La structure à deux étages offre une vue sur le mont Mitchell et parfois un ours et ses oursons. Il est l'endroit idéal pour profiter d'un dîner de famille et un film ou pour planifier l'aventure du lendemain. Beautiful home sitting high above Little Switzerland. Very comfortable, cozy for two but, with three floors, roomy enough for more. The lower was equipped with a kitchen, shower, beds and game room.Loved the gas fireplaces! Great open kitchen for preparing meals. Sunrise and sunset on the decks with cocktails, overlooking Mount Mitchel! Loved this home! Lois was available quick to respond for questions and assistance. She is a charm!! Thank you!

R Place was the perfect spot for our Smoky Mountain vacation. The views were breathtaking and loved the fact of it being secluded in a mountain setting. Was extremely clean and was stocked with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the book that Lois had available that told the story of how her family built the cabin . Lois was very responsive with any questions we had. Would love to stay here again and would highly recommend this quaint setting!

My husband and I were looking for the natural beauty of the NC mountains, but with solitude away from other houses and traffic, etc. We got that and so much more! The house is wonderful! The view off the back porches is breathtaking. We could really tell that the owners had tried to prepare for their visitors. They had many "little" extras, like coffee filters, salt and pepper, extra blankets, a toaster. My husband loved the pool table in the basement! The one lane gravel road in is not for the faint of heart. My husband is used to this sort of road, so it is not a problem for us, but do be prepared, probably with an all-wheel, 4-wheel, etc. vehicle. We fell in love with this home and hope to come back to visit again, maybe bringing our family next time! Thanks for a wonderful visit!

The cabin was nice and clean with all the all you could need. It was just my wife and I but could easily sleep 6 to 8 and not feel crowded. We were searching for relief from the SC heat and the NC mountains fit the bill. The mornings and evenings were great on the deck looking at the high mountains in the near distance. The cabin was at 3800'.

Beautiful cabin tucked away in sweet Little Switzerland! Great neighborhood and close to the Blue Ridge Parkway! House had everything we needed, great views, comfy beds, stocked kitchen and the jetted tub was amazing! Will always try and stay here on our visits to NC, wonderful place, thank you!

While we used this rental functionally - to house a disc golf team during a competition - the location and ambience make for an unbelievable stay. It is beautiful, relaxing, and met our every need including cost effectiveness. Highly recommended for whatever your vacation might require.

We feel so lucky to have stumbled across this property. Check in was easy, the owner was responsive, the views were incredible, and the house had everything we needed and more. I would recommend making the trip with a four wheel drive vehicle because of the narrow gravel road up to the house.

We had an amazing stay at 194 R Place. I have been coming to NC every year of my life for vacation (71 years) and have visited Little Switzerland many times. BUT, this is my first stay in this cabin that seems to be at the top of the world! The views are breathtaking and I loved the drive up and down the scenic driveway. This was my husband's first trip to North Carolina's awesome mountains. He is enthralled. There are plenty of activities in the area, but this was a rest and relax vacation and this setting allowed us to do both in a beautiful settibg.

Everything was fine, great experience overall. Only problem was the 1 mile long winding, gravel road to the cabin. Very difficult to navigate on a motorcycle.

We loved staying here! The house was certainly big enough for the two of us, so we mostly stayed confined to the first floor with the majority of our time on the deck enjoying the spectacular western view.
House was well stocked, clean, and Lois’ communication about directions were very clear. Heartily recommend!

Super place for a family reunion . We’re able to drive to many hikes , views to the mountains - lovely . Porches on front and back well used , fully stocked kitchen and excellent grill . Nice holiday !

Mountain Getaway
We enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at this charming, rustic cabin. The views were spectacular! The only downside was the long (1 mile +) one-lane dirt road that was rather difficult driving up the mountain in a sedan.

Well-Situated and Private Mountain Getaway
Very special location and views. Mount Mitchell to the far left. Thoughtful features including night lights and plenty of hot water (2 hot water heaters in basement). The narrow, gravel road was a challenge for my city sedan, but I suppose that comes with a private, high-country site.

The house was great with a great view. The kids enjoyed the game area in the basement and it was nice having the kid's bedrooms upstairs. The only thing to make it perfect would be to have a TV in the living room downstairs as well. Once the young kids went to bed, we really couldn't watch TV, but we made due. Overall, it was a great house and close to the activities we wanted to do.

It rained everyday but didn’t stop us from having a great time! We got awesome pics and loved the raccoon on the mantle. The cabin and the mountains are beautiful.

The house was beautiful and comfortable. You can cook, relax, play pool and watch the sun setting near Mt. Mitchell. The house is near lLitle Switzerland, where you can find restaurants and a wonderful bookstore.

Amazing Stay and Space
If you are looking to enjoy the peace and tranquility of Appalachian Mountains, this is the place to do it. Amazing views accentuate this wonderful property. Plenty of room (and bathrooms) for multiple families to vacation together or for a group to go away on a retreat. The price point is fantastic and for what you get. Highly recommended!

Perfect weekend in an incredible house. We rent a cabin every year…this is my favorite so far. Great space, stunning views, and clean. Comfortable beds, and more than we expected. The driveway was fun to navigate in our pickup truck; lots of squeals on the narrow gravel with steep drops, but the directions were great, and we had a blast. So thankful and grateful for this place. Plenty of linens for our group of 6. The basement was great, there were a few friendly crickets and insects down there, but for a cabin that is expected! Fireplaces were wonderful. We loved reading the history of the house, and can’t wait to go back. We also visited Mt Mitchell, and it was incredible.

Magical Fall Getaway
I stayed here with my husband, daughter (3) and MIL for a long weekend and could not have been happier! Everything we needed for our stay was provided and the house was perfectly cleaned. The foosball and pool tables downstairs were great fun, and the decks on both levels were the perfect vantage point for the amazing sunsets! The location is definitely remote, but you can be on the Blue Ridge parkway in under 15 minutes. Would absolutely stay here again.

My toddler loved climbing all the stairs and enjoyed visiting each floor. She wore herself out good on climbing steps I would definitely bring my family back to this secluded peaceful place!
