The villa was most comfortable. The covered decks allowed awesome views of Coral Bay and mountains. The drive up was a bit of a challenge because of the switchbacks but we are used to St.John drives after 10 plus years visiting there.
We met the very nice owner since he was in his private house nearby. Our villa was completely
private. Everything you need for a day at the beach was provided. Sean on island manager very responsive for our need with assistance with tv remote.

Excellent property and wonderful property management. No complaints.

The property manager was great at communicating. When we got off the ferry, grabbed the jeep and hit the grocery store, we let them know we were heading that way, they met us at the welcome to Coral Bag sign and we followed them to the house. They gave us the rundown. When the wifi stopped working one day, we sent a text and they were on it- it wasn’t in their control.
The house views are to die for! Definitely need bug spray outside, but that is everywhere. The house had everything we needed. We did learn it is best to have one person shower at a time and don’t run other water, but that is the life of cisterns for water and everywhere on the island. We cooked most nights. We loved being remote. Don’t expect nice restaurants close, but Skinny Legs at the bottom of the hill had great burgers. We loved being close to little lamshur bay for snorkeling and went twice! Definitely need a 4wd for the island.
Being close to dockside dingny was nice for going to Ine Out to eat. Everything we needed was close but other than grabbing more snacks, drinks and things to cook, we were set.
Highly recommend!!

Great spot to hit all the best beaches and to enjoy the more quiet side of the island. Plenty of restaurant choices. Loved the Surf Club cantina.

great place to stay amazing views of the bay
Was lost for over two hours trying to find the place and without address cell phone could not direct us there.

Overall house was nice. The main floor bedroom smelled like marijuana washed the sheets and large stain on mattress.
Dryer did not adequately dry clothes well.

We loved staying at Anchorage Aweigh! The drive to Coral Bay from Cruz Bay seems long at first, but we quickly got used to it. The road/driveway to the house involves some steep ridgebacks, but it ended up being worth it for the view. We were escorted up the hill when we arrived, which helped. We loved seeing the goats on the road near the house and woke up to them outside our window on a couple of occasions. The pool was really clean and very nice! The house is incredibly spacious and the bedrooms were cooled nicely (which gave a reprieve from the summer heat). We would stay at this villa again.

Stayed at property May 10th thru May 18th. Beautiful home with everything you need for a great vacation. Kitchen was fully stocked with all appliances and utensils, pots/pans you would need. The view cant be beat overlooking Coral Bay. Open the sliding doors in the living room and let the breeze in. Bedrooms had ice cold air conditioning. Close to 3 different grocery stores and a number of restaurants within a 5 minute drive. Pool was fantastic. We especially appreciated the beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers as we used them all week visiting the many beaches of St John. We were in constant contact with property manager on our drive to Coral Bay from Cruz Bay. Sean met us and guided us to the house. The drive up is very steep and twisting but the jeep we had, had no issues. After a few trips up and down you were good. Highly recommend this property. Would stay there again. 5 stars!!!

Anchorage Aweigh was the perfect home base for our week on St. John. Perfect for two couples as each level provided our own privacy. The wrap around porch offered the most beautiful views of Coral Bay to enjoy morning coffee and dinners. The pool was refreshing after a day in the sun and salt. We loved the “extra guests” around the property consisting of goats, iguanas, and birds. We loved everything about this quiet oasis. Pure paradise!

Beautiful views, nice breezes, covered porch and pool area with shade and sun. Can’t beat it. Comfortable beds and well stocked. Owners home shares overall property but there are many private spaces. Owners were not there during our stay so there was total privacy. We have been going to St. John for several years and this was definitely among best villas we stayed in! We plan to return again next year.

