This is the 2nd time staying with Mat. He is a wonderful host. Always accommodating and ready with local advice. The house is in the perfect location. Easy access to 295 and Portland is a short Uber ride away. If you’re looking for a good place for a working vacation, this is it. Two spaces to work with great Wi-Fi. And you can’t beat looking out the front window at the bay sipping coffee every morning. I highly recommend.

This is a fantastic place for those who want to be close to downtown, the beaches & trails or Thompson's Point, as well as those who love to bring their pooches on vacation! The space is clean, well laid out and has ample parking. If you are new to the area, Mat has you covered! He provides guests with a busy board highlighting activities, food recommendations and other conveniences. Mat has thought of everything with regard to amenities to make guests feel welcome, and that includes thoughtful canine comforts. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely book here again if we return to Portland.

The house/apartment was great and has everything we needed for our four day/three night stay. . The owner Matt was a great help with itinerary suggestions and responded to us immediately when we had questions. Great stay overall, would definitely stay there again!

True to description, the property was simple but clean and comfortable. Beds are just fine. And, although the traffic can get heavy in front of the property, the cottage is surprisingly quiet. Nice view of the water. And, convenient to everything—including the airport, which we had to get to very early in the a.m. Host was super-responsive. Would stay here again.

We had the pleasure of staying in this great house for 8 nights over the 4th of July holiday. There are so many great things I can say about this place.
Location: Incredible. The bay views are stunning and the porch area couldn’t be a better a place to watch sunsets. There are quite a few chairs and a fire pit (only had to use once). If you are lucky enough to be there for the 4th of July, you are in for a treat! You’ll have the best view from your porch! The house is extremely convenient to downtown and takes less than 10 mins to get there. It was a great landing spot for the first leg of our trip.
The space: the house was a perfect space for my family of 4 to enjoy our work/play trip. There was even a little office space. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you’d need to cook. I appreciated that Mat has lots of power cords/places to plug electronics in. He thought through the needs of the people staying there. One thing I didn’t see in the details was that there was an A/C unit in both bedrooms and the living room, which is important on hot evenings! If I had one complaint, I’d say the king bed was uncomfortable, it didn’t feel like there was much support.
The host: Mat was so nice and responsive. He answered every question almost immediately and was on property to say hello. He’s easy going and wants to make sure you’re enjoying your stay.
I would 100% stay here again and would tell anyone it’s a great place.

Great view of the water with an area just across the street to walk your dog. Matt was very friendly and even text me to offer his snow tube when it snowed during our visit. I would definitely recommend this property!

My husband and I rented this property with our two dogs and invited family for a birthday weekend. The view of the bay was absolutely gorgeous and made the chilly weather worth it. The property is conveniently located, so it was super easy to get anywhere we wanted to explore in Portland. Mat was very responsive during the check in process which made things run smoothly. We would definitely come back here for our next trip!

We travelled to Portland to visit our son. The unit was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. The view out the bay window was beautiful!

I came with my dog to do some hiking and exploring and connect with a few friends. The location was central and very easy. The view is gorgeous, especially for sunrise. It is a busy road but there was a white noise machine in the bedroom that really helped.
The toilet clogged a couple of times (it happens 🤷🏻♀️) but Mat was available quickly to help and even replaced the plunger that didn’t really do the trick.
The floor/ceiling is a little thin, so if you are bringing a dog, be aware of the various noises and loads of walkers/joggers if that’s not something they get at home. It didn’t bother me, except that my dog alerted to every single thing which probably drove them as crazy as it did me. We’ll work on that with the dog.
Overall a very comfortable stay. I’d definitely recommend it.

This location was perfect! Easily accessible to downtown Portland as well as many hiking trails. There is construction going on right outside the property but we didn’t let it ruin our stay - we weren’t really there during the day which helped. Easily accommodated my husband, mom, and brother.

It is clear how much love and attention Matt has given this property. Great location for a 5 mile loop walk around a beautiful little island and just a short drive to downtown. Porch looks out over the ocean. Portland is such a great place!

This is a lovely rental property with convenient access to downtown Portland. The only down side was the road construction right in front of the house, but the owner warned us in advance. It made sitting on the little patio and looking at the bay impossible due to dust and noise, but otherwise it was a great stay and the road construction will end eventually.

Mat the property owner was very easy to reach and speak with. The house and all it's amenities were wonderful. To get to anything downtown it was 5-8 minutes, so the location could not have been better. It was just enough space for our small group and it was a great Portland getaway. OH and huge perk the shower pressure was outstanding!!!

The flat is attractively decorated, very clean and comfortable, and well furnished and equipped. Its location has big pluses and one big minus. It's very convenient to downtown and major roads, and the neighborhood behind it is charming and walkable. But it fronts on a busy four-lane highway that sits between the house and the view of Casco Bay. And there's no fence or other barrier, so keep a tight hold on pets and small children when entering and leaving.

Our girls getaway spent at Casco Bay Sunrise was very nice. It truly is an “oasis” among a lot of construction right now, but once you’re inside it’s comfy and feels like home. Mat, the owner, is on site and extremely nice and responsive to communication. It’s an old house (early 1900’s) remodeled and sits directly at the end of the ramp (Exit #9) off I-295 (on the opposite side from the water; a little challenge to navigate, but once figured out, it’s fine). The extensive construction going on is obviously not something Mat can control, but it does hinder the view currently (October 2021). Otherwise, the location is magnificent and very easy to get to downtown Portland, the Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse, or I-295 south to Ogunquit, Kennebunkport, and north to Freeport, Boothbay, and beyond. VERY close and convenient to the Portland Airport (without airport noise)!!
The front steps are a bit of a challenge with a 40lb suitcase, but definitely doable; just be aware that it could be a difficult for someone with any significant hip, knee, or back issues.
Excellent WiFi, great smart TV, very comfortable couches in living room, and kitchen well stocked with utensils, mugs, glasses and dinnerware.

This is a nice quiet spot on the outskirts of Portland with a great view! Yes, as other reviewers noted there was construction going on but Mat kept us fully updated. It is spotlessly clean, floor to ceiling. Amenities are great, including a complete kitchen if you choose to cook - happily, we did not. We highly recommend and would ourselves like to stay again.

This was the perfect spot for us! It was clean, easy to find, & the location is close to the city - that coupled with the bay view & gas fire, it was easy to relax and fall right into vaca mode. The owner was super accommodating & provided great ideas for where to go. We will be back to ME again & to this VRBO!! Thx Matt!

We had a great stay! The property was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. It was far enough away to not be right in the middle of the city traffic and noise, but so close to hop on the thruway and get to a lot of the tourist spots in a couple minutes. Highly recommend a stay here and we already can't wait to come back!
