Freddy and Val are wonderful hosts. They made sure to meet us promptly upon arrival and were greatly concerned when we were temporarily "lost" one night. That issue is why I only rate location as a 3. Navigating to the property in the dark is difficult for oldsters ( we are 83 and 70) but would probably be easier for younger guests. The location is wonderful for that evening breeze making it bug free. The use of all the beach gear including snorkel stuff for 4 was great. The house was very clean. My one recommendation is installation of another light in the kitchen area and maybe a bigger refrigerator if guests were staying longer and really wanted to cook! Thank you Freddy and Val

Casa Coqui Verde is not in town so transportation will be needed. We were greeted by two very friendly dogs and then stepped down to our loft(see pictures for this unit) and got our first glimpse of the ocean views. Loft itself was outfitted perfectly, anything needed for a day at the beach was at the ready. Nice open floor plan with lots of books, puzzles and games. Internet available and large screen TV worked flawlessly. On top of a hill, it was quiet and secluded. Dropping a pin when we first arrived made traveling back to Casa Coqui Verde after a day out an easy endeavor. Be mindful that Vieques's roads aren't interstate quality roads. With that in mind drive slowly and be on the look out for the horses and lizards that populate the island. Sun Bay Beach was very nearby and a little further drive on the same side of the island, the expansive Blue Beach was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Val and Freddy’s! The view from the deck is amazing and we saw two rainbows! My boys loved their sweet dogs and enjoyed driving our golf cart rental up and down the dirt road to their house. Val and Freddy were so kind and accommodating. This is a great place to set up as a family base for exploring Vieques. Val and Freddy made everything worry-free, and we were able to borrow all kinds of beach gear and supplies that we couldn't have brought with us. We visited 9 beaches in 3 days! The casa is a bit hard to get to, but it is worth it for the hospitality and the dogs.

We had an amazing stay at Val and Freddy’s property! The apartment is located very near (about 6 minute drive) from Isabell II, which has great restaurants and shops. It is nestled in a hilltop, so the views from the patio were lovely. There are two sweet doggies that live on the property that welcomed us home everyday (they are not barkers:). The house is about a 15 minute golf cart ride to Esperanza, the other main town that is close to lots of the beaches. The house was well appointed and had everything we needed, including beach towels, beach umbrella, snorkel gear for 4, camp chairs, coolers, boogie board, etc. this was great, as the small plane we took from San Jaun had strict baggage limits! Val and Freddy picked us up at the airport and dropped us at the golf cart rental then we followed them back to their house. They also stocked the fridge with essentials so we had food to eat the first evening and breakfast for a few days. They were super knowledgeable and suggested their favorite beaches and activities. We hope to return sometime soon! I am already missing the peace and quiet and beautiful (nearly empty) beaches!!

We were treated like family. Val and Freddy were always just a text away. They picked us up at the ferry, and in the morning Freddy drove me to pick up my golf cart I rented. He gave me a tour to get my whereabouts and help me understand where to go. Their place had everything: games, snorkeling gear, chairs, a hammock, DVDs, and more. More importantly than that, we felt cared for during every moment of our stay.

We were able to rent their vehicle for the week which was huge due to demand causing all other rentals to be booked. They picked us up from the ferry and even picked up some groceries for us since we were getting in late. The apartment is beautiful with an awesome view and far exceeded our expectations. Freddy and Val had everything we needed along with several recommendations of where to eat, where to shop and things to do which were all perfect. Val even set up an opportunity for my daughter to volunteer at the humane society because she knew my daughter loved dogs! They both were truly there to try to give us the best trip possible. I cannot thank them both enough and when we left it was like leaving new members of our family. We cannot wait to come back to Vieques and there is no doubt where and with whom we will be staying! Val & Freddy are the absolutely best!! They picked us up at the airport took us to the car rental place made sure we could make it around the island, not only that but it was our honeymoon and they had us a bottle of champagne and a card. Just the best. It was the communication ahead of time that sold me at first on how helpful they were. The place is cleaned beyond expectation, and everything we could want was at the rental. Just can't say enough good things about Val and Freddy, if you are going to Vieques this is the place you want to stay. The outdoor patio area is the best also. JUST FANTASTIC!! do yourself a favor and pick this place to stay.

