Les trois chambres à coucher, deux salles de bain, un grand salon, une salle à manger avec des poutres à la main, une cheminée à bois et une terrasse créent une ambiance qui ne se reproduit pas dans d'autres maisons Tofino. Il y a un lit king size dans la chambre principale avec salle de bains attenante à trois pièces, une chambre queen avec salle de douche entièrement neuve et une chambre lits jumeaux avec des lits jumeaux extra longs. Le salon est suffisamment spacieux pour les jeux, la cheminée et la télévision à écran plat. La table de salle à manger peut accueillir confortablement 8 personnes. Une grande terrasse orientée plein sud entoure les trois chambres, donnant sur la plage de Tonquin. À l'entrée principale, il y a une petite terrasse couverte avec un grand barbillon.
En suivant les étapes jusqu'à la plage sur un court sentier, il y a une belle plage de sable fin, parfaite pour les couchers de soleil, les jeux de plage en plein air ou un rôti de hot-dogs. Une longue promenade sur la plage peut être appréciée de la plage privée à la plage de Tonquin et au-delà à marée basse. La plage de Tonquin est un trésor caché, avec une histoire culturelle, des criques pittoresques et une piscine naturelle d'eau douce parfaite pour les jeunes enfants. Nous avons également un trampoline sur la propriété qui est disponible avec surveillance! Pour ceux qui s'intéressent à la pêche, vous pouvez pêcher juste à côté des rochers devant la maison à marée haute!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Tonquin Beach! The suite is just off the beach and was super comfortable for our family of five (3 teens included). We had beautiful weather (October!) and spent many moments day:night on the beach just a few steps out our door. We saw sea otters, seals, porpoise and a myriad of birds. We explored Pacific Rim National Park - meandering several beautiful beaches and a few rainforest trails as well. The home itself is very inviting and comfortable; our host was kind and attentive and informative. We would love to return and highly recommend a stay here!

You can hear the ocean from the parking lot! Huge beautiful windows, your own private access to beach and firepit, wood burning fireplace, well stocked kitchen with thoughtful touches such as an open pantry, extremely comfortable beds, perfect layout, deck access from each bedroom, walking distance to Tofino, steps from Tonquin Beach trail...it was the perfect getaway for 4 adults. Peaceful. Exactly what we needed. Cathy is a delightful exemplary host providing excellent recommendations such as the Drift Cafe & our favorite: the Savary Pie Company, which you must try. The house has tasteful cottage features and decor. Cathy provides incredible value beyond expectation. And the sunsets were stunning. What a beautiful property. We can't wait to return soon!

We had such a great stay! The house is right near town, footsteps to a little beach, near tons of hiking, gorgeous grounds, and beautiful sunsets. The owners live upstairs so you will hear them above you a bit and see them around the yard. Cathy and her husband are super kind, friendly and helpful. We would love to come back again soon

I had an absolutely fantastic experience staying at "On The Beach" in Tofino, B.C. The location was simply outstanding, and I was thrilled to discover that the best tide pools in the entire area were right outside the door during low tide. It was a truly unique feature to have each of the three bedrooms offering lovely views.
The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to prepare our meals, which made our stay even more convenient. Being within walking distance from town was another major plus point. Cathy, our host, was delightful and provided us with excellent recommendations. We were also grateful for her generosity in sharing her parks pass.
Considering the current drought, I realized it would have been helpful to bring along paper plates/bowls and baby wipes to reduce water usage. However, we managed to make conscious efforts to conserve water during our stay. We practiced the "if it's brown flush it down, if it's yellow let it mellow" philosophy and utilized the electric tea kettle to warm water for dishwashing in a basin. Additionally, we used a splash of bleach in the hot rinse water and reused it for pre-rinsing the next set of dirty dishes.
Overall, I highly recommend "On The Beach" for a memorable and enjoyable vacation. It offers an unbeatable location, comfortable accommodations, and a thoughtful host who goes the extra mile to ensure a great stay.

I can't say enough about the location of this property. We ended up spending most of our time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful beach practically at our doorstep. The home is spacious and lovely, great beds and lots of light. This was our second stay here and we can't wait to return.

Our stay at On the Beach couldn't have been better for our family of four (two teens). The place was exactly as presented in the photos; clean, bright and airy with a beautiful view. The pocket beach was perfect for early morning coffee and gorgeous sunsets. We loved the walk to Tonquin beach and the proximity for walking into town. It was a little piece of paradise to return to at the end of a day of surfing. Kathy is a one of a kind host; she makes you feel like you are part of the family!

We had a wonderful, long Easter weekend at this beautiful VRBO. My husband and I travelled from the US, and my son, his wife and their two children from Canada. It was a perfect VRBO for us 4 adults and 2 children, ages 9 and 11. Their were board games to play when it was raining, and a cozy fire was made for nighttime enjoyment. This VRBO is within walking distance of trails, beaches, and the town of Tofino. Perfect in all ways. Thank you.

