Isabelle’s home is in the in the absolute perfect location to explore the numerous wineries in the St Emilion village. She was awaiting our arrival, gave perfect direction on the layout and then even walked one of our family members into the village to show the location for our reservation for dinner that evening. I want to go back now! Thank you, Isabelle! We will come back.

If you are looking for a great home close to all St Emilion has to offer, this home is it. You open the gate to a big gravel area for your car bordered by a large grass lawn complete with many loungers. The house is lovely with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge on the main floor. Roomy bedrooms (3) are upstairs. There are two bathrooms one up and a large one downstairs. We really enjoyed our stay there. You are a 5 minute walk to the centre of town with its many restaurants and wine stores. To be enjoyed.

Merci Isabelle! A memory for a lifetime for our family. My wife and I would certainly return on a moment’s notice to your property when we can get back to France.

We really enjoyed our time at this home. A short walk into St Emilion. You do need to be able to do stairs as the bedrooms are upstairs

We were looking for a place close to St Emilion and this checked all the boxes!! Lovely home with excellent amenities in the the kitchen and a comfortable space for friends and family. Five minute walk into the picturesque village of St Emilion. Very quiet and a bonus was walking through the local vineyards on their many trails. Our host, Isabelle, was very responsive and helpful.

Excellent location.
So nice to walk in to Saint Emillion instead to look for a parking.
The house was very clean. We really enjoyed the house and our stay in Isabelle’s house.

The property was good. The host does not speak English and I do not speak French. There is always room for mid-interpretation which happened with when we were supposed to advise on when we were to check in. Because of this, the host was rude. She was rude throughout the entire check in process. She supplies nothing, you need to clean and she charges for additional (different) cleaning and she wanted to come to check the place before our check-out date. We have stayed in many short term rentals in France and other countries and own short term rentals ourselves and have never experienced anything like this before. Truly a downer to our vacation.

The location of this property is excellent for visiting St Emilion.
This is a wonderful family home which is maintained to an immaculate standard so you need to treat the property with the greatest respect. Isabelle is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. This is a first class property with all amenities supplied to have a wonderful experience in St Emilion.
I would highly recommend

A great property just outside of the main part of St Emilion. Loved the location - took just 5 mins to walk into town. And St Emilion is amazing! The property worked for our group of 3 couples, but the bathroom set up was a bit different. The master bedroom had just a shower/sink (no toilet). There was a toilet/sink in the upstairs hallway for all 3 bedrooms. And a full bath (with toilet and bath and a shower nozzle) on the main floor. So it was a bit of juggling to get ready in the morning.
The 70 euro “optional” cleaning fee isn’t really optional. We were told to fully clean the house before leaving - up to and including bathrooms and wiping down chrome. But we were still charged the full cleaning fee. Be aware that the check in and check out both were a longer process than normal, with lots of instructions. But they were helpful to understand the property.
Would definitely recommend staying here. Was really nice to have on-site parking for 3+ cars so close to the city. Beautiful property and location!

This is our second stay in this house and we enjoyed it as much as our first.
The house is very well equipped and comfortable and in a fabulous location. Although it is only a short walk to the centre of the village its location provides you with a quiet haven away from the tourist bustle.
Isabelle is a wonderful host and provides lots of information on the location including restaurants and chateaus to visit.
This is definitely on our 'come back' list.

A pleasant experience
A property nearby to restaurants, the property was clean and tidy, the owner was pleasant and responded quickly and was helpful with suggestions of restaurants to choose
The downside (though I’m sure it’s temporary) was that the property opposite was being renovated and therefore builders were working from 7.30 am throughout the day

House of pride
We had a wonderful stay at Madame Anger’s. She took extreme pride in her house. Everything was immaculate. Location couldn’t be better-just feet to multiple excellent restaurants and center of town. We would definitely visit again.

Beautiful gite
Beautiful traditional french country house and lovely owner. Upstairs en-suite has shower and basin but no toilet, so just one toilet upstairs and one downstairs. No problem for us. Lovely live-in kitchen and safe secure garden. Perfectly located for a short walk into Saint Emilion. On holiday with three young children - they loved the place. (We moved a few breakable ornaments on our arrival just in case and were mindful of them on the stunning but steep (for children and mildly inebriated grown-ups) staircase). Great place: especially for wine tasting!

Wonderful holiday house
We had an amazing time staying at this well equipped house and enjoyed relaxing in the very pretty garden. It was great being in the town and able to walk out to the many restaurants. Also a great base for exploring the area. Our host Isabelle was delightful and helpful in letting us know about local events. Can highly recommend this house.

Bright, roomy accommodation perfectly positioned
We had a fabulous time in Isabelle's lovely home. The rooms were bright and airy and the furnishings were very comfortable although we're used to having larger beds. The kitchen was well equipped and it was handy to be able to park outside the property. The position of the house, on the edge of the village, was perfect as you had all the benefits of being right by the restaurants, shops and sights but without any inconvenience of crowds or noise. It was lovely to be able to sit in the garden with a drink in the evening and we felt very safe. Communication with Isabelle was excellent and she was very accommodating. The house was immaculately clean. The set up with the shower attached to one of the bedrooms might not suit all combinations of guests, but there was a bath downstairs with a shower over it. All in all, highly recommended. Thanks for a lovely stay Isabelle

Perfect location, lovely house. Plenty of space.
Hostess, Isobella very helpful and friendly. Clean, and well equipped house. Quiet location for relaxing holiday but also just 2mins from lots of nice resturants and shops.

