I almost hate to write this review, because I would love to keep this beach house my little secret. A beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers welcomed our arrival to this well maintained gem. And then you are drawn to the amazing sun porch that overlooks the patio and beach. I have to be honest, I did spend a lot of time curled up under a throw blanket on the porch. And there are plenty of throw blankets! Which I have found to be very rare in a vacation rental. The decor is pretty and really relates to the area which is a nice touch. The beds are comfortable and the bedding is cozy. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, plenty of plates and glassware. A quick drive into Gloucester to the grocery store for food, marshmallows and firewood. And a 2 minute walk to the corner store for anything we might have forgotten. We spent our days walking the beach searching for sea glass and shells. Plenty of corn hole tournaments were had on the seaside lawn. Evenings were spent around the fire chatting about who was going to be brave enough to jump off the pier into the frigid ocean. Sure enough on Saturday, as the “rock” finally became submerged 3 of our bravest made the leap! We celebrated their courage that night by walking to the local pub and singing karaoke into the wee hours. We had such an amazing time here at the Magnolia Beach House. We can't wait to get back and try out the kayaks and swim during a warmer time. Bob, our host was perfect! Checking in occasionally to make sure things were going well. He did have to stop by on our last day to “batten down the hatches” because a storm was rolling in. But he contacted us beforehand to check and make sure that it was all right to come by. It was great to meet him and get a chance to chat.

It was a perfect spot for 2 pre-teens to explore and be active on the beach while I could sit back and relax in the back yard without getting sandy and still have a visiual of the kids the entire time.

Our stay was perfect - the house is nice and location is beautiful. And Bob, the host, was very helpful and responsive whenever we had any questions during the booking process and during our stay.

Our extended family was in town for the holidays and this proved to be the perfect spot for them to stay. Bob was a great host and went out of his way to ensure that everything was perfect for our family.

Family converged from across the country to neutral location. Turned out to be sublime. A comfortable setting; it instantly felt like a home we'd lived in for years. House easily handled extended family for Thanksgiving, including feast, recreation, accommodations. Cooking and serving was easy and comfortable. Abandoned plans to sojourn to Boston; plenty to do or just chill within walking distance in Magnolia. Owners thought of everything we could need or want from a vacation stay.

The beach house is extremely comfortable, well cared for, and centrally located with respect to a fantastic geographic area of the East coast - Hats off to the owners !

The experience at Bob's home was truly amazing. When we walked into the home there were 2 beautiful bouquets of flowers that were just gorgeous. The view took your breath away. It was stunning. We had a pretty large group of women with us but were never on top of each other. The enclosed porch was our favorite hang out spot unless we were outside. We were blessed with almost 80° temps in Nov. so we were outside a lot! We did a lot of cooking and never lacked a pot or kitchen tool. We enjoyed beach bonfires at night and early morning walks each day. There is such a great sense of community. We stopped and chatted with a few neighbors and enjoyed petting plenty of pups. There was plenty of sleeping areas and all the beds were comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! Bob went above and beyond for us. I had quite a few questions and he graciously answered all of them in a timely matter. We appreciated all if it! From the flowers to acquiring some fire wood for us and preparing an airmatress for us. We are all so thankful for the memories we made at this beautiful home. Thank you for such amazing hospitality. This is by far the best location we’ve had the opportunity to rent. Great location, beautiful beach and home. Very comfortable inside and out. Bob was great! Very good communication before, during and after check out. We will for sure be back and highly recommend this location to everyone.

A great location for our family to stay for a week before a wedding

We spent a wonderful, relaxing week here. The ocean views were incredible! The pictures were good on line but stunning in person. You can’t beat the location! We enjoyed fishing at near by Norman’s Woe and Rockport. No keepers, but the ocean views made up for that. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Of course, we enjoyed a couple dinners out. There are so many great restaurants to chose from. But we mostly cooked in and as I mention the kitchen was very well stocked. The WiFi was excellent as well, since I unfortunately had to work. But the view from my ‘desk’ was pretty amazing! Bob, the host, was so attentive. We had a problem with the grill, which turned out to be a user issue. But Bob was there to help us! We would definitely stay here again! It’s about the views and the location!

