Within easy walking distance to the Cathedral area and riverside. The apartment has an interesting layout of floors with two lounge areas connected by a spiral staircase overall feeling of space and the lighting/ mood is versatile. It was generally clean and warm. There is a lift for convenience.
The garage entry has an electric roller door, the cill of which up-stands proud of the concrete floor to a height of almost 10 centimetres. This presents an uncomfortable and damaging obstacle that has to be driven over without choice. Our car has mud-flaps and a front one of them was fractured in the process. Access to the apartment is through many fire doors and stairways. The location is near to ‘student’ accommodation and was noisy at night due to late revellers.
Critical factors for our stay in particular are as follows: There was a surprising shortfall in kitchen equipment supplied. Some items were unmatched and/or not adequate in number or surprisingly missing - however, when notified to the host, these items were very speedily replaced in full. The upper bathroom fell short in many ways. Firstly, the water supply to the bath was impossibly slow and during our stay the cold tap ceased to supply any water. The shower was limited by supply and scolding without cold water. The shower screen bath seal was defective (creating puddles on the floor) and mouldy and the overall appearance in that bathroom was not up to the quality expected. Shower fittings were loose and sealant cracked/mouldy in spite of interim cleaning and a dripping basin tap.
Two surface lamps did not work and could not be rectified during our stay, although notified to the host.

The furniture, the 2 floors that gives space, the location in the center and close to the university. The wifi connection was very good. The kitchen was well equiped.
The smell of fried oil in the corridor and in the entrance and up to the first bedroom. The noise in the streets outside that can be heard from the upper bedroom, even if it was not too loud.

The apartment's location is perfect.
It's within walking distance of the city centre, next to lots of shops and cafes.
The Botanical gardens were only a 15/20 min walk up an incline, but was easy enough for my 6 and 2 yr olds.
We requested a travel cot, which they provided (thank you), and the apartment was a good temperature.
The size of the apartment was decent, and bed sizes were good.
The rental company were quick to respond to our queries.
You can't fault the location of this property, you'd be hard pushed to find one more central!
However, this is also this property's biggest downfall. The windows aren't good enough to stop the sound of drunken screams and singing, every night, from the local student population.

Great property. Only slight niggle was low hot water pressure. Took a while to get technique for shower

Excellent location for sightseeing in Durham.
Kitchen could have been better equipped - some basics were missing such as a teapot and wooden chopping board.

Sofas a little solid for my liking

Great location handy for town. Luxurious bedding and towels.
Useful to have a parking space in central Durham.
Really a 4 person apartment rather than 6. Only 4 dining chairs and only sofa seating for 4. Pull out sofa only made up for 1 person. Kitchen bin had not been emptied prior to ate arrival and was extremely smelly.
