The house and location are even better than described. Deer, rabbits, turkeys, raptors, flickers, sea birds, seals abound. The multiple outdoor seating areas allow for different views and perspectives. Barred Island preserve is an easy walk through beautiful forest. Aragosta restaurant is within walking distance and well worth it!

We love staying at this beautiful property during our vacations on Deer Isle. The house has a perfect layout for our family, both inside and outside. Many special common areas, but plenty of private areas, with space too…The house is perfectly equipped with everything we need for cooking and and for being comfortable. The magnificent windows facing the bay allowed us to enjoy spectacular views from morning until night. Location was perfect, with great access to the beach, hiking, grocery store, and town. We had the BEST vacation EVER and we are hoping to return to this spectacular property again next year…

Clean, comfortable home with spectacular views of the ocean. Relaxing out in the back of the home with it several sitting areas was a highlight. Our family also had a great time hiking the nearby trails, kayaking, and exploring the area.

Family excitement as we set eyes upon this vacation paradise. Large deck to relax and view the ocean and it's changing tides. Spectacular evening sunsets; smores by the fire. The children spent endless hours exploring the landscape and playing on our own little beach. Easy to set kayaks right from our shores. Very comfortable , clean, spacious living space equipped with all one would need.
Thank you to our hosts for opening your beautiful home to us!

Wonderful, clean, well-appointed home with beautiful outdoor areas that we all enjoyed. Our group ranged in age between 7 to 80, and everyone had a fantastic week. A lifetime of memories made for sure!!

This is the property for you if you want an amazing house with an incredible view. House is spacious and well stocked kitchen. Then you go outside to several seating and dining areas with the most spectacular ocean view with so much ocean front availability. We LOVED it!!!!

Great location even with its own cobble/sand beach where kayaks/canoes/paddle boards can can be launched in a sheltered cove. Neat detached platforms where one can watch the ocean and enjoy the sunset. Remote yet only a few miles from groceries, restaurants, entertainment, and fresh lobsters.

We were three generations and the house accommodated all of us very easily. We would happily return another year.

We just returned from our Deer Isle family reunion vacation at this property and all I can say is “WOW”. The location is magical…secluded enough for privacy but close enough to visit some quaint little villages nearby, with plenty of space to spread out both inside & outside the home. This property was clean and well-appointed…it has a huge kitchen where we were able to prepare some memorable meals (including the BEST lobster we’ve ever had purchased at the Greenhead Lobster Co. in Stonington). We rented kayaks from the Activity Shop in Blue Hill…the process was seamless, and it was such fun being able to explore the shoreline from the water! Perhaps the best part of our trip can be contributed to our hosts, Barry & Christina. From providing a wealth of information about activities, restaurants, markets, etc. ahead of time to responding quickly to questions during the week, they were awesome. We appreciate the opportunity to stay at this luxury property and look forward to returning someday.

We had high expectations from the info on VRBO, but they were exceeded. The house could not be more comfortable, or more fully stocked. The beach came complete with a lobster boat visit each morning, picture postcard sailboats often in the bay, and stunning sunsets. Everyone in our party loved it.

Everything about the property was great. Every utensil and dish our group of eight needed was provided. We used the gas fireplace one night to make s'mores. Spent hours tide pooling on the beach, which also was a really good launching place for our rented kayaks. We had a couple of issues we needed assistance with, and the owners were very responsive and helpful.

My family and I (8 adults and 2 kids) had a wonderful stay. Location is right on the ocean. My five year old grand-daughter had fun climbing on the rocks. The sunsets were spectacular. The house easily accommodated 10 people. It was very clean and up to date. The house is isolated though, about a 15 minute drive from Stonington, a small village with a few shops and some restaurants. Bar Harbor is about a 1-1/2 hour drive. The owner was very accommodating, replacing a broken gas fire pit the day after I notified him. My only criticisms would be that the AC isn't able to cool the house very well on hot days and the laminate flooring on the lower level is separating from the floor in several ,locations.

