This home is phenomenal! It is secluded enough to be peaceful and close enough to the city to be convenient. Communicating with the owner was extremely easy; we ran out of firewood one morning, sent Brian a message, he responded within 15 minutes to let us know where the storage of firewood was located. The house had everything we needed: sleds for our children, a hot tub, a stocked kitchen, WiFi, even a small back house with a bathroom. Every morning we fed the birds and squirrels that were waiting in the trees, right off the back deck around 7:15 am. Perfect for families!
Our family would love to come back and see this property in the summer, though it was also magical in the winter - one of the most beautiful homes we’ve ever stayed in.

What a fabulous place to stay. Up in the Forest about 20-25 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. Such a special place. Adorable squirrels and birds everywhere. Our first drive through the forest was a little hairy, but got easier and easier each time. Every need was thought through in the house. Highly recommended!!

We booked for 8 days in early October (unwittingly booked during balloon fiesta) in order to fully explore Northern NM. The cabin is well situated for all our adventures. And we went on MANY. LANL, Bandolier, Valles Caldera, Jemez Mountains and Santa Fe National Forrest (which is literally out the front door).
This ranks at the top. I was particularly impressed that Brian, the owner, stopped by on night one to introduce himself and allow us to pick his brain on places we might enjoy.
Booking online is always a crap shoot, but you simply cannot go wrong with this wonderful place and host.

Brian’s property was perfect. The pictures do not do it justice. We had a small issue with a tree limb rubbing the roof of the guest house which was making a noise in the wind. Brian addressed it immediately. I am reluctant to even bring up this issue because everything was so perfect. I just wanted to express how quick he responded to my message. The hummingbirds on the beautiful deck are so tame that they will rest on your finger while they’re eating. That was an unexpected treat. We will definitely stay here again if we ever travel to the Santa Fe area. Thanks again Brian!

I had seen this property several times in my searches for the Santa Fe area (as we try to visit a couple times a year), but we chose other places for various reasons.
This time we thought it would be nice to stay in the cabin away from it all. Brian has done a wonderful job on the house. It is beautiful and situated in the National Forest. It is well equipped with everything you will need. He leaves food for the birds so you can feed them everyday. The hummingbirds are amazing - non stop out the front door.
If you want to stay somewhere away from it all this is the place for you.
Distance wise it’s not far from the plaza, however time wise it takes a bit longer given the unpaved road which is clearly noted in the description. Once you get back on the paved road it’s a short 15+ minutes to town.
We have stayed in Tesuque before and enjoy the area which is beautiful.
We had a couple minor issues and reached out to Brian, he addressed them right away.

This is a very comfortable house in a beautiful, quiet location in the forest. The host was super friendly and helpful and we always appreciate being able to have our dog with us. We plan on returning!

Amazing cabin with all amenities in a beautiful with a running creek just outside the door

The house is lovely and suited our needs well. The last bit of road was quite rough, but Brian warned us and we made sure to drive all wheel and four wheel drive vehicles that handled the road well. We were surrounded in nature and quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans, seasonings, and condiments, so it was easy to cook big family meals. The kids enjoyed exploring the creek in front of the house and finding all the gnomes. We came home exhausted each evening from skiing all day, but truly enjoyed snuggling up together on the couch to play games and watch a movie or two.

I stay away from home nearly half the year. This property was one of my best stays away from home. Brian made sure that everything was perfect. From the hot tub by the creek to the efficiency of the cabin, this property was magical…. and I never leave reviews on anything. So worth the trip and a will most definitely return for another stay in the future.

I cannot say enough good things about Brian's home in the forest. I had been eyeing this property for years and am so glad that we finally had the opportunity to stay there. It was absolutely magical. The house was perfect, the surroundings were perfect. It is a beautiful home in a beautiful setting. Even with the snow, it was an easy drive into Santa Fe but when we were at home in the house, we felt like we were in our own little world.
Brian, thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

Love this home! Phenomenal communication with Brian! Rooms and beds so comfortable. Tucked in the forest, listening to the stream. Loved the radiant heating, having warm toes in the am. The squirrels and blue cardinals looking for breakfast each am. The road is very bumpy, and recommend arriving before dark. It had snowed in this area prior to our arrival, which was a challenge with our vehicle in the dark. Would absolutely stay here again! Thank you again Brian!

Beautiful home in the mountains, tall pines, aspens, the sound of a running stream, nature, quiet, excellent place to get away, hiking/biking trails or just sitting and taking in nature. The house was the most well prepared with amenities than any other VRBO rental we have stayed. The host Brian was client focused, reaching out to make sure everything need was in place, that we were satisfied with our venue and provided all it check in and arrival information needed to make every aspect of our stay enjoyable.
Our group had an excellent stay and most certainly would return.
Thank you Brian for a great moutain experience!!

This cabin is right near a creek with aspen and pine trees. It has beautiful patios, skylights and is comfortable stocked and decorated with local art. I loved the details of the hummingbird feeder and all the birds and squirrels right of the deck. It's up a bumpy dirt road about a mile so it's helpful to bring your food in on your first trip in. So beautiful and comfortable.

Beautiful scenery with a beautiful house! Owner was very accommodating. Loved the hummingbirds and other wildlife around. SUV recommended for road to the house since it's in the middle of a national forest - but that's what makes it such a neat experience.

Great family vacation
Just finished a great week at the house. The whole family loved the hot tub nice a toasty 104😁. The landscape was so beautiful, immersed in the woods with a lovely following brook; leave the slider open at night, great way to fall asleep. We we’re very happy to see many staples in the house start when we arrived condiments herbs spices plenty of paper towels tinfoil saran wrap etc. Yes the road was bumpy we rented a Ford Explorer which made it no problem and the views going around up and down the mountain where amazing couple great lookout points for sunsets. Would definitely come back. Brian was very helpful and responsive. Thanks Brian

This is a perfect setting, you are way above Santa Fe in the woods this is the place for you if you like to get away from it all, lot's of hummingbirds and birds you get to feed. The cabin is very unique, great kitchen with everything you need to make a wonderful meal, all the windows and doors open and have screens so you can get all that mountain air, it has a steam shower, the hot tub is down by the creek and was clean, I can't say enough good things about this place. The road is a bit ruff but well worth it.

This was suppose to be an epic family vacation of shopping in Santa Fe and hiking and biking the trails around the area. The ridiculous trail closures not the fires themselves put a damper on the mtb riding and hiking.
But the cabin was a joy to stay in albeit the road leading to the cabin was a teeth rattler. Apparently it is never maintained for whatever reason. But the cabin was a joy to stay in and well stocked with all you could need. The road in aside, it’s a great place to stay.

Wonderful experience
The entire experience of this VRBO was excellent. The "cabin" is a spacious and fully that easily integrates with the main building. We were four couples and had plenty of room to be together and separate when appropriate.
Communication and support from Brian, our host, was always quick and responsive. He stopped by twice during our five-day stay which added a personal touch that was not intrusive.
In response to the review comments about the challenges of the access road, the concerns are exaggerated. Just drive a bit more slowly.

Entwined with Nature!
We were a family of 5 + our lab. Had a great time! This place is beautiful! The house is well appointed with thoughtful touches. Brian is great to work with. Very responsive to emails.
It is the perfect distance from Santa Fe. You really feel like you are getting away. Enjoyed the hot tub every night under the stars...no light pollution at all! My husband is a builder and appreciated all the green products (LEED)!
Can't wait to schedule a return trip...Thank you Brian!!
