Fabulous Marrowstone Island retreat
Awesome location with lovely view of Killsut Harbor. A very quiet and private location for a relaxing getaway. The house has plenty of supplies and lots of interesting historical items. Whether you plan to explore the surrounding area or just want to get away from it all, this is a charming place to stay. And to top it off, Nancy is a very responsive host!

Tranquility in Abundance
The description and pictures do not do justice to this amazing home. It is really a little piece of heaven where you can work, recharge or relax - or a little of all three - your choice. Morning coffee on the deck overlooking the water was best part of my day! The flora and fauna are totally magical and add to the beauty and tranquility. There are so many amenities here, we needed a longer stay to take advantage of them - like clamming and kayaking.
The furniture and bedding were all very comfortable and made for wonderful sleeping and relaxing. In about 20 minutes or so you can also be in Port Townsand with many restaurants and shops on the water.
This was a perfect weekend getaway for us - wish we could have stayed longer!

Marrowstone Island, a wonderful week in early autumn, 2021.
We, my dear friend of 51 years and I, loved our week at your home on Marrowstone Island. It had been nine years since we had a little getaway just the two of us and your awesome abode was a wonderful choice.
Your home, inside or outside on the deck, is the quietest place either of us have ever stayed. Having an undeveloped forested island across the water in front of us added hugely to the serenity of the place. We loved watching the water, whether rippling or flat, and the sky with ever changing cloud formations passing by was sort of mesmerizing. We woke up to thick fog one morning and as it disbursed we saw a parade of Canadian geese silently swimming by the house. The evening skies were beautiful.
The house was very well supplied with all the basics and much more. The décor was very cool, everywhere one looked there was something interesting to see, very beachy and nautical. It was great to have a fireplace of an evening when it was a little blustery outside.
We’d both been to Fort Flagler many years ago but enjoyed checking it out again. It was fun visiting several other beaches on both sides of the island as well. We went into Pt. Townsend for a couple lunches and we had to return to places we hadn’t been to in decades, like Fort Worden.
One day we drove to Sequim and had an excellent Thai lunch at Sawadee Restaurant.
We had to hit the Ajax Café for our last dinner. We used to go there for special occasions back in the 80s and 90s all the way from West Seattle and we were so glad to see it open. The décor has changed but it still feels right and the food was great.
Your home, in its wonderful setting, was good for our souls. And my friend and I had a blast just hanging out together. Thanks so much for sharing your piece of paradise.

Quintessential Pacific NW experience
The experience of staying in this beautiful home is even more delightful, relaxing and remarkable than the photos and the on-target description portray. We felt like welcome guests as we enjoyed the warmth of family history with this extensive property. Fun to explore the meadow and orchard, as well as the beach----and expansive water views at all times. The loons, the kingfishers, the seals, the sunrises and sunsets. Not easy to leave the wonderful deck for great excursions to the many nearby parks and beaches, Marrowstone Winery in its pretty setting less than a mile away, Finnriver Farm and Cidery and the Chimacum Corner Farmstand ten minutes away, and Port Townsend not much further.

This home is unique in its setting. It is so peaceful, private and relaxing. When the tide came in you could hear the waves lapping at the shore under the old historic boathouse. Owners come from a family of avid sailors and have been a part of Marrowstone for many years. It was a rejuvenating stay, particularly enjoyed the full moon setting across the bay! Owner was very responsive and clearly loves the property.

Second Time Around - Even More Peace and Joy
This was our second stay - we were here two years ago and couldn't wait to come back last year but COVID got in the way. We were delighted to return this week with the same friends and recreate the wonderful memories. This time was even more magical - the house is incredibly comfortable and just feels like home, only better. The view is breathtaking. We felt so fortunate and will be back next year if possible.

Our family came all the way from Florida to stay at Nancy and Pat's home for our summer vacation! And I mean "home" in every sense of the word. It wasn't just a house. We truly felt like we were staying with family and were honored to have been granted the privilege to enjoy such a special place. Both the house and property are even more beautiful than pictured. We enjoyed watching the deer wander through the meadow and our youngest loved helping us dig clams for dinner. We had a few day trips planned in Olympic National Park, but our older girls would have been to content to stay at the house and enjoy the unsurpassable views. The house is stocked with everything you could ever need and more and you can feel the many years of love put into each room. We hope to return one day, as this property has provided so many unforgettable memories for our family! We can't thank Nancy and Pat enough. What a gem!

My husband and I and our two teenage sons just completed a 5-day stay and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity. The property is breathtaking - the view of the water and trees and the acres of orchard and land at the front of the house are remarkable. Though there is so much hiking to do and beauty to see on the peninsula, we rarely left the property. We spent our time on the kayaks and canoe provided, investigating all the ocean life on the beach, and relaxing on the deck. The house is filled with antiques and treasures and we felt it takes a very special family of owners to so openly share this with their guests. We hope to return in the not-so-distant future!

The pictures do not do this property justice. It is so lovingly maintained and a special place. If you love nature and being a way from the crowds, this is your spot. We enjoyed just hanging at the house but we also went hiking in the Hoh Rainforest (a long but beautiful drive), went shopping, shelling, and whale watching in Port Townsend, You have to drive but you don’t mind because you return to paradise. We hope to be back-thank you for sharing your home.

Our family (including two older teenage daughters) stayed at this home and had a wonderful time. The location is very quiet, as it faces another island that is owned by the Navy so there are no homes or buildings you can see. The bay between is calm and accessible (they have kayaks and a canoe if you want to go out). We are landlubbers, so we were fascinated by the beach that appears at low tide, covered with clam and oyster shells and crabs. The house itself is well kept and architecturally interesting - we really liked the layout. The deck was probably the best thing - sitting out and watching the water or the hummingbirds visiting a feeder. We used it as a jumping point to visit Olympic park or other nearby parks, but the property was a nice place to hang out at during quiet days.

