The property was a great 2 bed unit not far from town centre and dog friendly

Really liked the apartment setup. Has facilities described.

Not dissimilar from caravan Park being in a Cabin. Very close to other residents in apartments. Was expecting an apartment but not in a complex/group setting. Broken window latch & bathroom door latch. Bathroom vent/fan broken & dirty.

Not spacious enough for group of 8

The bedroom cabinet top, fan, archways and skirting board was dusty & I have asthma set off by dust. The place was fully fuctional.

The kitchen window shade didn't open. The hot water kettle stopped working & the toaster died on the last day. I think there might be a short in the plug. The $50 extra charge for the dog wasn't stated UNTIL AFTER the nonrefundable payment was made. Seems like a shaddy contract tto me. The next door neighbor had a dog tethered to a thick chain. The dog was unable to move, barked and whined. There were piles of feces around him. I could not see water so I called RSPCA.

Check in was easy and the cupboard are full of food if you need it.

Shower had no pressure. Location - neighbouring houses were poorly maintained and neighbours loud during the night. Booked a 2 bedroom but was only given access to one, which wasn’t appropriate as we aren’t a couple. The kitchen had ants everywhere. Bed was very uncomfortable.

Overall it was a great change from a motel environment. All kitchen equipment was there including breakfast. Distance to Echuca was only 6 minutes and the beds were excellent. Place was very clean and tidy. Great for two or three nights stay

There was little water pressure for shower but was good hot water

It was clean and tidy inside and we left it the same. As is expected I had to clean up the yard after my own dogs but I didn't expect to have to clean up after dogs that had been there before us. I had to do this of course because I have no doubt that more would have been taken from my $500 bond on top of the $100 for my dogs. Lesson learned Shady Shackell, the only good thing to come out of visiting you.

This is a lesson in not doing anything spontaneously!! After looking up properties in Echuca I chose Sunny Shackell as it was "pet friendly". I didn't see in the fine print that "charges may apply" but even if I had I would have assumed that it would be a minimal fee. Imagine my horror when it was revealed after booking, that the price was $50 per dog. As I have two this was not cheap. I would have cancelled the booking immediately if I could but because it was the next day we were booked in, I had no cancellation option. After contacting the owner I was told "Its not my fault you didn't read the rules and anyway, Booking .com don't let us advertise the cost". How convenient I thought. But ok we're still going as it's our 41st wedding anniversary and I put it behind me. I was surprised when we got to the property that on the outside it didn't look like the photos and I suggest they need updating on the booking site. The unit was basic but quite nice and clean and tidy. In the evening we turned on the television but it kept pixelating and a message kept coming up to say that there was a problem with the antenna. There was also no information as to how to connect to the "free wifi" although I did look through the folder left on the table. Settling in for the night I was rudely woken from my half sleep by the anguished howling of a dog in the house behind the unit. This howling and barking went on for over an hour which as you can imagine was not pleasant. Up in the morning and off into town for breakfast. We had to buy it as we were extremely disappointed with what was offered. Three quarters of a loaf of bread in the freezer and margarine and butter which had been trawled through by countless others and nearly empty in the case of the margarine. One tiny tiny jar of jam, only enough for one and some vegemite. Also a selection of cereals to have with the lovely long life milk on offer, YUK!!
