This is a clean, quiet rental within walking distance of the beach and the main section of town—what could be better? This was at least our third time staying here, and we were delighted once again.

Charming 1947 cottage. Very comfortable, very homey. I had a wonderful time and plan on booking this VRBO again. I only have 2 very small suggestions - please provide full length mirrors on the back of bedroom doors for your female guests and an ironing board. We found the iron, but no board (we might have missed it). Thank you so much!

The house was pretty much as described online and the check-in and mgr. communication was good. When the toilet and shower overflowed, it was promptly addressed. But nobody mentioned that there would construction work in the front and side of the house starting at 7:00 AM EVERY WEEKDAY. They were tearing up the street. This included 15 talking men, multiple tractors and backhoes scraping the asphalt, and 1-2 jackhammers all starting at 7AM. Being on vacation, sleeping past 7AM is kind of a given. I understand that it was the city was doing the construction (they used the front yard to store the tools and equipment), but we could have been told ahead of time seeing as the area was roped off from the previous week’s work. When I approached the property manager about a possible discount (getting 25% of my money back), I was very professionally and politely told to pound sand.

Walking distance to the beach and town—and quiet! This was our second stay, and we had a terrific time. The cottage is clean and well-stocked, and the manager was very responsive.

Would definitely stay here again. Cleanliness had some room for improvement. Cobwebs in corners, floors not thoroughly swept (main pathways were fine). LOVED the location so close to the beach. The back yard was a sweet, secluded area to sit and enjoy the cool mornings. Master bedroom bed was very, very comfortable! It would have been nice to have a few more amenities available; enough coffee filters, trash bags, toilet paper and laundry soap for the number of people and length of our stay. Those were a minor inconvenience and we truly loved the place! We will stay again!

We LOVED this place. Not fancy but that is our preference. Everything we needed and spacious yard to BBQ and hang out. Can't wait to come back.

Almost all rentals in Carpinteria are condos. We much prefer houses, specially in this COVID-19 era. This cottage has lots of charm. We spent a very happy week there in September, enjoying the beautiful beach, the wonderful food (Zookers and Little Dom’s) and the quiet house. We will come back!

With little effort they could really enhance this place. Furniture is old but comfortable. Kitchen dishes and pans are average. There are no sharp kitchen knives. There is no air conditioning. I found a fan in the closet that really helped. The yard is a good size, but no landscaping. Has a nice patio, with little furniture. Bbq with no charcoal or lighter. Shelves and floors were dusty. Dryer stopped working on the last day. The filter looked like it had never been cleaned. No coffee, tea, or salt. Soap but no shampoo. The street itself is loud during the day, but fortunately quiet at night. Pet hair on carpet although no pets allowed. Solid place for the price. Lots of potential to be awesome.......

Nice yard, well equipped house and proximity to the beach and walking distance to town make this a pretty sweet place.

The cottage was quiet, quant, and centrally located. Overall, I’d rate it highly but the only lower grade was given to a few items that had been listed as being provided were not; however the property manager brought them over within 30 minutes.

It is great for small family. Nice yard and close to beach.

Our family had a wonderful time staying here! The cottage was airy, cool, and well-furnished. The beach is easily within walking distance, and the neighborhood is quiet--this was a comfortable place to relax. We hope to come back in the future!

We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the beautiful mountain view from the spacious backyard and patio. Casual walk to the beach and protected marshlands. Homey, quaint, and reasonably priced. We will be back. Thank you Kyle.

This is our second year staying at the cottage, with our party being myself, my now 3 year old son and his grandmother. The neighborhood continues to be charming and quiet, and Kyle is very responsive to any questions that pop up. The master bedroom mattress has recently been updated and is nice and firm, and the backyard grass situation is much improved. Otherwise the rest of the property has maintained nicely and was a great home base for the trip. Definitely recommend.

This place suited us just fine. A little weathered (like us), clean, comfortable and great location. Big fenced backyard great for dog. Nice short walk down to beach, which allows dogs on leash to the right for a good stretch, but not left onto state beach. Great restored salt marsh walking trails right across the street (dogs not allowed). We love Carpinteria; the town retains its character in spite of mini-mansions sprouting up. Wonderful Farmer's Market on Thursday afternoons. Short trip into Santa Barbara, but frankly, everything you need is right here. Hope this unit stays dog-friendly. Beth & TC from San Diego

Had to book this house last minute when my original plans fell thru. I accidentally came across this home and town. I was so glad i did. The home was close to everything. Loved the area. Quiet neighborhood. Nice older home. Had a fenced backyard. The rooms were spacious. The beach was a few minutes away. My family and I stayed for a week. We felt right at home. The homeowner was quick to respond to my questions . Will definitely try to rebook in the future.

Pictures are not all up to date. House, kitchen items, furnishings are old...very very old. I mean I wouldnt cook with the kitchen utensils in that kitchen after taking one look at them, just nasty. The patio and furniture was the worst, covered in bird drippings for years and filthy old. Not possible to sit out there, it was all mis matched junk. No grass, just a yard full of dead dry weeds, my pets wouldn't even walk on it to piddle, so dry it hurt their paws. Front yard was exactly the same. Master bed was sad, we both sunk to the middle. The rug in the master (and every rug in the house) was old and filthy. No power outlets in the bathroom, I had to find an extension cord to have power in the bedroom for a hairdryer. I rent on Homeaway and other sites frequently. I will not ever go back to this house or recommend to anyone. If you dont care about anything other than a room to poorly sleep in this is your place, but it's far from a cottage to relax and enjoy a family get away in. The only thing this place had going for it was the location and the excellent property manager. Owners need to drop about 10k into this property and update everything inside it. It would benefit the rental rate and renters return rate.

We stayed for two weeks at this adorable cottage. We had plenty of space for myself, my 2 year old and his grandmother. Clean, with plenty of kitchen gears, and overall such a charming layout. The neighborhood is perfect for walking to the beach (3 min walk), being near so much of Carpinteria, and was very peaceful at night. The owner was very responsive and quick with any questions, and was very flexible with all my questions. Only item I'll call out is there is no tub (only shower), but we were able to make that work. Overall I'm soooo happy we stayed here, and would love to return when back in the area. Highly recommend as your homebase!

This is the place to be if you're staying in Carpinteria! It's in the perfect location on a quiet street with just a short walk to everything you need. We happened to be there on a weekend when the weather wasn't perfect, but the place is so well stocked, our entire family was perfectly content staying in and playing games, cooking and watching movies. It had EVERYTHING we needed for a stay-in day. And it's so cozy, we didn't want to leave anyway! The next day the sun was out and we were everywhere on foot with this cottage as our home base. The backyard was perfect for letting the kids play while the adults had cocktail hour. And the mountain views from the front door are amazing! We can't wait to come back and stay at this place again.