Great place, very clean, very large. Can't beat a washer/dryer on a beach vacation. We used Freddy's car, which was perfect as their are limited options for car rentals during the high season; it was a beater, but perfect for hitting the beach and not worrying about leaving a little sand inside. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE VIEQUES!

We had a great stay in Vieques thanks to Freddy and Val. They were very hospitable. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We did some cooking for ourselves and everything we needed was available in the kitchen. We had access to Netflix and DVDs that were in the apartment. Freddy and Val met us at the ferry and allowed us to rent a vehicle from them which was much appreciated as there was nothing left for rent on the island. They even offered us the use of their personal vehicle! We stayed over the Christmas holidays, and Freddy whipped us up a batch of coquitos... a traditional Puerto Rican holiday drink. Delicious! They had two very friendly dogs on site. All in all, we had a very pleasant, hospitable stay. I would recommend Freddy and Val’s place and would revisit if I ever return to Vieques!

My family stayed for eight nights. We had the best time. The house has an amazing view. It’s quiet, has WiFi, and air conditioning. The house was clean, comfortable, and the outside shower was perfect for cleaning the beach off you. The patio was amazing for enjoying a dinner and relaxing. We can’t wait to come back. Both Val and Freddy were amazing. They welcomed us and picked us up from the ferry. We couldn’t have been better taken care of. Thank you both so much for making our vacation absolutely perfect.

We stayed for 4 nights in this apartment and would highly recommend this property. This spacious loft-style apartment was very clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a family of 5. (2 adults, 2 teenagers and a preteen). The kitchenette area is small but fully equipped with everything you'll need to cook your own meals, and there is also a gas grill for outside. Freddy and Val were wonderful hosts, very friendly, promptly answered emails, and offered us rides to and from the Ferry. They also had a vehicle that we rented. You'll definitely need a car to get around. There are enough ceiling fans, and we never needed the air conditioner, it was lovely to relax under the private gazebo and the kids enjoyed the hammock. The host really pays attention to details, there were enough bath towels, beach towels and snorkeling equipment for everyone. There's a basket with insect repellent and sunscreen. They have quite a extensive dvd collection, some board games and also books (novels and travel guides). Their two dogs, are friendly and well behaved, the kids loved them. We visited different beaches every day, Freddy and Val had some good suggestions on where to go, and we also did a bio bay tour which was really good, and definitely worth it. We had a wonderful time, and honestly have no complaints. Our security deposit was refunded within a day or two after checking out. Thank you Val and Freddy, should we ever come to Vieques again, we'll now who to rent from!

We decided to end our Puerto Rico honeymoon in Vieques. We couldn't have been happier with our decision. The location is perfect, secluded, and in the mountains. The apartment was filled with everything you need and if it wasn't (but it will be), Freddy and Val will get it for you. They have snorkel equipment, binoculars, bug spray and sunscreen, coolers, vehicles to rent from them, all the appliances you need should you choose to cook. There is a private outside area to sit and relax, drink, or even do some grilling. Outdoor shower area after you come back from the beach to rinse the sand off. Plenty of space for a family of four if needed. If privacy, peace and quiet is what you're looking for, then this place is for you. Plenty of reading material about the island and a ton of movies to watch if you decide not to explore this beautiful paradise called Vieques. The best part of this property is Val and Freddy. Val couldn't be any quicker to respond, offers many helpful suggestions and couldn't be anymore accommodating. I planned Vieques as a surprise and Val not only helped to orchestrate it and keep it a secret, but even helped to plan other activities I hadn't thought of. We had massages one day (which I originally planned), and the next day was with the masseuse and her boyfriend on his sailboat (which Val helped me put together). Val and Freddy couldn't have been sweeter and will do everything to ensure you have the best experience possible. One example of that was when we asked for an umbrella for the beach. They had one outside that they offered and we packed it but didn't need it as La Chiva offered us plenty of shade. When we got back that night they had bought a new one because the one they gave us had a little age on it. Little things like that from Val and Freddy show how much they care and easily became life-long friends. We look forward to returning to this island that we fell in love with. The 4 days we were there were just not enough.

