Charmante maison située dans souhaitable Sheridan plage et à seulement 50 miles de Chicago. La maison dispose de 3 chambres confortables (1 lit king, 1 lit queen, 2 lits jumeaux). La véranda en offre 2 lits jumeaux daybeds - idéal pour traîner. L'espace cuisine / salle à manger et salon ouvert sont brillamment éclairé avec puits de lumière et beaucoup de fenêtres donnant sur le jardin et belle jardin paysager. La grande cour dispose d'une terrasse couverte surdimensionné avec une grande table à manger et un coin salon, en plus d'une grande pelouse pour jouer et détente à l'extérieur. Les draps et les serviettes de bain sont fournis, ainsi que des chaises de plage (s'il vous plaît apporter vos propres serviettes de plage). Notre maison de plage se trouve à seulement quelques pas de la dune de sable et la plage prinstine sur le lac Michigan. Quel pourrait être plus parfait que l'emballage d'un panier pour la journée et de le dépenser sur la plage. La très courte promenade le long du sentier bordé dans l'herbe des dunes soufflant lentement dans la brise vous mène à la vue à couper le souffle de ce qui semble être la ligne de rivage sans fin. Cette plage a été comparé à la National Seashore de Cape Cod.

The property was fantastic. The rental was clean, with all amenities as described.
I am a native to the area now living in Oklahoma and was looking to stay at a convenient location close to my family that is still in Michigan City. Location was a quick walk to the beach, as well as close to everything else the area has to offer.
Trish was fantastic and we look forward to doing this again next year!

My girlfriends and I wanted a relaxing weekend to get away and hang out. The location was perfect. We went to the beach every morning, during the day, and again for sunset.
Amenities: the kitchen is well stocked with cutting boards, pots, pans, knives, spices, plates, bowls, silverware, towels, sponges and soap. Kudos to Trish for making her place ready for eating in house.
The couch and outdoor eating area were our favorites, and even though we brought board games, this home had some of our favorites like Telestrations and Blank Slate!
My only complaint was that this place only had 1.5 bathrooms even though it's advertised as 2 full bathrooms, so with 7 girls, it was a little tricky to shower. And make sure to bring your own body wash!
All in all, it was a perfect place to hang out, and this weekend will go down as one of my favorites trips ever!

I stayed here with a group of six friends looking for a low-key women’s weekend by a beach. Wow, we feel so fortunate to have found this place! The house is well furnished without being cluttered, the design is welcoming and intentional, and the proximity to the water is a luxury. Sometimes it’s difficult to cook in short-term rentals because of the lack of kitchen tools, but this kitchen had everything we needed for a few good meals in—plus a great meal at Fish Camp a mile away. The outdoor space was the perfect place to start our days with coffee. Oh, and the shower! Love the skylight and tall ceiling! No complaints at all. We’ll be back.

Great location with easy access to a great, clean beach. The house is perfect for a small family and has just about everything you need. Comfy beds, great shower, nice patio in back. There is a nice screened in porch at the street-side that is a great, relaxing spot, particularly at night when all you hear are the waves. The kitchen is pretty well stocked but a lot of the pans need replaced as they stick pretty bad. The washer/dryer is in the lower level/basement area along with a third bathroom. This is convenient when coming straight from the beach. The owner should invest in a lock for this lower level door as anyone could walk in. Wi-Fi was spotty (possibly from summer surge in web traffic?). No critique on owner communication during stay as we had no real issues to address (which says a lot in and of itself).
Overall an excellent place to stay for a single family or a few couples in Michigan City!

Friendly get away
This is the second year my kids and I have stayed here. It was the first time we brought my best friend and her kids. We were very yet again! The house is perfectly located right next to the beach. The street is quiet and easy to find. This house has a great back covered patio and small yard for the kids to play in. I will recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice get away with a great location!

Perfect getaway
We do a girls weekend every year and this was the perfect spot. Close to the beach, clean and need and a nice kitchen for our needs. The outdoor space was wonderful as well. Would stay again

Cozy house
Great location. Easy check in. Short walk to beach. Used the outdoor table every day but couldn’t sit out at nite do to mosquitoes. Bedrooms nice size very close together so can be noisy for sleeping if you go to bed early. Neighborhood quiet. Backyard nice for kids and cooking on the grill. Floors could use a deep clean. Everything else very clean. Bring your own coffee and condiments. Everything else was there for cooking. Dishes utensils paper products. Beautiful sunsets. Great weather. Loved the sky lights. Always bright and cheerful in the house. Would definitely stay again. Went to the zoo and outlet mall. Thanks for a great stay!

It made for an easy walk. The slight incline up the path and over to the beach was not bad at all. We watched ducks swimming back and forth in the lake, plenty of boats to watch too. The size of the house was perfect for me and my family. We loved the backyard space for eating meals and relaxing, my kids especially enjoyed the yard space. The short walk to the beach was beautiful and perfect for if we forgot something. There seemed to be quite a bit of updates to the house which were great and helped us feel more comfortable relaxing. Perfect get away!
This was the first vacation just use four went on. We loved how close it was to the beach! Also just a quick drive to the zoo, lighthouse and the outlet mall! The backyard was perfect for sitting outside and the kiddos could play. Very quiet neighborhood. The house has all the little extra stuff we needed. We will be returning in the future and would recommend this to all our friends!

