Cleanliness of was great
Description of location was a bit misleading, it was an apartment/in-law suite under a house. Not horrible but could hear the owners walking around and dog barking.
Location was great to everything in Wintergreen.
Hot tub was nice and relaxing.

First off, I hate leaving anything less then a 5star review, but had I seen this review I’d choose another location so I want to be honest. The host is easy to deal with, place was clean (vacuumed, wiped down, etc) but there is a definite musky smell that wafts from the carpets I’m guessing. Sort of a basement mildew smell. It bugged my wife and kids more than me, but I noticed it also. The hot tub was not overly dirty, but could use a water change and felt like had too much chlorine in it to cover up that fact. Kind of a bummer because we really looked forward to that. The pac man machine doesn’t work (kids bummed). And the power went out a couple times and we couldn’t get to the breaker box, so we spent one night unplugged because couldn’t get through to owner. Not a overall bad experience, but not really much better then a hotel I’d say. I think I wouldn’t recommend this place, I’ve had better experiences with others.

We had a great stay- the place was clean and cozy. It was the perfect size for a family of four. Mike also made sure that the outside area was safe for us to walk around during an icestorm.

Had such a fabulous time with the family out in Wintergreen! Place was larger than expected and the accommodations were fantastic!! Hosts did a fantastic job communicating and laying everything out to the check in and out process. Would 10000% recommend.

Everything was as listed and communication with the owner was easy. The weather was great as it was 85 degrees at the bottom of the mountain and 72 degrees at the top! We will be back.

This was our first time at Wintergreen when there wasn’t snow and place really helped highlight the things to do in the area, while also being that comfy place to come back to. Mike’s apartment is very well maintained, had a hot tub and wine fridge for the adults, and a great view. I loved the cute kitchen. It was very close to Wintergreen Resort, access to hiking trails, and there were a ton of brochures and maps to give ideas for daily trips.

The best part was the jacuzzi, my kids loved it! Owner is very responsive and accommodating, even when we had to check out early due to a family emergency. It is dog friendly, our little puppy enjoyed it. The pac man machine was not working, bummer, but we were informed of this prior to arrival. The only con was we could not get the front door to lock. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.

What a sweet place. Mike couldn’t have been easier to work with, to checking in to checking out. I am a chef and the kitchen had everything we needed! It was so cozy and he is a very thoughtful owner! He had all the touches!! We can’t wait to come back! I would highly recommend this to my friends & family! Thank you for such a great experience!!

We had some bad winter weather during our stay and Mike was flexible with our request for a later checkout to allow the roads to clear. Cozy 2 bedroom place that is located in his basement. Easy access from a walkway that leads you to the side of his house to the entry door. Place was clean and accommodated our needs. Hot tub was a plus! Also it isn’t too far (5 min drive) from the main entrance to the Wintergreen resort.

Very nicely done space. Took advantage of some of the offerings of Wintergreen Resort, and other spots down the mountain. Had dinner at The Edge on the resort as the local spots were crowded. Good food and drinks, and reasonably priced. Trail access was just up the street and did two different hikes over our stay. The hot tub was awesome when it was dark out, a great view of the stars while drinking a few beverages. Rode horses and ate dinner at Devil's Backbone one day, which is about 15 minutes away. Great weekend for sure!

Mike is an excellent host with a beautiful property. The hot tub is ideal for relaxing with a beautiful view of the forest. There is plenty of space and all the amenities you could ask for, and more! From towels, toiletries, and linens, to vintage arcade and wine selections Friendly, private, and welcoming environment. I highly recommend for a couple with a small pet, or a family of 6! I am very happy with chosing to stay here.

Really nice house—quiet and near some trails but also near many conveniences. Took day trips to Grand Caverns and Charlottesville, and enjoyed lake Sheronda. Owner was extremely helpful with suggestions!

Fantastic property for a family getaway with apartment efficiencies to stay ahead of the kids and take care of the parents! The kitchen has everything you need to pack a lunch or make a meal for the family while the hot tub calls for relaxing after hours with an adult libation. Easy access to all Wintergreen activities as advertised. Thanks for the easy instructions and check-in/out process.

This property is located in a wonderful location in the Wintergreen Resort. It was within walking distance of some hiking trails and to the Mountain Inn. It was a quick drive to other hiking areas and not far from fishing, swimming and good restaurants. We enjoyed the scenery, the clean and nicely decorated apartment, the hot tub and Pacman game! Mike was very helpful with suggestions and anything we needed. One thing that would make the unit even more pleasant is a replacement of the mattress on the queen bed which sinks in the middle and becomes uncomfortable after a couple of days. Thank you for our memorable getaway!

We loved this property! It was perfect for my husband and I and out 11 month old. The hot tub was a great touch and nice to enjoy after the little one went to bed. Plenty of space for us. The kitchen was great, so that we didn’t have to buy all of our meals out. Will definitely stay again.

We came down for a wedding and the location was perfect. The drive wasn’t difficult at all as long as you have 4 wheel drive. Overall very nice place and the hot tub was nice

The one level basement apartment was thoughtfully designed with everything a small family would need. Set toward the top of the mountain, the property was perfect for hiking, biking, fishing, and taking in the bounty of Nelson County.

Apartment was nice and peaceful. Very clean, would recommend to small families. We even were able to bring our dog for a small pet fee. Hot tub was nice and relaxing.