We really enjoyed Coral Bay.. The home was well equipped with everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. The outdoor shower and pool were lovely. The view was terrific and we loved having our morning coffee on the porch. Communication with the property manager had a rocky start a few days prior to our visit but then was fine. We were informed the dryer was broken when we arrived and they we’re figuring out weather it could be fixed or needed to be replaced. We were told we could hang things outside to dry . When I went to check out the washer it was in two inches of standing water which didn’t seem safe. I reported this to the property manager and she said that someone had had most likely left the door open and that rain got in. . We didn’t end up needing to do laundry though it would have been nice to be able to launder towels or have extra ones provided over the 9 days we stayed. We appreciated the beach chairs, coolers, and umbrellas. The drive to the home up Seagrapes Hill is not for the faint hearted as there are multiple switchbacks and the driveway to the home is very steep. My husband did a great job navigating the terrain and St. John’s roads but it’s something to be aware of. I think the biggest thing that was problematic for us was the mosquitoes that got into the home no matter how careful we were with the doors. They bit us constantly. I wore pants and long sleeves in the home to protect myself . We sprayed ourselves which didn’t help that much. We purchased a citronella candle at Cinnamon Bay about the 5th day in and that helped more than the bug spray though we had to extinguish it at bed time and hide under the covers. I am told the mosquitoes are normal for the island but I didn’t expect it to be such an issue in the home. . We would stay again because other than the bugs and drive (which we got used to) it was a great house.

We've stayed at several places in Coral Bay and this was definitely one of the best. It has a million dollar view and spacious deck plus tons of amenities. We liked how the main bedroom and main living areas were all on the same floor. The bed was comfy and the AC worked great. Kara was very responsive - especially when I power briefly went out (which is not unusual on STJ). The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you'd need and the washer and dryer worked well. The pool was the perfect place to relax after a day snorkling/at the beach. The road up to the unit was fine to manage - even though there are a few switchbacks (which is typical in STJ) the road was entirely paved and well maintained. We'd stay here again.

We visit St. Thomas/St. John 1-2x per year and Anchorage Aweigh has been the best accommodations by far. The views are breathtaking, the beds are extremely comfortable and the home has every amenity you could possibly need. We love the outdoor showers! The property management is top notch as well. Great communication and right on top of any and every need or want. The water pump died while we were there and they immediately sent someone out to fix it. They definitely do not operate on "Island Time". I will stress one thing about staying here...You must rent a vehicle when staying at this property. We can't wait to go back and stay here again!

We loved the house. Getting there was difficult because of the switchbacks and the steep driveway. The washer and dryer were not great. Loved the view of the bay. The pool was enjoyable.

We absolutely loved our stay at Anchorage Aweigh! The view of Coral Bay out every window, the sound of goats, donkeys in the distance, the lizards (especially our pool iguana buddy) are all part of the charm. The outdoor showers were amazing and the view from the pool was something out of a dream! The property managers led us right to our rental after we arrived in Coral Bay which was much appreciated because it was raining and the road up to the villa has a lot of switch backs (though we didn’t mind and got used to it) it was nice to have someone direct us the first time. We would stay again in a heartbeat. I can’t wait to return!

This property was in a fantastic location with easy access to coral bay and beaches. The layout is beautiful and upper and lower porch areas really add to the living space. The pool is perfect and was a bonus feature we don’t usually enjoy at rentals. We will definitely stay here again if and when we get to come back. Thank you!

We had a Lovely visit at Anchorage Aweigh. The views were beautiful. Having coffee outside on the patio in the morning was perfect. The pool was perfect. The beds were comfortable. We even had a visit from some baby goats! We will definitely come back!

Ancorage Away has been the best place we have stayed while visiting STJ. The pool was fabulous to have in August, we would come home after a morning of snorkeling and exploring to cool off and relax. Slept so well, the beds were very comfortable and air conditioning kept us cool.

Do not look any further. This place is perfect! From the beautiful views, cozy beds, outdoor showers, well stocked kitchen, beach chairs and umbrellas, coolers and the refreshing pool, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. Situated just above Coral Bay, we love this quieter side of the island. Great restaurants close by and easy access to all the beaches. We cannot wait to return again and will definitely be staying at Anchorage Aweigh! Thank you for sharing your wonderful place with us and thank you to Kara for her availability and helpful tips during our stay.