Perfect beach cottage!
Our family stayed here at the end of August 2020. The house was clean, fully stocked kitchen and most of all the beds were comfy. Location is excellent, the private beach is across the street. The backyard was beautiful with a long dining table where we sat for most meals. The grill and portable firepit was utilized daily. This is the 2nd time I have stayed here and we will be back again!!

Amazing location, perfect size house
We had an amazing time in Michigan City. The house is very close to the beach. BEAUTIFUL patio and the kitchen had plenty of gadgets. The house was the perfect size for our family (me, hubs, 4 yo, 2 yo) + our in-laws. There was plenty to do while staying socially distanced (beach, hiking, blueberry picking, botanic garden). Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful getaway
Very clean and well kept house! The house was even more updated than pictures showed! Just steps to the beach which made it easy to quickly come back to the house for anything we needed. Beautiful outdoor space, which is where we spent most of our time when not at the beach. We would definitely come back again!

Great location, spic and span , with plenty of silverware, plates etc. We had two houses and joining back yards that readily accommodated several cousins from age 2 to 18. Fun was had by all.

It was very clean and the sky lights brought in so much light.
The bed was very comfortable.

Lovely Lake House, Steps from the Sand!
Great lake house just across the street from the shore. Location was great. Nice accommodations, comfy beds and couch, and great outdoor space with a generous outdoor eating area and yard to hang in. Having two bathrooms on the main floor was a plus, but note only one has a shower. The only other thing to note is that the three bedrooms are all right next to each other, so just something to consider if you're going with a group. Beach across the street is great—nice and clean. Would definitely stay here again!

Magnificent!!!
Our women's group settled into Sandcastle for a magnificent weekend of long walks on the beach, cozy dinners at home, and dancing around the fire pit at night. It was everything and then some for all of us. The cottage is situated right across from beautiful Lake Michigan and filled with everything you would need to enjoy a cozy fall weekend with friends and/or family. Thank you, Sandcastle, for making this a weekend we will never forget!

Two weeks of relaxation
We have stayed in the Sheridan Beach area for many years and this our first time renting at this location. We were very happy with the home and all it has to offer. A bathroom with walk in shower and a powder room on the main level and a bathroom with walk in shower in the basement. There is also a second refrigerator in the basement which is a great feature. The wifi kept us all connected to the real world when we needed it and the short walk to the beach took us miles away from it. We spent our nights out back under the covered patio enjoying the outdoors. The owners were very easy to deal with and quick to respond to any question or issue. Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

Annual Vacation
We love this house and look forward to this trip each and every year.
It is so close to the beach literally across the (not-so-busy) street , has plenty of room, and allows us to spend time together in the yard even if it is raining. The owners are always great in replying should anything come up or should you have any questions. The marina is close too so other family members were able to bring wave runners and boats and still be a part of the trip. We can't wait to go back next year.

Comfy and close to the beach
We stayed for a weekend and had a great time. The living room was very comfy, and the back porch with the big table meant eating outside comfortably, or playing games in the evening no matter the weather. Of course the big draw was the beach, which is very close. Just out the door, turn, and climb the dune. The house was clean and cozy and a great place to sleep and chill after spending the day at the beach.

Heavenly Getaway
I rented the house for a getaway weekend with my two grown daughters and best friend. What a lovely place this is and one I will return to when the opportunity presents itself. Immaculately clean, exquisitely landscaped, private and gorgeously decorated. The pictures tell the story of a place where you can get away and relax. Spacious kitchen where we did breakfast and dinner. Love the seating areas both inside and out. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay a memorable one. Hidden Gem!
We have been vacationing at Sandcastle Cottage on Sheridan Beach for many years. It is by far one of our favorite getaways! A short driving distance from Chicago, yet it feels miles away! A walk over the dunes to the beach provides relaxation and fun all day. After watching the amazing sunsets we love to end our day with a barbecue on the beautiful patio. Sandcastle is charming, yet very spacious. The beds are extremely comfortable and our kids love to sleep on the front screened porch. Sandcastle is an ideal vacation spot for families with children, couples, or a girlfriends getaway. We look forward to returning every year!!!

The PERFECT getaway!!
I have rented Sandcastle many many times over the years, during the summer and even the winter and it has always exceeded our expectations! A fabulous place to stay! Right over the dune from the beautiful beach, walking distance from the adorable zoo and very close to great restaurants and boutiques. Great for families or a week with the girls!! Love this cottage on the best Lake Michigan Dune!
Some of my very favorite memories happened at Sandcastle. We have enjoyed the home for years, the great open floor plan is perfect for whatever is on your agenda. The beds are the best! (Tip - snag a daybed on the screened-in porch and lose yourself in your favorite book!) There is absolutely nothing like wrapping up a gorgeous beach day with a yummy BBQ dinner under the twinkling lights of the fabulous Sandcastle deck! You are guaranteed lots of good times around the HUGE farmhouse table - a favorite of our friends and family alike. Can't wait to go back!

Couples Getaway
Every year we look forward to renting The Sandcastle. An easy ride from the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, this is an ideal and convenient getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city. The house itself is very clean and has plenty of room with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms along with a large kitchen, dining room and living room area. The backyard and deck are spacious and you can cook and grill out if you want. The surrounding area has many restaurants and points of interests nearby. We enjoyed Washington Park Zoo, the Marina and the Lighthouse. The park also has many concerts throughout the summer as well. It is only steps away to the beach that is very clean. From the beach, if you look to the west at sunset you can see downtown Chicago. So many activities to enjoy such as the brewery and wine tasting locations and the Blue Chip Casino. In the fall there are several festivals. We really love the place and every time we go we find new things to do!
