home is located in the Arrowhead Lake Community, which boasts three pools and several beaches amongst other amenities. More to come on this later. It is tucked within a wooded setting and there is a large deck with built-in seating as you walk into the home. There are two bedrooms upstairs, both with queen beds, and one full bath upstairs as well. Each room is large in size and one of the bedrooms has access to a deck that offers additional outside seating. Downstairs is one bedroom, with two twin beds, and another full bathroom. We found the kitchen to be fully stocked with any cooking instrument we needed, and also towels and linens were provided. This was a big plus because it meant less that we had to pack. Overall, the home was in great condition and if there was ever a question or a need, Kate and Steve responded immediately. As mentioned, the home is located in Arrowhead Lake Community. It is actually within walking distance to one of the pools (Minisink) however during our stay, that pool had been closed. Which is unfortunate because it was still August. This meant that we needed to drive to the next available pool, either Chocotaw or Island. We found the Island pool more to our liking, however, we struggled with the overzealous lifeguards that closed the pool at the thought of thunder for a full 30 minutes. This made vacationing quite difficult because we were left to the whims of the weather and the lifeguards to determine if we could use the pools. While the beaches remained an option, our children did not find them as desirable as the pools. There is a game room as part of the amenities, however, with COVID you can imagine the number of people in there on rainy days. It has two pool tables and one air hockey table as well as one older gaming console where 2 people can play games such as Pac-man, Donkey Kong, 1942, etc. Ultimately I would say that the community ended up bringing down our experience as opposed to complementing it. If I was looking for a winter escape, this Chalet would be perfect! Thank you again, Kate and Steve!

Our family really enjoyed our stay in this house. The house itself was very clean and well maintained, and the owner was very responsive and provided really outstanding customer service.

My family and I had a short weekend getaway and this property was perfect in every way. Great location to Big Boulder / Jack Frost. The house was clean and cozy and the fireplace kept us nice and toasty. Would definitely recommend this property and the owners were excellent on communication and making sure we had everything we needed during our stay.

We choose this property because is pet friendly. The house is excellent, super clean, had all we needed. Kate is very nice and super host. She check on us and very other day if all was good and if we needed anything. The location is perfect within a gated community and about 20 minutes to Camelback and Jack Frost. There is plenty of restaurants and a grocery store within minutes. Definitely will visit again. It snowed the day of our checkin and the driveway was with snow, Kate had a plower in the property within 5 minutes!!!! Amazing . Recommended for family with pets....

This was an amazing house! My mother in law is from Brazil and this was her first time in the US and I couldn’t think of a better place to show her the beauty of the Poconos. But the greatest thing about this house was the owners. Kate and Steve were so incredibly helpful and they truly went out of their way to make our trip memorable. I can honestly say if you rent this house you will not be disappointed.

This was the perfect getaway weekend. The house was welcoming and quite cozy with the fireplace. Great Iocation as well.

Were able to celebrate Christmas with my family thanks to this great house and the graciousness of the host. An extra table and chairs were brought in so we could have a sit-down dinner together and the owner went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. House is well maintained, well equipped, comfortable and cozy. Would definitely stay again.
