It was a nice little getaway for the weekend

We are four friends, Senior Gals 65+, that have known each other from childhood. The Shady Chalet was true to it’s name, located not far off the main hwy, yet it felt totally secluded. Even in the dead of winter we thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor area, especially the hot tub. The house felt very private, with a cozy, quaint vibe. We cooked most of our meals at the house and found the kitchen to be amply stocked with everything we needed. We spent our days playing games and visiting in the living room being kept warm by the electric heater. We would definitely consider renting here again.
I would recommend to the host upgrading the bath towels and fixing a couple of plug covers in the bathroom.

Property was cute and comfortable. It's right near all the in town attractions, has super comfortable beds, and the kitchen had everything I need to make Christmas dinner. The stairs inside are steep and not a lot of lighting out front, so just be careful at night. We had a great stay :)

Wonderful. My husband says I choose a place based on the hot tub and he ain't wrong! I didn't even read the reviews before I booked. I'm glad, too. I might have read about the tiny, hard to see path off the highway, the steep stairs, the bathroom downstairs when the bedrooms are upstairs, and past it up to keep looking. It's a wonderful place, truly. The beds are super comfy, the furniture inside and outside is perfect. The fire pit perfect, too. This cabin is truly nestled in the trees. Sure, there are things to gripe about but why? Read the other reviews. Yes, the dishwasher door is broke, don't let it crash on your foot! The outside Directv needed a new code or something but we didn't ask to have it fixed, we didn't care! The remote for the heat/air unit downstairs didn't work but there is a step stool to reach the control panel.
This place is full of ❤️ not just rental income. There are puzzles, games and movies. The decor feels like visiting family and I love that. Super comfy quilts on the beds. We loved this trip.

This was the perfect place for us! We loved the vibe. Everything was organized and well thought out. It was very clean and nicely decorated. All and all very comfortable. We will definitely be back. Hopefully sooner, rather than later.

My husband and I were here for a quick getaway...the cabin was perfect for just the two of us. Very close to all the restaurants and Beavers Bend State Park. The beds were very comfortable with super soft sheets (we tend to be light sleepers on vacation so this was a big plus.) The hot tub was a GREAT way to end the day after some long hikes.

Such a cute cabin in the woods with its own entry off the highway. We did get alittle lost, took the wrong road before the cabin. Enjoyed the hot tub, went hiking at Friends Trail, watched the game outside on the covered patio and visited 2 great restaurants. Love that it is dog friendly! So she had a great time too.

Beautiful cabin tucked into a quiet private paradise. Close to all attractions yet away from the bustling crowds of tourists. All of the amenities of home inside with a wilderness escape just through the door to the outside. Hot tub was very relaxing just before my nap starring through the pines at the sky while in the hammock. Can’t wait until my return.

Great little place for a trip! Be warned the stairs can be steep up to the bedroom. The outside living space was awesome to have as we spent most of our cabin time lounging in the space enjoying a movie in the evenings. I would like to also add I am unsure if it is the owner of the property’s but there is a LOVING gray tabby cat that happily joined us in this space during our stay and it was the best. She is super sweet and cuddly.

It was a lovely cottage home with loft bedrooms. It was quaint. Lovely outside sitting area with tv and a hot tub. Communing with nature. State parks nearby to enjoy activities.

The two beds are upstairs in a loft and the stairs were pretty steep for my 76yo mom (who am I kidding - they were hard on me too! Ha!)…and one bathroom for the four of us ladies was challenging at best so our next stay will have a single floor and at least two baths! :) All the chores required of us before leaving made us giggle - it was Mothers Day after all! (strip the beds/ take out trash/remove everything we brought in - which was A LOT because the kitchen is not stocked). Maybe this is normal for all Vrbo rentals, I don’t know…but again we just giggled about it. This would be perfect for a young couple maybe... Very dark and cozy.

The property is tucked away from the main road and the location of the property to hiking, restaurants and bars is perfect. The hot tub is definitely an added bonus. Will definitely look for this property next time we visit!

Love the property! The outdoors area was outstanding as was the indoor area. I would recommend this place to anyone.
The only thing that could be fixed is a bigger sign pointing to the entrance or at least a light in front of the sign. It is hard to see at night time.

We had such a great, relaxing weekend here! We were surprised at the size of the cabin, much bigger than we expected! Spent a lot of time in the outdoor living area, loved the hot tub, and were able to cook a few meals in the fully stocked kitchen. The appliances are super nice. Communication with the host was top notch. Highly recommend the shady chalet if you are in the area!

This was a cute little place that was perfect for my husband and I! It was very quiet and relaxing, yet super close to town so it was very easy to go shopping! The best part was sitting in the hot tub all day watching the outdoor TV! 😌 I would definitely recommend this place! Very affordable also!

Beautiful place inside and out. Took my Nephew and his Fiance as a wedding gift. Was a little apprehensive about shared sleeping area but is well thought out and divided by partitions at the top of the stairs. Will definitely be back!

This property looks nicer and more modern than the pics posted. Ray was very helpful and so friendly. He provided us info quickly and even offered some perks that I didn’t expect from a host! He is kind and so generous with the services he offered to make us feel welcome and enjoy our weekend. It was my husband’s birthday weekend. The place is perfect! Clean, beds are cozy, AC worked fine, close to everything, area is secluded and quiet. Just a few pointers also… we figured out to work the front door lock after we spoke to Ray, bathroom knob has a trick to just pull upwards to lock, to open the dishwasher hold it all the way it can be heavy and quickly drop.
We did try the restaurant of Ray’s brother and it was a good bite. We didn’t have time to do the tiki boat ride but maybe next time!
We will definitely go back to this nice and affordable place.

Hubby and I wanted a relaxing getaway for our Anniversary..away from hustle and bustle of kids and schedules... Shady Chalet was the perfect spot! Clean and Cozy Cabin. The outdoor sitting area is my favorite...watching t.v. or soaking in the hot tub...or just sitting quietly listening to forest nature. This place (inside and outside) is the real deal for comfort and simplicity. Our Host, Ray is more than accommodating! Thank you so much for everything Ray! Overall we had the Best Time and will definitely have Shady Chalet as our go to spot at Hochatown!

The bathroom door wouldn’t lock, neither would the front door. The dishwasher was a nightmare to use. The owners were living right behind the cabin. No privacy at all. No instructions for the air conditioners and the outside TV.
Paid a cleaning fee but we had to do laundry and wash and put away all dishes.

Overall a very cute place but not as secluded as we would have liked. Check in was easy. Hot tub was nice.
House is 10 feet from another occupied home. Almost more of a shared space. Driveway was so overgrown we couldn’t see the sign to turn into the property and made it difficult to turn out of the road when leaving. Hard to see on coming traffic due to trees. Parking limited. Glad we we did not bring our boat or side by side. There would not have been room to turn around.

Cute little Chalet. Outside is a very cute area but Before someone arrives, the outside area should definitely be cleaned. It looked as it had not been cleaned in a long time. It was also hard for older people because there is no bathroom upstairs. Other than that, we had a very good time.