Could not have asked for a better place to enjoy the splendour of the West Coast with our teens! Home was perfect for our needs and we enjoyed crackling fires in the fireplace every night to add to the already cozy spot! Great supply of board games for the evenings. Well supplied kitchen. Wonderful vacation for our family and hope to come back someday! Dawna, the caretaker, was awesome and there if we needed her (we didn’t!). Pictures and description on listing are totally accurate and in fact don’t do it justice! Thanks, Cathy, for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Very comfortable three bedroom property with a nice big eating and living area, walks to a private beach to watch the sun set, and right at the start of the Tonquin Trail. Also walking distance to the town of Tofino. Wonderful hosts. We will be back.

This property is everything it's described to be. It goes without saying that the location is perfect (but I'll say it anyway). The house is extensively furnished with everything you need. Cathy is an attentive--but not intrusive--host who promptly responds to any questions you may have.

We spent a relaxing perfect 2 weeks at “On the Beach”The setting is beautiful as well as very convenient to town and beaches, both within reasonable walking distance. We found the home very comfortable with a layout that makes it easy to share the space. The beds are quite comfortable and we were lulled to sleep by ocean sounds. The only caution I would note is that there is a long wooden stairway (about 15 steps?) from the parking area down to the entry of the suite as well as 3 steps up to the bedroom/bath wing. It would not be suitable for those with mobility issues. We personally found it to be great exercise.
We stayed previously in several rentals and lodges in Tofino, this will be our first choice in the future.

Wonderful location! Gorgeous sunsets. Quiet and peaceful, with access to multiple beaches and Tonquin trails, yet also very close to town for a meal. Our hosts were wonderful and helpful! Our family of five (3 boys under 11) and my mom really enjoyed our stay.

This is our seventh time visiting Tofino and we had a great experience at this property. Our host, Cathy, was gracious and very helpful and the accommodations were just what we needed for a great visit. The beach was secluded and we enjoyed beautiful views looking out at the sound. The location "on the beach" was perfect for our family. The seaview, just a few footsteps to the private beach and the sound of the waves are unique. The suite was well equiped and offered enough space for our family of 5, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The distance to the city (restaurants, supermarket, etc.) is easy to walk. We hope, coming back again one day.

Our stay at On the Beach was wonderful! Cathy was gracious and welcoming, and responsive to all our questions. The suite is very comfortable with great access to everything that Tofino has to offer.

The suite is lovely - large windows with ocean views from all the bedrooms and from the beautiful, open concept great room and kitchen. We had some rainy weather and spent several evenings relaxing by the wood burning fireplace. When the weather was nice, we could sit outside and listen to the ocean.
The kitchen was well equipped for our purposes and the convenient laundry room allowed us to pack fewer clothes. We didn't take advantage of the TV, games and books but there was plenty of entertainment available. The Wifi worked well. Cell signal was spotty so we either turned on our phones' "Wifi Calling" option or walked up the driveway where the signal got stronger.
The location is perfect - only 1 km from downtown Tofino on a very quiet, private property surrounded by trees and gardens. From our front door, it was a a few steps to a small beach - a walk we did several times a day because the tides, waves and sky always looked different. From there, we could scramble over rocks to Tonquin Beach or get there via the Tonquin Trail that starts across the road. On our first morning, we hiked 8 km from the door. During the week, we explored a lot of shoreline in Tofino, Pacific Rim National Park and Ucluelet, but the most interesting tidal pools we found were in the Tonquin area.
The hosts, Cathy and Steven, were very hospitable. Cathy gave us great advice about activities and restaurants. We had lots of privacy but we could text Cathy if we had questions or needed anything. We were especially grateful on our first night when we arrived at 6:30 pm in pouring rain after a long day of travel across the country. We were exhausted but planned to drag ourselves into town to find something to eat. It was a wonderful surprise to discover that Cathy had left delicious wild salmon chowder and corn bread for us.
We had a great vacation in Tofino and our accommodation was really special!

A Great Stay
What a fantastic home and location. If you want a family, self-catering stay in Tofino then this is the place to stay.
Clean, fully equipment and right on the beach. Cathy was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed.

Second time staying here!
This was our second time staying at On the Beach and again, loved it! This time we had family stay with us and for 4 adults and a teenager it worked out perfectly. My parents joined us for meals and it was great that 7 of us could sit comfortably at the table to eat and play games or sit in front of the fire. Thank you Cathy - I hope we make this trip an annual tradition!

Beachfront Property
Great location with a semi-private beach. This is a wonderful spot on Tonquin Beach. Quiet. Relaxing. Ocean views from the living room and all of the bedrooms. Close enough to walk into town. There is a wood burning fireplace with wood supplied if you enjoy sitting by a fire. And plenty of board games for entertainment in the evenings. Cathy is an excellent host and responded promptly to all questions upon booking. She lives on site and greeted us at check-in providing suggestions of places to see in the area.
The Owners seem to be updating the place. The main bathroom appears to be recently renovated. The oven and laundry appliances are new and they mentioned they were putting in new beds. Those had not arrived when we were there, but the one I slept in was very comfortable.
The kitchen has the essentials, but if you are planning to do alot of cooking and require something specific you might want to bring it from home or check with the Owner first to see if it is supplied.

This suite overlooks the water and Tonquin beach. Walking distance to town and Tonquin trails. Beautiful location. Three very spacious and comfortable bedrooms. Cozy living space with wood burning fireplace. We loved our time here. Best ever in Tofino!