Beautiful view from modern hilltop home
It was quite an adventure staying at this this bright, well-equipped home. Plenty of places to gather on covered porches and ample room in pool to swim. Local wildlife abounds, and we had some welcome surprises with them. Very private most of the time and the owners went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. Be sure to rent a Jeep as suggested. You'll be stranded otherwise.

Great Vacation!
Enjoyed the property. The property manager was easy to work with. The outdoor areas were great, we enjoyed the pool after a day of beach hopping. It was cool to watch all of the wildlife move around the hill in the mornings. I probably missed this when reserving, the living room/kitchen area has no air condition (Mini-Splits limited to the bedrooms). The location is very safe and secluded so we left the glass doors open with the screens closed for the duration of the trip. This helped the common area from getting too hot. We have been to St. John several times, but this was the first stay in Coral Bay. Be prepared to do a fair amount of driving if you want to hit everything on the island.

Renting this property was easy and the property was as it appeared in the pictures. Outdoor views and pool were highlights! We also loved the 2 MBR set up. Will need a keep, as the drive to get to the house is very steep. We would definitely rent again.

Great First time stay at Anchors Aweigh
Great experience all around. We have been to Coral Bay two previous times at other VRBO properties. Pool and outdoor space at Seagrape Hill was by far the best experience. The sitting area at the Pool was terrific with the beautiful Palm trees for shade in the later afternoon. The multiple levels for the two adult couples was great with plenty of room and the two outdoor showers were a treat. The two King size beds were great! Will definitely look to return!

New Englanders getaway
We loved our stay in St. John and at Anchors Aweigh. We loved waking up to the view of Coral Bay with the help of the goats, roosters and donkeys! The beaches are amazing! A Jeep is a must, the hills getting to the property are very steep. Not a lot of restaurants at this end of the island but those we visited we really good. Can't wait for our next trip!

Secluded Hideaway
We stayed here for the better part of a week with close friends. It’s a beautiful property on the hillside! (Jeep transportation is a must!) We were close to restaurants, beaches, and the local market. The only suggestion I would have is regarding locks. Some doors on the property do not have keys to them. The bottom bedroom door got us locked out and there were no keys available. Only frustration of the trip and we got it sorted out. Would recommend to anyone staying on St. John and likely stay again if we travel back!

Great place to get aweigh
Great place to stay. The manager was easy to work with. The house was very clean. Almost everything was updated. Had a great view of the harbor and had 2 king beds which can be hard to come by in the islands. This is our 3rd time on the island and have had good experience in the past but this was by far the best place we have stayed.

Anchorage Aweighs is perfect spot for a much needed vacation. With outstanding views, the cottage location is key for Coral Bay’s local eateries and shops. Just a short drive to the NPS beaches. The four of us had plenty of space and the house is well-equipped. Afternoon poolside was awesome. We have already begun the planning for our return trip!

The house is exactly as pictured - just add warm Caribbean breezes, gorgeous sunrises, and bright greetings from “locals” ringing through the quiet mornings (meaning roosters, goats, donkeys, and more!).
We loved having our morning coffee and many evening meals on the expansive porch overlooking Coral Bay. In between we spend our days on the amazing beaches or exploring the fascinating ruins across the island. Afternoons in the pool were also fun.
The home was very clean and well appointed. We appreciated the attention paid to even little details - the kitchen was not only nicely stocked, all of the items were neatly stacked and placed in the drawers and cabinets (for example: all of the cooking utensils were aligned, with all handles readily facing the chef). These details are indicative of how well the whole house is kept.
The USVI has very impressive public health rules. Although omicron had just started surging, we still decided to travel to the island. We were extremely happy to see how seriously *everyone* took safety precautions! Nice job, USVI - we were able to stay safe throughout. :)
We loved the island, which is mostly National Park. Although we usually explore a new destination on each of our trips, we plan to come back to St. John - next time spending more on and under the water - and stay in this lovely home again.
I will recommend that those driving on the island must be alert and careful. There are a lot of steep hills and cliffs, twisty roads, and minimal safety signs, railings, etc. Also, although part of the US, they drive on the left side of the road - with cars built to drive on the right… Just pay attention, take your time, and stay left.
