We walked all over Savannah from this location. Comfortable for a couple and appreciated the parking spot. Had everything one needs for a short stay.

The carriage house is well situated to walking to all the sites….Forsyth Park just a block away. Easy walk downtown right through the squares. Just a note…if you have mobility issues you need to know that the stairs are steep.

the unit needs an overall cleaning and maintenance. We did not expect peeling paint, mold in the bathroom, etc. The unit is in a good location and the parking stall helps. We enjoyed our time in Savannah, the unit, not so much.

When we arrived the key code was already entered on the lock. I didn’t feel too great about the security of that. The place was pretty clean so that was good. My biggest complaint was that we were given ONE washcloth for two people for a three day stay. Other than that it was adequate and it was nice to have a parking spot.

Perfect location to walk just about anywhere. Stayed 3 nights - and mostly ate out -enjoying all Savannah has to offer.
A hop to beautiful Forsythe Park.
Had to work during the day - WiFi worked perfect for me- I will say- no real chair comfort space for working - which proved to encourage me to get done and get out - The space is very comfortable /clean and just the right size for the 2 of us.
Loved the bed- and both slept well - very quiet!
Highly recommend -especially if your goal is to walk the city!

This was our 1st trip to Savannah and we really enjoyed staying at this perfect little house! It was clean, easy walking distance to everything, and had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here again. We met the owner and he is very nice; we enjoyed talking with him. Would definitely recommend ❤️

Overall, I would recommend a stay at this VRBO. Chatham Square is a three-minute walk and historic Savannah is a 10-15 minute walk. However, there are a few things to be aware of. The parking spot is very narrow, recommend avoiding parking an SUV or larger unless you're ok parking somewhere else. Although there are only 10 steps going upstairs, they are steep and the ceiling at the bottom is low. Keep this in mind for children and/or elderly folks. There's one bedroom with a queen bed and the bedroom is open (no door). Finally, we stayed two nights but only one set of towels were available. This may be something you can work with the property manager prior to check in. At the end of the day, the spot is cozy, nicely situated and has everything you need for a getaway to Savannah.

I was expecting a bright and cozy accommodation. This property was dark, dank and rundown. There was also an odor in the unit.

We loved our trip to Savannah. We’re definitely excited to visit this property again- loved how it has a parking space but is within walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go.

The location was wonderful, only 5 minutes from River Street and surrounded by wonderful shops, coffee shops and restaurants. The parking space is very handy and the apartment was very nice! We enjoyed our stay!

I came to Savannah to attend a granddaughter’s wedding. I’m a recent widow and was not confident that I made the right choice: alley entrance, steep stairs etc. But my fears were unfounded. Yes the stairs are steep, but there were plenty of places to hold onto. The neighborhood is wonderful for walking and lots of nearby restaurants. I took a taxi to/from the airport and then used Uber’s for longer distances. The Carriage House had everything I needed and I would stay here again.

This was a cute and cozy place for 2. Walkable to a lot of options for food and shopping, and the park is steps from the door. The owner lives in the main house and was very friendly and helpful.

It was just what we needed as far as size. Parking is very tight and we got blocked out when workers had parked in the alley. They did move after i asked them to. We would stay there again. The location is perfect for walking everywhere in Savannah.

Spent our first weekend in Savannah and was pleased with our stay.
Pros:
✅Perfect location for walking, taking the Dot Express, etc. to downtown
✅perfect size little country apartment for a weekend getaway
✅the Queen bed at this location is by far the most comfortable bed we have slept on at a VRBO site
Cons/Suggestions:
🛠️: The parking spot is awesome , but it’s only made for COMPACT Cars. Trucks beware!
🛠️: The air conditioner upstairs does not blow enough cold air to keep upstairs cool, perhaps adding a plug in oscillating fan will help.
🛠️: There’s nowhere for women like me to put their makeup/hair products/ bathroom products/ in the bathroom. Suggesting some shelves on the wall or putting in a bathroom

We came to your beautiful city for a destination wedding of a dear friends daughter. This was in the perfect location to the church, venue, and close to others that stayed in this area. We had a wonderful time.

Good location, nice place although those stairs are a little steep! But great bed and shower, useful info in the file for local spots to visit.
Only thing we would say is the toilet paper is the thinnest weve ever used and the coffee was mouldy! And the property could use a bit of a refurb as it smelt a little damp and the bathroom door was coming off its hinges.. wouldnt stop us from recommending it though.

This was near Forsyth park. The area is very pretty and we walked everywhere. There is free shuttle service available. The carriage house was small but perfect for 2 people

The Carriage house was in a great location, able to walk to all the historic places. The house is small and the steps are steep, if you have knee problems or issues with balance it may not be the place for you. Having a parking spot is a big plus, but be warned, we have a Tahoe and it was challenging to get into that spot. Overall it was a good place for us.

Not as close to River front as expected. About a 1 mile walk. Nice park around the corner. Parking space was convenient. A few things to make the space easy to use: clock the bedroom, lights with usb plugs, small table upstairs to put toiletries on, a luggage rack for suitcase. It was an older space, but very clean.

We found that the property served our needs during our trip, but we were not delighted. I like to make breakfast and often turn leftovers into lunch when staying at VRBOs and I found the kitchen to be very lacking in basic tools. The non-stick pans were horrendous! The photos in the listing show the place as bright and airy, but it is actually quite dark and the steps to the upstairs are really tricky. Our main reason for choosing this property over others was the parking--which we could not use. Be aware that the parking place will not accommodate a large vehicle. We found parking a couple blocks away and luckily since it was a weekend, it was free. Given all that, the property is well-located and we had a very nice time in Savannah.

We were looking for a property that was within walking distance of the historic district and this location could not have been any better. We parked the car (off street!) and walked everywhere for 3 days. The location was very quiet and the unit contained everything we needed. My overall rating was only four stars because the property is very dark - no sunlight enters the downstairs during the day and in the evening the main source of light is one large overhead fixture. For us the unit was not conducive to spending a lot of time in. We also found the bed uncomfortable; it was very thick foam that made it hard to roll over. Others might like that type of mattress.

This place is absolutely delightful! The perfect size for the two of us, cozy and well decorated. Very easy check in and out and the location was superb in relation to all of the walking we wanted to do. We did not rent a car and planned to walk everywhere. It was well within walking distance of River Street, the tours, museums and restaurants. We will definitely plan to return and if it's just my husband and I, we will book here again. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

This was a great place to stay! I love this area and all the historic buildings and monuments. All of them were within walking distance from this carriage house. And a personal parking spot was a great bonus! Hope to return one day!

We stayed in the carriage house M-F for a Savannah exploration. The negatives were mostly minor. Needs a thorough cleaning of fixtures and baseboards. The musty smell was a lot after leaving and returning, but you become nose blind once you’re in for a while. Major surfaces (bed, bathroom) were clean. Bed was comfortable. Stairs were steep but not a problem for us. Very basic DirecTv pkg did not even cover ESPN with no option for streaming or logging into our own subscriptions (we were rarely there anyway so no biggie). The biggest inconvenience was inability to control the temp. It was unseasonably hot for our visit, which was great! But the temp upstairs in the bedroom was uncomfortable. Also if you are light sensitive for sleeping, bring a sleep mask. The house in front had blinding lights on all night long. Again-very minor details because the location was AMAZING and being able to park on-site was even more amazing. We moved our car once (for a day trip to Tybee). We walked the rest of the time. The proximity to Forsyth Park and the ability to walk everywhere downtown made any minor issues negligible. We would definitely stay here again. Do not underestimate the ability to park and leave your car!