Words can’t adequately describe this property. The views, the beach, the house…they ALL exceeded our expectations. We had three generations staying at the property and everyone (from old to young) had an incredible time. The house is thoughtfully designed so that multiple groups of people can have their privacy and still enjoy each other’s company. The same goes for the outside areas: a sandy beach for kayaking, swimming, or beach-combing, plus rocks to climb on, different platforms to take in the SPECTACULAR views. Who could ask for more? Not us. If you’re considering this property, don’t hesitate. You will not be disappointed. We would LOVE to come back again soon. Just amazing. Thank you!

Great time in Maine. Wonderful home to stay in with a breath taking view of the bay. Our vacation was everything we dreamed of.

This secluded, private, and peaceful property is amazing! The home is beautiful, spacious, and inviting. The decks are perfect—space for everyone. The beach was fun for a five year old to explore and skip rocks. Sunsets = spectacular. An easy walk to delicious meals at Aragosta. Memories made. Thank you for sharing. We loved our stay.

The house was amazing,. The coast line is beautiful in this region. Dear Isle is a great region because it is quiet and not commercial.

Everything about our stay was incredible! The house was just right for us. The location, the views (both from inside the house and out), the ocean, the quiet, the convenience to town… couldn’t have been more perfect. Barry was warm and welcoming from the beginning offering suggestions and answers and responded to all of my messages and queries within moments. We felt there could have been more attention to details by the cleaners - and Barry offered to have them come back, which was very kind - but nothing hindered our enjoyment, comfort or relaxation for a moment. It was absolutely perfect!! We would absolutely stay again and are already dreaming about it!

Our party of 4 loved our return to this house, the neighborhood (can walk to Aragosta!) and the serenity of the place. With 3 separate sleeping suites, the house affords privacy, yet common living, kitchen, and dining spaces.. The outdoor areas also include a common gathering space, with additional areas for meditation and privacy. Barry responded promptly to our only question. Nicely appointed. We’ll return as soon as we can!

We stayed for two weeks with family ages 4-89! The grounds of the property were perfect for enjoying the outdoors without going to far. Our favorite activities locally were Barred Island preserve, Sand Beach, and heading out with Captain Paula to pull lobster traps. We also rented kayaks, delivered right to our door.

My family and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for our first visit to Maine! The location is priceless and the home exceeded our expectations on every level from the time we stepped one foot in the doorway! BIG beautiful views, private and in an ideal location in Deer Isle.
Our host was extraordinary from the time we booked the trip until the end. Very responsive and provided us with plenty of recommendations. I highly recommend this home to all.

It is even better than the pictures! There is a wonderful great room where we gathered to cook, eat & play, a fabulous deck, another deck with a fire pit and three platforms down by the water's edge. Plenty of places to gather or isolate (meditate, yoga, read). Everyone was delighted with his or her bedroom and bath. There are tons of games, 3 TV's, ping pong and your own private beach. Discovering Deer Isle was a highlight: unlimited hiking, swimming and paddle boarding, delightful golf course just two miles away, Stonington, a ferry to Isle au Haut with another fabulous hike. The owners are kind and helpful, making sure your stay is all you want. Our visit was A+.

Best. Vacation. Ever! The pictures and the description on VRBO do not do this property justice. The house was in pristine condition and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and they were plenty of clean linens.. ping-pong and foosball were fun to play but so were some of the other family games that were available. Best of all, the owners were always quick to respond to questions… They had great information and insight! I highly recommend this home. You will love the experience of staying on Deer Isle!

The view is amazing! We rented the property for a reunion with our adult children and their spouses. Plenty of room for sleeping and for family games and hanging out. The property was clean and well appointed. The owners were responsive to questions or issues. Local seafood shops and restaurants were great and nearby. We had a great time with no issues. Thanks to the owners for an outstanding experience!

