Spent a wonderful 8 days at this cozy apartment just a 3 minute walk to the beach. Thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed including bikes. We will be back!

I suppose it was my rush in looking for a place, but I neglected to note the last line of the property description: duplex. The rental is not a casita but attached to the main house and subject to the drum of footsteps overhead. The location so close to the beach was exceptional. Owner might want to reconsider the mattresses in the bunk room. A little like Goldilocks, one is too hard and the other too soft. Also, owner does not communicate via the app, encourages one to text her or her son’s phone.

Great location right by the beach with parking. The place is a tad smaller than I thought it would be based on the pictures but was still plenty of space for 4 of us. Nice outside area too

The property is exactly as described in the listing. The location is good and having a parking space included is priceless in this area! We had everything we needed during our stay and we enjoyed using the bikes that were provided by the host. Also provided were boogie boards and all of the beach supplies that you need as well as a grill (which we did use and it worked great). The place is cozy, including the outdoor space. It's all super quaint, but is sometimes a tight squeeze for two adults and two adult-sized teenagers, but we made it work. Our only small complaint is the outdoor noise (esp. in the front bedroom) when trying to sleep. We had a couple of nights of loud yelling right outside the property that kept us awake, plus traffic noise is present. No fault of the property owner, of course. Joanne is a great host. Very kind and communicative. The location is great, overall. We drove all over LA to do a variety of activities and Venice was a great home base!

We had a wonderful trip to Los Angeles and stayed in a perfect location. Joanne was an excellent host and great to work with. She even had a bike rented for our son to ride while we were there.

We had such a wonderful 2 weeks staying in Joanne's property. It is ideally located a few steps to the beach and central to everything in Venice. The property was very clean, so well equipped with everything you could possibly need.... It was comfortable and cosy. An ideal location from which to explore Venice, Santa Monica and LA. Kitchen has everything you could need to self cater, nice hot shower, comfortable beds, heating for the cooler months. Wifi worked well and the kids appreciated having both Netflix and Roku on the TV! Joanne couldn't have been more welcoming and offered all her support, thank you for our stay, we highly recommend it!

Property is located in an amazing location about a block from historic than a speech. Shops and restaurants within walking distance. The host provides everything you could possibly need while you’re staying there, and even dropped off sticky buns and flowers to brighten our stay. We will definitely be back!

We stayed for almost two weeks, and had a wonderful time. My daughter was working at UCLA during the day, and every site she needed to be at was a short drive. I was without a car while she worked, but I loved walking the beach and Santa Monica. There were a lot of lovely stores, museums and restaurants in walking distance. The proximity to the beach was prime. Thanks for a lovely stay Joanne!

And 14 years old:
We were welcomed by Joanne and her son, who gave us useful tips about the apartment and the area. Ice cream in the freeze for the kids upon arrival, which the kids loved.
The apartment has a private backyard, with a BBQ (didn’t use it), 4 bikes, 4-5 bodyboards, 4 brand new Tommy Bahama beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas and a trolly to use to the beach. A short stroll to the beach and restaurants.
Inside there were 3 large and comfortable beds: 1 large queen and a bunk bed (2 queens). They have recently installed a air conditioner. Due to the heat wave this was very appreciated. Like other AC, this didn’t have to run constantly. It was very effective, and the nice sea breeze also helped to keep the temperature at a comfortable level. The kitchen was well equipped and have everything we needed and more. Small dishwasher in the kitchen and a washer and a dryer Outside. Parking space right outside was also big plus. Keyless locks
both to the yard and to The front door was convenient.
We loved every about our our stay,
And after almost 4 months of traveling, this is without a doubt our favorite place to stay!

The House is full of charm due to the Old age. It is in no way modern or upscale, but has the charm is a house from 1905. We preferred to clean a little when we arrived.
It has a perfect location right by the Venice Boardwalk and Joanne is doing everything in her capacity to help and assist. Joanne even brought a huge Winnie the Pooh teddy for me daughter when she hurt her foot badly on the buggy board.
There are lovely amenities in the house and we rode bikes a lot, and used the buggy boards.
We never felt unsafe in the neighborhood though it can be a little rowdy - as the rest of Venice.
Absolutely lovely cafes and restaurants nearby.

A lovely home
Our stay was lovely. We were a bit cramped with four adults (our choice, as a way to save money!), but it was so nice to have a home to return to at the end of the day. The location of Joanne's place is excellent, only a short walk to the beach and to many coffee shops. I would definitely stay again.

