Rien de tel que de passer du temps sur le lac Big Glen à Glen Arbor! Orchard Oaks Cottage est situé en retrait de la route sur un immense terrain boisé, ce qui en fait un endroit idéal pour emmener les enfants. L’eau est de l’autre côté de la rue mais a un accès très facile avec une belle fa��ade de sable et un quai (quai enlevé début septembre). Maison de style chalet pittoresque avec une ambiance vintage dispose de 3 chambres (une est une chambre de style loft) et 1. 5 salles de bains. Au niveau principal, il y a 2 BD avec chacun un lit Queen. Le BD à l'étage dispose de 2 lits gigognes (4 lits jumeaux). La mezzanine a un lit jumeau. Une abondance de fenêtres laisse entrer la vue magnifique sur le lac et le soleil. TV à écran plat / DVD dans le salon + câble et WIFI. Votre animal de compagnie bien maniéré est la bienvenue. Nous sommes désolés, mais les feux en plein air ne sont pas autorisés sauf dans le barbecue. Quai enlevé fin septembre

This was our second stay at this property. Beds were comfortable & big plus to have 11⁄2 baths. Downstairs bathroom was nicely updated btw visits. Walking/biking distance to downtown Glen Arbor.

The cottage is comfortable and cozy. There are more collectibles than necessary and the place feels a bit cluttered for a rental. The beds are comfortable and things functioned properly it was nostalgic and cute. Could use a little clear out to feel more spacious.

The house was as described. No real surprises. Price was quite high for a weekend trip. The furniture all needs to be updated, but the main bathroom was really nice. Good location, approximately 1.5 miles from downtown Glen Arbor. I'll probably look to stay elsewhere next time.

The house is somewhere I would consider again, however I would definitely empty it out and do a complete overhaul of all the stuff. Very cluttered and dated, it was like everyone's grandparents' stuff was still there We had numerous extra guests in the walls scurrying about, a good cleaning is in order.

The kitchen is small but functional, and had everything we needed. The screened in porch where the only table is, is dank and a bit depressing so we ate outside on the lovely deck. Glen Arbor Sleeping Bear Trip

The location was perfect but the photos of the property are misleading. The property did have a dock and direct lake access but the photos made it appear that the cottage was right on the lake not across the street. Some of the furniture looks like it was from the 60's but it was functional. Coffee pot needs to be replaced. It brewed the coffee very slowly and coffee was like water even though we put in double the amount of coffee than normal. Other than that, the kitchen was reasonably stocked. Cottage had a musty odor from not having the heat on. It did dissipate after the heat was on for a time but never really went away. One of the beds had dog hair and sand in both the sheets and bedspread. We washed both before using this room. Basically, it was a roof over our heads that met basic needs.

We have been vacationing annually in the Glen Arbor area for over ten years & Orchard Oaks is one of our favorite pet friendly places to stay. Located right on M-22, it is dog walking distance to downtown. We really enjoyed teaching our lab to dock dive into Big Glen. The beds were comfortable, which is not something we can say about most of the properties we have rented. However, it was definitely owner's cottage, not their house--meaning it is rustic. We would rent this property again & recommend it to others.

Compared to other rentals we have had, this cottage was below average. There were no issues with the beds, furniture, TV or Wi-Fi.
However, one significant problem was that there was no indoor eating area. There is a screened in porch attached to the kitchen with a picnic table and benches which serves as the eating area. This was very inconvenient on most mornings because it was cold or when it was windy.
The description of the cottage says it is set back from the road. However it was only about 150 ft from the road. Most significantly the street address we were given was South Glen Lake Road. While this is accurate we were not told that S. Glen Lake Rd is really M-22. There is a lot of traffic all day and, given the distance from the road, it is very noisy. Sitting on the deck was very unpleasant due to the noise. Because M-22 has a 45mph speed limit, walking our dog was nerve wracking. The only place to walk the dog was in the bike lanes and with the amount of traffic we were never able to go very far.
Lastly the description said there was nice sandy frontage. There was no sandy frontage as in the description. The greenery goes right up to the water’s edge. There is a small deck with 2 chairs and a very long dock. The lake bottom near the shore is very rocky. To get to the sandy area you have to go to the end of the dock (there is a ramp to get in the water). The water is waist deep there. The “beach” is inappropriate for young children and small dogs.