Just spent 8 glorious HOT days on the beach in Magnolia. Property location is absolutely beautiful. The house had no A/C to speak of but, thank goodness for a nice breeze each night. The dampness inside was an issue and had to empty the dehumidifier twice each day. Mattresses need to be replaced but it is a beach cottage and not the Ritz. Bob, the owner was GREAT and was local to help with any questions or concerns. I would recommend this rental cottage to anyone looking for a beachie vacation with an unbelievable view. Ted

When my family of ten first arrived at the Magnolia Ocean Front Beach House we were amazed at the breathtaking ocean view. The house had everything you would need to enjoy every moment during your stay. The garage was stocked with kayaks, paddle board, corn hole, pails, shovels, beach chairs and every item for toddlers up to retirees to enjoy. The owners (Bob and Lisa) were wonderful to work with and they responded immediately when we contacted them. We have rented many VRBO Homes and this was by far the BEST!! Thank you, Bob and Lisa….

This property has everything anyone could want for a beach vacation. The location can’t be beat. The cottage is very very clean and nicely furnished. The beds are comfortable. The beach is lovely. The owner has shared all the outdoor equipment anyone could need. Wonderful all around.

What an incredible house! Private beach with sand and water that is all yours that you don’t have to fight anyone for. Impeccable views from the enclosed porch which the photos do no justice for. The porch has almost panoramic views and is very large. Very quiet area and close to everything: 15 minutes to Gloucester, 15 minutes to Salem, 25 minutes to Rockport and 45 minutes to Boston. Everything you need is in the house and you couldn’t ask for a better host as Bob who responded to every question I had almost immediately. We are already planning 2 more trips back.

Came into the area to celebrate our daughter’s graduation and spend time with family. This cozy cottage provided a perfect venue for this endeavor. The location on Magnolia Beach can’t be beat. Perfect for beach combing and swimming. Kayaks around the island out front. Pier jumping a block away. Convenience store for essentials half a block. Walking distance to a good coffee shop and restaurants. The house itself has a nice little patio beach front as well as lawn. Comfy porch with amble seating to enjoy your morning coffee with the morning waves. The smallish kitchen has a good breakfast bar and space to communicate to those at the table or in the living room with views through to the porch and outside. Windows open up well to move the ocean breeze through. 3 bedrooms upstairs share clean bathroom and shower. Downstairs has a spartan bunk area and sofa for the kids with a toilet in the laundry rooms of the side. Another TV sets in front of a sofa and chairs. While another more complete queen size bedroom is adjacent to another full bathroom. We were welcomed to town by fresh flowers and easy communication from the owner that lives near by. We’re planning to head back next year with 3 couples to enjoy it once again.

Such a fantastic beach house! The location is ideal. Very quiet yet close to restaurants, shops, coastline walks and ocean fun. A perfect family beach house with everything you need to enjoy playing on the lawn or in the sand. Think: Pier jumping, paddle boarding, campfires…a post card view with dreamy ocean surf sounds and salt water smells to lull you to sleep at night. Very relaxing. It’s a quintessential New England vacation spot. Can’t wait to go back!

What a wonderful place to make memories! We loved the ocean view, the sound of the waves, and a clean, cozy place to stay together. We wanted to hang out, catch the sun's rays, walk the beach and go whale watching. We did all this and more during our stay. Our host Bob, was so accommodating. Great experience!!

Plenty of room for them 5 of us. The sunroom view is postcard perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed including a pot that was big enough to cook 5 live lobsters. The kids found lots of sea glass on the beach. We had a fire in the fire pit as well as in the fireplace. Bob was a great host. He returned emails and texts quickly. He was very polite and wanted to ensure we were happy at the house. I would highly recommend staying here. Bob, thank you again for a wonderful vacation.

We had an amazing girls weekend on the ocean. Bob was very easy to reach if we had any questions. The private secluded beach was amazing to walk and find shells and the home had everything we needed. Will definitely book again!
