This location is absolutely stunning! Dunes, ocean, wild horses, sunrises and sunsets, 4x4 beach! It is a remote playground. Not to mention all the fun exploring and sites within minutes or just a few hours if you want to get out to explore. The house was great. Perfect for a couple or small family. Everything you’ll need in a kitchen - literally! And those views….🤩 We spent Christmas weekend here and could t have imagined a better experience. Angi was responsive and accommodating and with an impending storm, she even let us check in early so we could access the house with no issues. Everyone has said these things hut I will repeat for prosperity: 4 wheel drive is a must and yes, you will see wild horses at least one day of your stay! We have already recommended the house to anyone who asks based off our incredible photos and we cannot wait to come back for a warm weather visit!

Property was well furnished with everything you need and location is great. Only thing I wish we'd known ahead of time is that owner lives next door. Wasn't a problem for us but, always in the back of our mind being watched-might have made a difference in deciding to rent. Other issue is that ad states having wi-fi and never did have access, owner never offered any compensation for it. Was a real problem and would be for most.

Let me begin with the wonderful host, they are really nice people, they make us feel very confortable, the place is amazing and close to the beautiful beach, YOU WILL NEED A 4X4 TRUCK. If you looking to connect with nature, and also yourself this is the best place, quiet, peaceful and beautiful. 100% recommended.

You need to add this to your bucket list! To have the wild horses come right up to the house was amazing! The house was great! We enjoyed the hammocks and sitting out on the decks. Would definitely come back!!!

Great place to stay, away from the beaten path. Horse's came to cottage several times. Saw 4 on the beach at waters edge on the 1st day. We had our small dogs, so the place worked out great for them. Peaceful, The owner was great, Takes a while to get to stores and supplies so go prepared. Definitely need 4 wheel drive, the sand is loose in some places, Thanks Angie for a great peaceful stay.

I am writing this review a few weeks after our stay but I cannot recommend this rental property & the OBX area enough. It was just a great week in so many different ways! Driving up the 4x4 beach area was a pretty cool experience. The videos of my wife driving up the beach will be forever unforgettable. The property itself is/was exactly as advertised! It is a nice, relaxing location with some pretty scenic views. By mid-week I kind of accepted the fact that I might not actually see any Corolla Wild Horses. This even after driving around and up to Carova combined with following some of the horse tour groups around like an out-of-place tourist. However, driving back from Duck, somewhat late, from an early dinner just out of the blue there were two (2) small groups of horses that had come down to the beach probably due to the storm that blew in. It was a pleasant surprise and a really nice way to complete our vacation! Not much else to say other than... Awesome OBX!

We was visiting our daughter in North Carolina for the month of February and wanted to take a 5 night brake to the Outer Banks. Never been before but had heard much are really wanted to experience it. However, we wanted to find something that was set in the natural surroundings of the the dunes. Finding “Smooth Sailing” ticked all the boxes and on arrival was not disappointed. A lovely comfortable authentic beach house in a great private location. The drive to the house along the beach and up and over the dunes was a wonderful extra to the holiday, along with a visit from the wild horses. The owners have put everything in place to make your stay as comfortable and easy as possible, great people to deal with. We fully recommend and would not hesitate to go back. Do make sure you have a proper 4x4 and you will have a great time

This property was the perfect getaway for us on the outer banks of North Carolina. You need a 4 x 4 to get here by the beach outside Corolla but it is well worth the trip. Great beach home will all of the needed amenities. We could see wild horses in the dunes close by everyday. Anji the owner was extremely responsive - we will be back!

We were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary, and this was the perfect getaway! The listing and photos are accurate. The beach is a quick 5 minute walk away, but you can see enjoy the views from the decks on the 2nd and 3rd floors. We really enjoyed hanging out on the porch and watching the sunrise as well as being able to see the horses that wandered thru the yard.

Overall was a wonderful experience. Saw horses each day. The 4x4 beach way was fun to explore. The house was in a great area and cozy. Would come back again. Home owner lived close, accommodating and very friendly…

Loved sitting on the upper deck enjoying the sights and sounds of the surf and natural surroundings. The partial roof was helpful during brief but frequent rain showers. Although the place could use some remodeling upgrades, it is a homey, down to earth beach cottage as advertised.

We had alot of horses and they actually walk under the house to get out of the sun. The outdoor showers was a favorite of mine. One nite we were lucky enough to have Moose stop by (neighbors dog) he laid next to us on the porch and had some snacks. I walked him home after about an hour, he was tired and it was dark. He could see his mom, but he didn’t want to leave. If he comes over, there is a dog dish on the fridge. Great place to relax and enjoy the Ocean.