The property is stunning, all the kids asked us daily if we could move here. It was an amazing family trip. Plenty to do, and frankly you never have to leave the property. The owners were incredibly helpful with information as well as very responsive if you needed anything! Couldn’t recommend this place enough/

A gorgeous home and setting for our 3-generation annual family vacation. An incredible view from morning through night, whether its from the great room, the deck for sunset dinners, the adirondack chairs by the water for morning coffee or afternoon relaxation, the hammock or the Zen Zone at dusk for calm, the rocks and beach, or the fire pit at night for incredible stargazing. Some highlights:- Paddling by paddleboard and kayak (bring your own - we did - or rent) to Barred Island during high tide and hiking there during low tide to play on the sand bar. (The house is a short walk to the trail head for the Barred Island Preserve - our favorite place in the Stonington area.)- Paddling anytime of day the water permits - daily sightings of multiple seals equally curious about us, as well as porpoises, during our weeklong stay.- Lobster bake - the house has all the accoutrements necessary for a feast. The kitchen is large and well-stocked.Amazing views, plenty of space indoors and out for our 10-person family group (6 adults, 4 children). Endless hours spent on and by the water. Our kids (7 and 9 yrs old) played for hours on the rocks making a store selling shells, stones, and precious sea glass. Huge lower level with additional full living space, and a rec room with ping pong table and foosball table - but we never had an opportunity to spend a significant amount of time downstairs because the main floor and the outdoors are so comfortable and beautiful. Each of our 3 family sub-groups had plenty of space with our own section of the house and lots of common space to gather. Short drives (approx 10 min) to groceries (Burnt Cove Market), small shops in Stonington and the town of Deer Isle, lobster right off the docks as the lobstermen unload them from their boats at the Stonington Lobster Co-op, and quirky fun at Nervous Nellies. And Aragosta, a fantastic restaurant by any measure, has expanded and moved locations to be right around the corner from this house - make sure to make a reservation well in advance of your trip. Thank you, Barry, for being such a wonderful host and sharing your home with us. We cant wait to return next year!

Escape for the week. The open floor plan on the main floor was perfect for our group. We didn’t utilize the downstairs except for lots of easy access storage for bikes The furniture was comfortable inside and out. It had comfortable beds and great showers. The views from inside were amazing through the wall of windows & doors. The outside offered multiple choices of decks with Adirondack chairs in shade or sun and the gas fire pit provided a great ending to each night. The private beach was great for easy launching of kayaks, sea glass hunting, and viewing sunsets. The property is very quiet and is located down a dirt road with the most amazing restaurant, Aragosta, just 5 minutes away. The entire island lost power for the most of a day, but we continued our day in comfort as the generator automatically kicked on powering the whole house. The quaint village of Stonington was just 10 minutes away with galleries, restaurants and a boat ride to Isle au Haut that is not to be missed. We found it was hard to leave this bit of paradise to explore other towns. Barry, the property owner, was as a wealth of information and was very quick in responding to emails. The area reminded us of Bar Harbor and Acadia, but without the crowds!

This is a beautiful property and well appointed home. A bit of a distance to Acadia, but an enjoyable drive. Deer Isle is limited in restaurants and shopping, but nearby Stonington offers more of a selection for food choices. Do not miss Stonington ice cream, Aragosta at Goose Cove restaurant, El El Frijoles, Cockatoo restaurant or a trip to Isle Au Haut for beautiful hiking and a trip the the Maine Lobster Lady for some of the best lobster rolls in the east coast. The home offers a picturesque and peaceful setting to relax and take in the beauty of the Maine coastline. We hope to return to return soon.

This property was perfect for our family of 10. Perfect kid friendly beach, lots of spots to relax and enjoy the view in the shade and the sun and a short kayak to Barred Island. The kitchen/common area was big enough for all of us and a recreation room downstairs for separate activities. We will definitely go back!

This home exceeded our family’s expectations. Three generations were thrilled with the home and its surroundings. The kitchen was a chef’s dream! There are ocean views from almost every room.
Barry is a friendly, helpful host who prompts responses to his guests.

I can't say enough about this wonderful house and property. It was absolutely perfect for our family gathering (6 adults and 4 children). The house is either quite new or incredibly well maintained. It is spacious and nicely decorated, comfortable (especially the beds), and very well-appointed. Everything is exactly as pictured in the photos. The location is breathtaking, yards from the ocean with expansive decks and numerous spots for sitting outside by the shore. Barry, the owner, was very easy to work with. If I could give this home more than a 5, I would. We hope to go back!