The rental was the perfect location for anyone wanting to be on Glen Lake. The dock is amazing and the depth of the water is perfect for the boat. A mooring device was provided and sufficient. Orchard Oaks is one of the most beautiful locations on the lake!
The rental itself had a “cabin like” feel giving it a true up north feel. Those with allergies may want to look elsewhere as a few of us ended up with our allergy symptoms acting up when in the home for long periods of time and then subsiding when out of the home for a period of time. When the weather is warm, you want to bring fans as there are very few provided that worked well. Although there is no air conditioning, the heat was very tolerable with appropriate fans running.
We had an excellent time and we were able to share the experience with two well behaved dogs which is always a plus!
The rental itself had a “cabin like” feel giving it a true up north feel. Those with allergies may want to look elsewhere as a few of us ended up with our allergy symptoms acting up when in the home for long periods of time and then subsiding when out of the home for a period of time. Our only issue was with one of the heating vents not working, but there was enough around the house to warm entire home without it. Also, would have loved for the fireplace to have been working. Cottage review
We enjoyed our stay at Orchard Oaks cottage. The photos in this listing are fairly representative of the property, particularly the indoor photos. But one important feature that is not clear in the listing or the pictures is that the cottage is very close to the road. Although there is a lovely large deck on the front of the cottage it’s hard to enjoy time there because of the traffic, which is both visually & audibly distracting.
However, there is easy lake access across the street (& the lake is gorgeous) with a long dock & a small deck. That area is much better suited for an outdoor hang out than any space by the cottage. It is worth noting that the shoreline is grassy (not sandy) and the lakebed is rocky at the shoreline. But the dock reaches far enough out into the lake for sandy bottom access.

We had a great time. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate it that’s Michigan for you. We were able to enjoy Glen Arbor, have dinner and drinks in town, and enjoyed the cabin and lake as much as we could. Not to mention nearby rivers for fishing made for plenty to do to enjoy ourselves.

This home is in a great location, easy to get to downtown, Sleeping Bear, Traverse, Suttons Bay. The lake access is across M22, a 45 mph busy road. The dock was nice and there's a small platform with 2 chairs but no beach and no yard by the house, either (just sand and weeds and driveway). There are about 20 steps to get down to the dock, so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. It's older and VERY musty, like many old cabins are. If you have allergies I would not recommend it. There are beds to accommodate 9 and the upstairs beds are newer and therefore smelled a bit better, but the 2 downstairs bedrooms are very musty. The furniture is worn, couch was broken, and generally it felt like the place could use a thorough dusting. For the price I would've rather gotten a place without lake access and gone to the beach, especially since the Glen Lake access is good for swimming but not lounging. I didn't need help from the rental company but they were prompt in all communication prior to our stay and provided the information and details we needed.

We enjoyed our the location and view in this place. It is placed in a beautiful and convenient location. Lots of activities around the area. The house has 2 queen beds downstairs and an attic with bunk beds. Beds upstairs aren't recommended for adults. They are small and have plastics all over that makes them really uncomfortable. It also has 1.5 bathrooms that you should consider when booking. I wouldn't stay in this property again as it has a great amount of very Old books in libraries in the living room and the bedroom where I was sleeping that made most of our guests sick. It smells very dusty inside. Not suitable for alergic or asmathic people.

The home was exactly as described; no surprises! It was clean, great location, and the water had easier access than I expected. We easily slid two kayaks down to the water, and carried them back up, without any problems. All in all, a perfect trip! Our dogs enjoyed it too!

We wanted a few days of R & R up north. This is our second rental through you. The house near Glen Arbor provided a great location for our local day trips. The house was inviting and dog friendly, just enough property for them. Since it's across the street from the lake (with access) and the dock was out of the water, I don't know how it would be as a summer rental. But for our fall getaway, it was great.

Lovely rustic cottage reminding me of us of times spent Up North Years ago. Thankful owners allowed us to bring our golden retrievers along! We shared a great fishing weekend with our adult children, location made it easy to travel and see the area.

This home was located in a nice wooded lot across the street from Glen Lake. Overall the home was very nice, plenty of space to relax, nice bedrooms, awesome screened in porch and located minutes away from everything we enjoy about Glen Arbor. Overall a great place to stay.

Absolutely loved this quaint home. I will admit to feeling it was over priced....still do...but putting that aside: lovely area, beautiful lake, comfortable home. Everything we needed was there in the house. It felt like I was visiting the family cottage.
