PROS: We spent eight nights in this modern up-to-date home. After a couple of fits and starts regarding check-in everything went smoothly. The location, while slightly remote, is still only a 15 minute trip to Damariscotta where you will find plenty of restaurants, shopping and even a theater. The large deck and water views were a plus. Happy to see that a railing had been added to the stairway leading to the main bedroom.
CONS: Climate change has made the old adage that you don't need A/C in Maine obsolete. The portable A/C provided was sufficient for the upstairs bedroom but overmatched when cooling the rest of the house. Granted we arrived during a heat wave but a house as lovely as this deserves central air.

We really enjoyed staying here. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. It was a great place to call home base as we experienced Maine for the first time.

The house was perfect for our family of 4. It is well maintained and centrally located to explore the Bristol /Waldoboro area. We enjoyed the tranquility and lovely surroundings.

Beautiful light/wonderful quiet Maine escape! We were there at the start of October-the leaves were reds, yellows and greens against blue sky, with crisp air, bright sunshine. We watched eagles, fox; we'll try to go back; very comfortable for three people, could fit more.

We loved the open concept loft style of the house; it lets a great amount of light in the house. The grill is also a great amenity; we ended up spending more time in the house than planned. Highly recommend it for a trip in Maine.

Beautiful property in peaceful location
We truly enjoyed our week here! The property and the sunrises are incredible. We had a lot of fun hanging on the deck and down by the river. The house is in a quiet location, but not far from Camden, Rockland and other towns. The only negative was the housekeeping, which was mostly fine, but the trash was full when we got there, and we had to buy some cleaning supplies that we couldn’t find in the house. But overall it was an amazing stay and we would 100% go back!

Awesome stay in the PD. Eastman house! Some old flowers were left in the kitchen that attracted a bunch of fruit flies, and the “clean” dishes weren’t very clean, but that was a pretty minor inconvenience. Everything else was very clean and in working condition, and the view was amazing. Would rent again.

My family stayed at this house in early August. We found the house quite comfortable for our group of six, though a bit tight with that number. It is a beautiful home with comfortable seating inside but is notable for its large deck overlooking the water. The location is very private but only a short drive from nearby towns with necessary amenities including grocery stores and quite a few restaurants.
However, we did have some issues with our stay. Though Vacasa promised that the house would be cleaned and sanitized before our arrival (with check-in pushed back to allow for extra cleaning) we arrived to find that the house had not been cleaned. There were clean linens, but the floors were dirty, and the refrigerator was dirty - with bits of food left in it. The counters and stove were dirty and sticky. The outdoor garbage and recycling cans were stuffed completely full leaving us nowhere to put garbage over the weekend. We called Vacasa customer service which arranged for the cleaning person to return and spend time cleaning – though even then the result was less than expected given what was promised amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Their maintenance person did come to remove the excess garbage, as well as replace the propane tank on the grill, which has been left nearly empty. It was frustrating that we had to spend time and make multiple calls to get this all done – especially given the substantial cost of such a rental.
Ultimately our vacation was successful, and we loved the house and the location. But I do not think we will return for a future stay.

Great location. SO beautiful. Beds super comfy. Home really well stocked. Only issues: WiFi not great and heat is in living room so gets all parts of house except 2 downstairs bedrooms if you close the door and then no way to get heat in there and no source inside room. No canoes or kayaks provided. Ring of rocks to make fire down on rocks below house. Lovely!!

Relaxing and beautiful
We were a little worried with how we were pretty secluded with three teenagers but, we had a great time just hanging out, checking out our surroundings and the wild life around the house. We made a couple ventures out to see the lighthouse and have breakfast and get some games.
^Bright in the early mornings (5:00), bring a sleep mask if that will wake you.

Lofty luxury
Beautiful home on the water. Loved exploring the shoreline and watching the sunrise over the water. The home is cozy and has everything you need. King bed in the loft is comfortable but bunk beds are a bit hard for an adult. Only negative might be that people walking in the loft can be heard below in the bedrooms, otherwise our whole family loved it.

