La grande salle habillée de teintes de gris, dispose d'une cheminée du sol au plafond en granit, d'un plafond voûté et de doubles portes-fenêtres qui s'ouvrent sur un spacieux porche grillagé. Le porche est idéal pour se divertir avec une vue privée sur la crête boisée, une table pour six et un coin salon. Le plan d'étage ouvert rejoint une grande pièce à la cuisine et un coin repas pittoresque. We had a lovely Thanksgiving and mini-Family Reunion at the Foxdale cottage. Foxdale is beautifully situated and decorated. We would surely stay at this property again. Our hosts were very responsive the one time we reached out to them and addressed the issue later that day.
COOK’S NOTES: We cooked 6 breakfasts and 4 dinners, including Thanksgiving dinner. The appliances are new and work well. There's only one paring knife that's sharp, so bring a good chefs knife. They supply 2 or 3 pots, a stainless-steel skillet, and 3 non-stick skillets - 8", 10" and 12" and all three are very worn and should be replaced. The spices available are salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and chili powder - bring anything else you might need.
Pros:
1. The Mattresses and linens are top-tier quality.
2. There were plenty of extra bath linens.
3. The kitchen has very nice, new appliances.
4. In warmer months, the screened porches practically double the living area.
Cons:
1. The hot water in the upstairs bathroom will come on briefly, then go artic-cold. The owner/manager is aware.
2. The gas fireplace doesn't work. It worked briefly the first night, when it suddenly shut off, and we couldn’t get it back on during the remainder of our visit.
3. The television isn't connected to anything but the DVD player. The TV displayed an error message that no signal was found when switched to cable.
4. Those gorgeous claw-footed tubs. If you are in anyway mobility impaired the tubs will be a challenge.

The fox sale cottage was so cute. The decor was beautiful and location was perfect. We loved relaxing on the back porch while being surrounded be nature.

Perfect cottage for our stay. It was clean & well maintained. Loved the screened in porch. The weather was so mild that we kept the doors to the porch open all night. It was wonderful!
We enjoyed the fact that the cottage was 1 mi to town, so we were able to walk.

Fresh updates to the property including tasteful decor, modern appliances and comfortable furniture. We loved the easy access to Highlands, the quiet street, and the cozy screen-in porches. Another great feature is having a kitchen on lower and upper leves. Families or friends can have an area on both levels with separate bed and bath for convenience/privacy. Stop by and see the owner at their shop in town! We had a great experience.

It is a wonderful place. I gave it three stars for cleanliness because there were moldy coffee grounds in the coffeemaker and the downstairs was very dusty and full of spider webs. You should know that there claw foot tubs
In the bathrooms and it is quite a climb to get in to shower. I am 70 so was especially apprehensive. Otherwise, we loved it!

It's Snow Time!
This property is designed with comfort in mind. The bedding is delightful! I loved the high count sheets! From the moment you walk in the door, you will be impressed. The furnishings are upscale. The owner, Melissa, is amazing. Her response time is prompt. Our purpose of the trip was to see snow. Wow, we certainly got that! Thank you for a wonderful visit and your attention to detail. We are scheduling for the future.

This is just an adorable cottage/cabin very close to downtown Highlands. Owners were simply great, house is well stocked and ideal for two couples or small family. Staircase downstairs may not be suitable for all, but still a great place. Wish we could have stayed longer. Great shopping in Highlands!

Lovely respite
We had a wonderful 4 days respite from the heat and humidity of August in the South. Foxdale Cottage is indeed rustic chic. It is clean and so well appointed. Loved the clawfoot bath tubs and the sprawling porch. The location was perfect, private but not far from town and the owner so helpful. Hope to come back!

A Week In The Woods
This is a small cabin nestled in the woods. Every window and door looks out into a rich forest. We felt like we were in a tree house. It is a cosy cottage. The upstairs living room seats only 5 or 6 but the seating arrangement is right in front of the fireplace. and is a pleasant place to read or watch television. The huge screened porch is another bonus. The cottage has been professional decorated. The photos don’t do the house justice. It hard to tell how lovely this property really is. We totally enjoyed our stay.
PS. Might want to bring your own paper products. The paper towels and toilet paper are very low quality.

Idyllic setting!
Had a relaxing, solo vacation at the cottage over the Easter holiday. Adorable cottage right near downtown and close to the shops and hiking. Would definitely recommend!

Better than expected!!!
Pictures don’t give this cottage enough justice! We loved our stay and plan on returning. The cabin is absolutely perfect with 2 bedrooms, comfortable bedding, and 2 baths. The large screened porch was another pleasant surprise. Located just a short walk from town was great when my husband took the truck trout fishing. I was able to walk to town and even drop-in at Yoga Highlands. The owner also owns one of the boutiques downtown and offers renters a sweet discount. 10/10 would recommend!

Christmas getaway
The property was beautiful, charming, and extremely clean. Every room was so perfect. And the bathroom was like a mini spa. We loved the split level and it was perfect for our family. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking dinners and other meals. We all looked forward to returning back to the house after hikes in the day. The porches were wonderful and a great place to curl up with a good book. We would definitely love to visit this property again and enjoy a getaway every season.

Perfect for 2 couples
The porch was amazing and the decor so adorable! We loved that we could walk to town. Location was fab. We had our two kids ages 20 and 24. Pullout couch in basement is very uncomfortable for 3rd bed and claw foot tubs aren’t the easiest to shower in! Other than that such a great place!

Great location close to town!
Cottage was as advertised. Owners were very responsive with any issue! If you have mobility issues please note both bathrooms have clawfoot tubs and are challenging to climb in and out of for elderly as well as very low couch on upstairs porch (in photos).

Delightfully Decorated
The cabin was absolute wonderful, so cozy, comfortable and quiet. An oasis in the forest!!! We had a super relaxing stay and would highly recommend it to others.