Perfect location for a visit to Saint Emilion
You really cannot get a better location for a rental house in Saint Emilion. Just a block or so away from the center of town. The house was very nice with a big, well-equipped kitchen and plenty of room for 4-6 people. The outside front lawn is fantastic for sitting around the table, sipping local wines and playing cards. For American tourists, just be aware there are 2 toilettes and neither is in a bedroom. It was not a problem for us, but I know sometimes it is confusing trying to understand what constitutes a 'bathroom' in France. If you have not visited Saint Emilion, just be aware that about 4-5 tour buses show up every day and the streets are packed with tourists, then they leave in the evening. The shops there really cater to the tourists, so everything is pretty expensive.
Isabelle is very responsive and very easy to work with. I would highly recommend this property if you want to visit Saint Emilion and the region!

Absolutely perfect in every way!
We can't recommend this house enough. Isabelle was an amazing, kind and informative hostess. She told us all about the house when we arrived and it was lovely to learn about some of its history in her family. The heart of Saint Emilion was a 5-6 minute walk from the house. The house has a beautiful, well equipped and large kitchen. The bedrooms are all large and the bathrooms are all updated with modern amenities. All furnishings are comfortable and exquisite. It is set on a beautiful piece of land with a vineyard literally across the street from the house. It is a quiet and peaceful location with lots of trees and birds that are an absolute delight to hear singing. Despite being so close to the center of Saint Emilion, during our stay, the area was quiet and peaceful. We felt safe walking at all times to and from the city and back to the house. I can't say enough good things about this property. If you have the ability to stay here, we would say you should absolutely do so. Thanks again to Isabelle for sharing her amazing home with us.

Beautiful
Everything about the gite was lovely ... the facilities and location, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner (Isabelle) were all wonderful. Only a 10 minute stroll to the central restaurants and bars means that one can be very relaxed. Access to the surrounding countryside, on foot, by bike or car, is simple.

Excellent Accommodation and Hostess
The cottage is perfectly located, very roomy and well appointed. We had dinner in the garden most evenings. We needed help to get fuel and Isabelle went out of her way and came to the petrol station to assist. It is not air conditioned, and temps were up to low 30s in June and it was warm but fine inside.

Spacious, central with a huge yard.
Isabelle was warm and eager to see that we had a good time and offered guidance if we had needed it for sites, etc. We had more difficulty communicating than with most people on our trip (we speak only English and Spanish, plus maybe 200 words in French). Google translate was important to have on hand- so be sure to download it if you're in the same boat!
The yard and house both were much larger than I thought- perfect for our son to have outdoor space to play, and the large sitting room looks onto the flowering garden.
Note that like any French town you can find specialty food shops (cheese, local specialties, bread/pastries), but more general groceries will mean a short drive out of town. In town and rather close to the house there's something more like a convenience store (with convenience store prices), which does have a small selection of fruit and pre-packaged meats plus the basics.
A 60 euro cleaning fee is not really optional unless you do a full house-cleaning yourself, and this isn't noted in the quote. I had thought the optional housecleaning was relevant only if staying multiple weeks and wanting housekeeping services along the way, but it is also required for the end of a shorter visit.
This was likely the most expensive place we stayed on our 3 week trip, but we'd splurge again for how nice it is and how well-located. You can avoid driving in the medieval center while being only 250 yards from the old town entrance on foot.

Excellent
A big house, well finished and equipped, with a big secure garden for children, a quarter of a mile for bread and provisions, and the same distance to St Emilion cafes and restaurants. Only downside was how expensive - overpriced - St Emilion is in general. But nice interesting countryside and the town is very attractive indeed.
Isabelle is a lovely lady who took pains to ensure we had everything we wanted for our two week stay.

A LOVELY PROPERTY
WE ENJOYED OUR FEW DAYS AT THE PROPERTY.
IT WAS IN A BEAUTIFUL CONDITION.
THE OWNER WHO MET US EVEN THOUGH WE ARRIVED QUITE LATE,WAS CHARMING AND HELPFUL.
BECAUSE OUR STAY WAS IN FEBRUARY,WE NEEDED HEATING AT 10 EUROS PER DAY.IF WE WOULD HAVE REQUIRED THE CLEANING SERVICE,IT WOULD HAVE BEEN 60 EUROS.
ST EMILION IS BEAUTIFUL AND A GOOD BASE TO EXPLORE.

Absolutely Fabulous Cottage!
We just got back from staying a week at this cottage / home and the stay was perfect. Very spacious with lots of light but also with shutters that make it completely dark for sleeping in. The kitchen / dining area is very open and bright, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you might need. You have beautiful views over the vineyards, and a yard completely private with a stone wall surrounding it. It is just a very short walk into the heart of the village of St Emilion, and the owner could not have been nicer. We will definitely stay here again during our next visit to Bordeaux!

Very nice house in great location
The property itself was great. The house was in a fantastic location with parking. It was spacious and seemed to be well equipped for cooking - though we mostly ate out. The yard was large and great for our son to run around in. St. Emilion is a very short walk away from the house.
The main reason for dropping a star was that we had some check out issues. The day of arrival we set a checkout time of 9:15. I'm fairly certain there was no confusion to the time when it was set. Regardless, I e-mailed the host the night before to confirm and inquire about possibly moving it up to 9:00. The following morning, we were not met at the house until 10:00, which caused us to have to cancel a private wine tour/tasting at the last minute...something I hate to do. Another factor in dropping a star was that supplies were pretty barren when we arrived. We're used to (and fully expect) different VRBOs to have varying levels of supplies, but this was the first place we stayed that didn't even have toilet paper in the house upon arrival.
Still, overall the location and property were great despite the hiccups.