What a view!
Loved the overall feel of the home and the nature around it. The waterfront is rugged and fun to explore. The loft and atmosphere in the house is peaceful and quaint and our family enjoyed our time there. Waking up to the sunrise was our favorite part of the day.

It's mid-coast Maines best kept secret! Nesttled between touristy Rockland and Wiscasset is the quaint off the grid town of Waldoboro. This house sits right on the Medomak River which is really "Maine speak" for an Atlantic Ocean inlet. The water views are spectacular from just about everywhere in the house but the loft bed room's view is dazzling! We woke up to sunlit waters every morning which were absolutely magical, right from our bed!
The house itself, a mid century modern was built and owned by PD Eastman who was a compadre' of Dr. Sues and wrote The Best Nest and Who Is My Mother among many other children's classics of the 60s and 70s. The house is tastefully appointed with modern yet comfy furnishings. It's got everything you need which you can read in the listing, but if you want something special and unique that allows you to chill and relax in the coolest possible way without the bother of traffic and tourists, this is your house.

I came to this house for a relaxing 30th birthday weekend with a few close friends and it was everything I hoped it would be. Everything about the house, including the drive down to it from the road, was beautiful, and it has a great history too!
It was the perfect size for 6 adults. We especially enjoyed morning coffee out on the giant deck and watching the sunrise down at the water (accessed by a wood staircase).
Since there is no AC, it did get slightly hot in the upstairs loft during the day (end of August), but the provided fans made it comfortable enough. The house was spotless on arrival and the kitchen was stocked with all of the necessary items you'll need while there. We had a bbq one night so it was great to have a propane grill right outside on the deck - just remember to bring the bug spray!
There were a few minor exterior maintenance issues that we noticed: some of the deck chairs were broken and unusable and the top rail of the deck railing was loose on one end causing it to wobble if anyone leaned on it. I realize we were there towards the end of the summer after a steady stream of other guests so they weren't huge issues for us.
One final note - it might be better to just swap out the glass coffee table in the living room for something more solid instead of having the guests put foam pads on the edges. I think even with the foam, all of us still hit into it at some point.

The house was perfect for us, plenty of privacy and ample bathrooms.
The kitchen is small but well-stocked with dishes, cooking utensils and appliances.
The view is lovely of the tides going in and out, lots of wildlife, and a large deck on which to view it all and grill, read and relax!

The house is beautiful, and the view gorgeous. We enjoyed it very much!
The property is lovely, plenty of places to sit, privacy in bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms. It all worked well for us. The kitchen is a galley, and a bit difficult for group cooking, but well-stocked with dishes and cookware.
We saw some nice wildlife, and enjoyed both low and high tide on the river.
The deck is huge, and so is the grill.

3 Star property for 5 Star price
Quiet, peaceful location. Wildlife all around. Nice deck, well equipped. House was clean and updated. Good wifi, TV, appliances. Beds good, baths adequate. Great views of the River. No air conditioning (as advertised) which makes it nearly unlivable during the summer due to glass wall. It was 80- 90 degrees outside, over 95 degrees inside for part of our stay. Loft has king bed but was even hotter. Fans not nearly enough. Full glass views were nice facing East, but sunrise at 0430 without adequate curtains made for very early bright mornings. Forget sleeping in. House sits on large field but not enough mowed for kids to play. No kayaks/canoes available on the premises as advertised. No firepit. Home is very, very small, pictures made it look bigger. Not really enough space for 2 families, no privacy at all inside. Overall I've been to Maine many times and have stayed in better and worse accommodations. We would not go back to this home, very close quarters and difficult sleeping issues. With some additional amenities and a few corrective changes it could be well above average, but size/privacy are limiting factors.

Quiet, peaceful location. nice views. clean and updated home. deer and wild turkeys around. lacks air conditioning which is needed during the summer, especially with king bed in loft. huge field in front but not enough mowed for kids to play in. no kayaks or canoes for use on hand. looks bigger in pictures, very small in size. No privacy for more than one family. Nice deck in back overlooks river, but bright sun rises at 0430 make for short nights sleeping upstairs(minimal curtains). Good but not great stay over July 4th week 2018.