We had a fantastic time at casa coqui verde. Val and Freddy have built a little piece of paradise, and we are so happy they are sharing this with us. Both are just the nicest people - they even picked us up from the ferry and brought us back as well. They are going above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. We will for sure be back.

First of all I want to thank the hosts Freddy and Val for every attention to detail, from the friendly welcome smiles to the fresh fruits in the kitchen. This apartment is great for a trip in Vieques, it has a small kitchen, 2 beds, large bathroom and living area, even includes beach chairs and snorkel equipment. The apartment is in a very safe area with private entrance and beautiful views! The hosts are available for anything you need. Highly recommended!

Our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the owners of Casa Coqui Verde (Val and Freddy) for providing such a beautiful, secure, private, exceptionally maintained, comfortable place to stay during our trip to Vieques. Casa Coqui Verde is an A+++++ property including the interior and exterior space which includes a very spacious apartment with all the conveniences of home. The interior includes a full kitchen, spacious bathroom, dining area, living room area,, two extremely comfortable beds, Wi-Fi, a large flat screen television, large windows which provide a gorgeous view and so much more. The exterior is exceptionally maintained with banana trees (best, sweetest tasting banana's I have ever tasted!), beautiful, tropical flowers and plants and an amazingly large private deck with a spacious cabana to lounge under, hang the hammock and relax (or sleep in under the stars as we did a night or two), a grill and views to die for including a great ocean view!!! The island of Vieques truly is a paradise with some of the best beaches in the world. Outdoor activities we enjoyed include sailing, horseback riding, snorkeling around a beautiful reef , jet skiing and watching the sunset from the deck of our favorite local restaurant. The day ended sitting on our deck watching the stars enjoying the serenity and a nightcap. Freddy and Val are amazing hosts, very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable of the island and the "must see's" it has to offer. It is evident that Freddy and Val's priority is to ensure that their guests have the best vacation ever, a major factor in why this was our 4th year vacationing in Vieques and at Casa Coqui Verde and we would not consider staying at any other property on the island....we are already planning our 5th visit!!! I wont even talk about the beauty and gems of Vieques Island because by now if you're looking for places to stay you understand it's worth and that leaving Puerto Rico without visiting it will be a minus in your vacation. Casa Coqui Verde is like the name states a house surrounded by green areas and during the evenings you'll be serenated by the coqui's song outside. A quick drive from the ferry port or airport(renting a method of transportation is a must to really explore the Island). If you get lost getting there pretty sure one of the hosts could meet with you halfway. Once you're there you'll return back from the explorations of the day no problem. The hosts, like past reviews say, will always assit recommending places to visit(beaches, activities, dinning). Truly believe they just want the visitors to love Vieques like they do. It wont be hard once one starts visiting the spots. It's a clean, off beaten path sort of place. House Amenities are great: fridge, stove, pots, plates, glasses, microwave, toaster, BBQ, towels, and screen windows. For in house entertainment: WiFi works nice, the RokuTv was a plus, DVD player with boxes full of DVD's, boardgames and the Binoculars(a real treat to overlook in the deck). Sitting in the mornings having breakfast or at the evenings in the deck was great. During the transition of booking Val was 100% available. She answered questions with complete transparency. Once there we felt at home/ease/relaxed. We had our own parking and keys. It felt nice to arrive, unwind, charge batteries and get back to it. Thanks Val and Freddy for the incredible hospitality and experience.

The owner was very helpful throughout the entire process. The apartment is spacious, with high ceilings. The view from the side patio is very nice. They made many great suggestions for beaches and activities. They even had three very lovable dogs that had range over the main part of the yard. It would be very difficult to find better accommodations in this price range. I would definitely recommend.