Had a great vacation!
This cute little place was in a great location. Joanne was a great host and very accommodating. The bunk beds were big so two people could sleep in each. It was just so pleasant. Thanks Joanne!!

Plenty of towels, including beach towels and linens. And a washer & dryer was very handy as well. We had some nice rides on Joanne's bikes. Joanne also has a stash of balls (basketballs, volleyballs) and boogie boards that we did not get a chance to use because we were too busy with other stuff. Easy to walk to many restaurants and coffee shops and a dedicated parking space was a much appreciated amenity. Joanne checked in with us regularly and was immediately attentive to anything we needed. She is so kind and friendly. Directions to the property were very good and instructions for access were also great. It's a truly comfortable and restful place - we certainly hope to be back again soon!

We enjoyed the easy proximity to the ocean, the boardwalk, groceries and restaurants. But the cozy beachy feel of our accommodations, our hosts kindness and availability, made our stay for a post medical surgery more like being in a home than just a 12 day rental.

Another plus was that there were bikes, beach chairs, and boogie boards to use that were included. We had some issue with the bikes, but JoAnne had them fixed immediately. She was very responsive to any issues that came up. There was a grill and nice outdoor table to use, and included in the house were condiments and all the cooking basics (salt, pepper, cooking oil), which was super nice. There is a Costco 10 minutes away and a whole foods 5 minutes away.
Again, this house was a great value, and we would stay here again.

Great place in a great location!
This is a super great little property, really cute place and really comfortable bed. The location is fantastic, literally a couple minutes walk to Venice Boardwalk and beach. A longer walk, short drive or easy bike ride to Santa Monica Pier or shopping. Cute little back yard area to hang out if you feel like staying home. Joanne has lots of beach gear a well as bicycles that you can use. Unfortunately the weather was not the best while we were there, but would love to go back when the weather is warmer and dryer!
Joanne was easily reachable with quick responses when needed. I did have an issue finding the place in the dark when we arrived, but once I found it, she even came out to help me figure out parking. She does her best to make sure you have an enjoyable stay and everything you need! She even stopped by on a rainy day and brought us a bouquet of flowers!
You really can't beat the location if you are a beach person and there is easy access to other locations around LA.

Wonderful stay on Venice Beach!
This was a fantastic vacation for our family! We appreciated being able to use the bikes for rides along the boardwalk and the boogie boards for fun in the water. Joanne was also very helpful and friendly. The boardwalk was especially lively and vibrant on the weekends -- we bought some great artwork!
Be prepared for a bit of noise at night, especially on the weekends (the road is close to the house, and Venice Beach can be full of some very colorful characters), but that comes with the territory with this sort of vacation. We turned the fan on at night and sometimes closed the windows, which helped a lot.
Our family of five had a wonderful stay here, and we would definitely come again!

Charming with a fabulous location
Great location. Just a block from the beach or some fabulous shops and restaurants. House was nicely stocked with everything you could need. House has a nice outdoor space for sitting and drinking coffee or wine. The owner had bikes available for us to use which was so much fun to ride on the boardwalk. The owner also very responsive to any and all questions we had and made sure that our arrival was easy. Our Familiy of 5 found this a great home base for our California adventure. Would absolutely stay/rent with her again. Peace!

we were four adults staying in the unit for a week. the space is clean, a nice amount of room for four adults, and really well appointed with everything you need. adequate space to cook (indoors or our), comfortable bathroom, and all modern amenities functioning well. the location is ideal if you want to be close to the excitement of Venice. you can't get closer to the beach. good restaurants are extremely close and easily within walking distance. the owner was supportive and helpful.

Beautiful home with everything
There is no better location on Venice Beach,CA. It has everything you need inside and out including bikes, towels, chairs, boogie boards, umbrella & even a wagon to carry it all. A major plus is that it has it’s own parking space which is huge on the beach. Joanne was a wonderful and very helpful host. She even had muffins with fruit ready for us with a welcome packet. We highly recommend staying here. We had an amazing trip.

Charming little rental for the family.
Joanne was great. Our plane arrived before our check in. She allowed us to come early. Joanne greeted us with a smile. Showed us everything about the rental and the Venice area. There were plenty of bikes and buggie boards for the four of us. We enjoyed walking the area and the beach. I felt safe allowing my 16 year old and her friend walk the area. We had a late flight out at the end of our stay. Joanne offered to let us stay and enjoy the rental a few more hours. Which was amazing. That never happens at a hotel. If we ever come back to the Venice area we will be back for sure.