The house and setting were as good as the pictures! Extremely comfortable and incredibly scenic. We had been to Port Townsend many times but knew nothing about Marrowstone Island and it was a great discovery. Very easy to reach from Seattle and a nice quiet alternative to Whidbey or the San Juans.

Beautiful vacation home!!!
The location is perfect! The house was well designed to take in views of Puget Sound and the natural setting. We enjoyed seeing grazing deer at the front of the house and racoons digging in the sand at low tide for their breakfast. The house has a lot of character and everything you could possibly need in a home. Bring a good book and DVD's for evenings. Pat is a super hostess! The house has been owned by the same family for 2 generations; once there, one feels like an extension of their family! Thank you for a delightful and relaxing stay! Nancy & Ed

Wonderful Marrowstone Island Retreat
My mom and I spent our annual Fall trip at this amazing property on Kilisut Harbor and we couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. The house is situated beautifully and we had a hard time dragging ourselves away from the incredible water views. We saw seals, otters, deer, raccoons, and lots of birds. The house was well-stocked and was very comfortable and welcoming. Definitely feels like someone's loved home, rather than a rental. If you can drag yourself away from the views, there's lots to do in the area and we made trips to Port Townsend (don't miss the Farmers Market, if you get the chance) and Poulsbo (Sluy's Bakery). On the island, Fort Flagler is a great park to visit and do not miss the Nordland General Store (try the Whidbey Island Ice Cream Co. bars) The Olympic Peninsula is my happy place and this house manages to capture everything I love about the area in one place. It's a gem!

Home away from home
My husband and I were lucky enough to score this spot for our honeymoon for a whole week! I can’t imagine anything more perfect! It was beyond cozy and completely stocked with everything you would need! The views are next level, the grounds couldn’t be more beautiful and peaceful, and the wild life visitors are immense. We were so excited to see countless hummingbirds up close while relaxing on the back patio, deer every morning on the front yard, raccoons on the beach at night, a few seals or river otters swimming off shore. The beach combing was great right on the property! Fort Flagler had great beach combing and we gave a good effort of fishing with just a few little fish we caught and released. We really loved taking a day trip into Port Townsend for the annual boat festival and we did the hike from North Beach to glass beach to collect some sea glass. It was a long 8 mile hike there and back but totally worth it! We ate out a few times which we enjoyed every time! A short drive to Port Hadlock and Scampi and Halibuts was yummy! Breakfast in Port Townsend at Blue Moose Cafe is a must!!! We took the bikes to Mystery Bay and it was a great ride, we attempted going to Fort Flagler but we aren’t bikers and it was a little harder than we expected and turned around lol. The bikes work great with good working helmets. One afternoon we took the canoe out and fished from the Kilisut Harbor without any success as expected but it was beautiful and peaceful! The canoes and kayaks are in great working condition with an endless supply of life jackets! One of my favorite little touches at this property was the well stocked rain boots and rain jackets, we thankfully used the boots for beach combing and the house slippers for staying clean and cozy inside! Thank you so much Pat for offering your home, we couldn’t be happier with our stay and looking forward to coming back next year!

Perfection!!
There are not enough words to capture the "perfection" of this home and Pat Lantz. We just felt blessed the entire visit. The natural beauty, the island (Nordland Gen. Store ice cream), no small detail overlooked in the home, soo clean...The property is not a rental but a home you have been invited into. One felt Pat was the friend next door vs the property owner. It was my Dad's 72nd Bremerton High School reunion and this location with all "its magic" was absolutely perfect as my parents had traveled from NC for this reunion. They LOVED it as my husband and I did.
Winnie the Pooh probably said it the best, :How lucky I am to have something that makes saying good bye so hard."
Thank you Pat for making this trip incredibly special.

Love, love, love
We could not Imagine a more lovely natural setting to get unplugged, recharge our batteries and enjoy spending time with friends. The house is even nicer than the photos. The beds were firm and incredibly comfortable. The house felt like a home. It was so quiet sitting on the deck we could hear the whooshing of the wings of a bird as it flew above us. We watched a heron wading in the water catching fish, as well as a seal floating by, and there were deer outside the front door in the early morning and evening. The bay is also perfect for kayaking. If it sounds like heaven, it is. Thank you Pat for sharing this unique and beautiful experience.

Beautiful and relaxing
There are two rooms with very comfortable mattresses. A full kitchen and bbq outside. A cool boathouse and private beach with rocks. There are kayaks to explore the water. We were visited by a family of deer every morning and evening. We also saw seals, raccoons and a bald eagle. The deck is amazing. We spent much of our time there with an unforgettable view having coffee in the morning and dinner at night. There is a fire pit for s’mores too. There is a little store about 3 minutes away with DVDs, ice cream, beer and other things. The supermarket and a few places to eat about 10 minutes away and a Port Townsend is 30 minutes. We explored the fort and beach searching for jade and seashells and a great swirl ice cream.
We had a wonderful stay.

I wish it were mine
This home is quiet and beautiful. The morning light flows in from the east, lighting up a meadow with deer, and the setting sun shines on the westward, water side. The owner has provided many thoughtful touches -- a large and literate library, coffee and coffee filters, spices for cooking, Netflix on the TV, binoculars to view the sea otters, to name a few. We live on the east coast, and hope to return next summer.
