The lobby, the shuttle, the location the friendly staff
Like everyone said the rooms are in poor conditions and not very clean. We even had a mouse in our room but thankfully to the very friendly staff we were changed rooms.

Great location: the hotel is close to the park entrance. Outdoor terraces by the river with a lot of seating.
It‘s very basic and dated.

Waiters at restaurants were very nice
Toilet in room ran off and on all night. Several electrically outlets not working and light between beds didn’t work.
Building very old and dated. Lobby old and dated, very used furniture.
Expected nicer facility.

The property is beautiful! There’s a river on property and lots of areas to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors.
The room was okay. I was disappointed that there wasn’t a refrigerator or microwave in the room. I thought that was standard nowadays.

The staff here are truly wonderful -- this place is incredibly short-staffed this summer, like just about everywhere in Alaska at the moment, and the staff that are there this summer are working incredibly hard to deal with the large unexpected crowds flocking to Alaska this summer. Every staff member I interacted with, whether at the front desk, driving the shuttle, or taking your food order, was friendly, professional, and doing everything in their power to be helpful. If you're visiting this summer, please be patient and kind to the staff (I saw many guests take out their frustration on the staff -- it's not their fault that hotel management didn't hire enough staff this summer, and also didn't cap maximum guest capacity at the hotel either). The property around the hotel is beautiful, and a few hikes easily accessible as well. I ate at the restaurant both nights I was here, and food was tasty and reasonably priced (I live in CA, so I perhaps have a different definition of "reasonably" priced compared to other parts of the country). Overall, I was very happy I chose this hotel for my two nights in Denali, and I would happily stay here again.
Yes, amenities and services are limited right now due to the short-staffing, and there were at times long waits for food, but none of that impacted my overall opinion of the hotel, given the conditions they're working with this summer. What I would consider for the future, though, is that it's very difficult to get to other restaurants for dinner without a car of your own here, so options are a bit limited if you're relying on the shuttle service to get around (again, perhaps that's better when they're not short staffed). The room didn't feel really "worth" the nightly price here; it was small but clean and decently furnished, just a bit pricey for what you get. All that said, other hotels in the area are about the same, so I was pretty happy with my stay here and don't really have any complaints.

Was in a good location.
A bit older building. Had an iron that had the wire winder broken. Few tiles in the bathroom was loose. The restaurant was overwhelmed and our food was really bad (steak undercooked, fish and chips under cooked). We opted to eat at nearby places after this.

Nothing. All good. A noisy bathroom fan if I had to think of something.

The shuttle service to and from the rail stop was very good and the driver full of good local information
I arrived to a power cut so went out for a walk in the grounds. On the morning of my departure had the company of a mouse running around the room. When I checked out I spoke to the Reception Manager but her response was " we are in the wilds of Alaska"......I still don't expect wildlife in my room and I am still awaiting the partial refund she agreed to give me for the inconvenience.

We didn't do the breakfast because $25 was too much. We did eat supper the night before and it was ok.
I asked at check-in if there was a queen bed available but it was like the guy didn't even hear me. We had 2 full size beds and the room was fine.
