Well appointed home spreads out and gives privacy to individuals when needed but also larger rooms to gather. The kitchen is a wonderful place to prepare a meal - and even to clean up after since you aren't shut off from others - or from the view. If you live in the city, be prepared for real darkness after the lights go out. Even though you're mere minutes out of town, it seems much further...more wildlife, more distant lights in the valley below and more stars in the sky. Can't wait to come back!

A wonderful and comfortable home with plenty of room indoors and out. The on-site owners (who live in a separate dwelling from the rental) were attentive to any needs/questions we had and respected our privacy the entire week. It was an all around wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay. Lovely home, quiet and relaxing.

I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful view, and a more spacious, comfortable home away from home. My adult daughter loved the privacy she had in the guest bedroom suite, and there was plenty of room to entertain my girl friend's daughter, son-in-law, and 2 year old grandson in the living room and dining room, and to cook a sumptuous dinner for them in the well-equipped kitchen. The hot tub was heavenly, especially after a long hike on the miles of trails (with even more spectacular vuews) just up the road. William was also very responsive in all our communications prior to arrival, and graciously accomodated my request for an early check-in. All-in-all, we couldn't have been happier with our rental and hated to leave!

Excellent location and gorgeous view of the valley. The house exceeded my expectations and was perfect for our needs. Nice and spacious. In addition to the three bedrooms, there is a pull out queen sofa as well as a twin available. The best in Ashland without question. Highly recommend.

This is a spacious, clean, and comfortable house. Bill, the owner, was very nice and accommodating. The views were amazing. We recommend this house for a stay in Ashland.

Clean, quiet, well appointed, nice location. Very spacious and lovely home....perfect for a relaxing get away. Beds were comfy but couch and recliner we’re not. Very minor problem when considering all the things that were wonderful! We’ll be back for sure!

We were visiting from New Zealand for just over a month. Both Bill and his Property Manager, Deb, were very easy to deal with and they were freely available anytime we had queries while staying on the property. The home was perfect for our stay. There was plenty of room, the kitchen and pantry was very well equipped as we were regularly making our own meals. There was also some basic supplies in the pantry for us to use if we wanted. There was also plenty of extra seating and a table extension for when we had guests over for dinner. The location was awesome and we had a fantastic view of the valley. The rooms are a good size, the beds comfortable and heating within the home was easy to use and heated the whole of the home. The bathroom could do with an upgrade but was fine and it worked well for us. There is also plenty of storage in the bedrooms as we unpacked our luggage into drawers and wardrobe for our long stay. We had access to the hot tub which we used occassionally and it was bliss. The only thing was that there was some very high winds in Ashland on two occassions and a large tree branch snapped onto the front lawn, so ideally we would recommend removing the old rotton trees close to the house. The house is perfect for small to large groups and has enough beds (and extra bedding) if you have a few other people staying over. Deb also kindly showed us the extra room that is available to rent at the front of the house which has a superb bathroom and a further 2 larger beds. Bill also kindly provided us with local restaurant recommendations which was very helpful. It was a very peaceful place to stay, and we only really saw some people walking up the road to the tracks behind the home, other than that it is a very quiet spot. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back again. Thanks Bill and Deb!! If you are in New Zealand anytime, come and see us.

What a phenomenal home and Bill was kind and helpful. The only negative was the master bath and shower needs to be snaked...doesn’t drain. Everything else was ideal: fully furnished kitchen, lots of room, and very private.

Our group was in Ashland for a ladies weekend. This property was perfect for our group. The location was great for us, it backs up to a nature park with lots of trails for runs and hikes. The home has lovely views of the valley. It is a quick drive (or a long walk) to downtown and the theater. The house has all we needed plus some bonuses like fluffy towels, comfy beds, toiletries and pantry staples. We cooked all our meals and found the kitchen also well stocked with good knives and plenty of cookware/serving items. The hot tub was icing on the cake. I would love stay here again!

While I did not get to meet Bill the owner (I was in and out hitting the mtn bike trails), my travel companions met him. They said Bill is a delightful host and welcomed the first person to arrive with open arms. Bill's 'chateau' is awesome. It's spacious, well kept, clean, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hot tub in the back is close to the grill, which makes for a great afternoon/evening soak and dinner. The front area has a nice table and umbrella, with fantastic views. I sat out here each morning drinking coffee and taking in all that the Ashland hills have to offer. The next time I go back to Ashland I will definitely see if the chateau is available.

My family and I stayed at this property in Ashland for a family wedding. It was such a wonderful place to stay. There is an extra suite that we also rented so we had the whole family stay together. The main living area is wonderful and we were able to have many great family meals together. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of smoke from fires, but at the end of our stay it cleared up a bit and we were able to enjoy the outdoor space which is beautiful. Great view. Bill, the owner was super nice, responsive and accommodating. He was very flexible with arrival and departure which was so appreciated. This was such a perfect place for our family gathering.

We loved staying here - for a family event. There was plenty of space. Arrangements for arrival were easy, and the host kindly supplied some nice refreshments! The location is wonderful with superb views and access to green space. Overall - great find!
