We had a wonderful time, the cabin is cute, comfy and has everything that made our stay easy and relaxing. Location is phenomenal andbeing able to bring our pooch made it perfect.

This cute cottage is actually an expansion to a garage out-building, but the place is very clean and well-equipped, fitted with everything you need. The ideal location, in the heart of Leelanau, is quiet & secluded. Although the owner's home is next door, you'd hardly know it; they are thoughtful and considerate folks. The bedrooms are tiny but adequate; the only discomfort is the small double-bed, wedged against the wall. Perhaps it could be swapped with the twin beds in the larger bedroom for a bit more space? Regardless, the price is right for a budget getaway to the most beautiful spot in Michigan.

We had a great stay at this guesthouse! The location was perfect for visiting the dunes and Glen Arbor.

This charming cottage is tucked away at the end of a woodsy drive that ends in a beautiful setting with a forest trail right off the yard leading to and beyond a creek nearby. Despite its secluded location, it is close to many of the places that visitors want to see; the long driveway is right off the M-22. The home itself is very well equipped and stocked with everything you need for your stay. Furnishings are pleasant and comfortable, and books, games, and TV are provided for rainy days or downtime from your peninsula explorations. The host is quickly responsive to any inquiries you may need to make. All in all, this was a perfect spot for us, and we wouldn't hesitate to return or, in the meanwhile, highly recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful stay at Creekside. The house not only met, but even exceeded our expectations, and the location is just fantastic. Our kids loved the forest and the creek, and the quiet location was ideal for the parents. The kitchen was especially well equipped, and it was easy to have family meals at the house. The hosts were incredibly friendly, and answers to questions were always quick. We'll definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay at the Creekside Guest House. The place was spotless and fully stocked with supplies.
My boys enjoyed relaxing the upstairs area. The living room is off the bedrooms, so it felt like a clubhouse. I was a little lonely down in the kitchen but loved having all the modern conveniences. the picnic table outside was great to enjoy the beauty while we ate.
Communication was easy and Ed was thoughtful and considerate of our privacy. -Calling ahead to let us know he was accessing the garage under the guest house. ( separate entrance)
Thanks for having us and we hope to be back!

Our family had a relaxing stay here! We loved the woods, trails and creek. Also, the proximity to sleeping bear dunes and traverse city! The cabin was very clean and well appointed.

"Creekside" is one of the smaller and more affordable rentals in which we've stayed in the area. It was clean and in a quiet location tucked away in the woods down a long dirt road (that Google Maps doesn't recognize) off M22 across from Little Traverse Lake and almost next door to Market 22. It's not on a lake but a short drive to several lakes and towns including Maple City, Cedar, Glen Arbor, and Leland. The owners live on site right next door (their home overlooks the rental), and they were friendly and helpful when we had questions. There are 3 beds upstairs: 2 twins in one room, and a double in the neighboring room. This is smaller than a queen bed, and located against a wall with low-slanted ceiling, which makes for a tight fit for 2 adults. There's a dresser and small fan in each bedroom. While the bedrooms are upstairs, the bathroom/laundry room is downstairs, through the small dining area, right next to the small kitchen. The upstairs living room outside the bedrooms is comfortable has a sofa, 2 chairs, and TV with Direct TV and DVD player. There are lots of books and board games available. There is a small patio with charcoal grill and some chairs, picnic table, fire pit, and storage shed available for renters' use. The owners maintain nice gardens around the property and the small creek is nearby. Internet, A/C, electric, and hot water were reliable. Overall it served as a comfortable home base for exploring the surrounding towns, trails, and lakes.

This is one of the nicest places we’ve stayed in Leelanau. Quiet and spotlessly clean. Even better than it appears in the listing.

This property is the best! Quiet and restful. Lovely paths to the nearby stream. Beautiful yard.
The house was clean and well cared for. The water tasted great and plenty of hot H20. The bathroom and kitchen are downstairs. Sleeping and living room upstairs. Good banister on the carpeted stairs. I'm not sure the pull out couch upstairs is "sleepable". We pulled the mattress off and used it on the floor. The rest of the beds were very comfortable! At night, left the door wall and windows upstairs open with a fan on and it cooled off very quickly.
Loved the dog. Missed our dogs who were at home.

This is a great place to stay, situated conveniently between Glen Arbor, Leland, and the Little Traverse area. The cottage has all the amenities you need, and the cleanliness is top notch.

This is a location to unplug and enjoy nature. Cell phones may not work, depending on your carrier and we had an episode of spotty internt.
We visited the creek and the wooded walking paths several times a day and went to local attractions. The bedroom and living room area is quite charming but not for people with mobility challenges. The upstairs felt like a place to have a slumber party. The kitchen was well stocked to do your own cooking and a couple of the local restaurants have very good food. Just know, you are probably a 30 minute drive from Traverse City, Empire and 20 min to get to Glen Arbor.

We recently stayed at the creekside guest house to attend a wedding in Suttons Bay. We loved the location and private trails from the home to walk our dogs. Its an easy drive to Glen Arbor and traverse city is about 30 minutes. We would love to stay here again! Also super close to Lake Michigan beach access. Clean and very private even though it is a guest house and main house is in close proximity- you would never know it! Our pups also loved sitting out on the upper balcony and looking out over the creek and surrounding woods. Great place!

It's a lovely place to stay. It was clean and a quiet area. We had trouble getting information on vrbo messages coming through so I ended having to call vrbo, waiting 45 minutes to get through before getting directions and code to get in. This was not owners fault but being a former vrbo owner I always communicated directly with my guests so things like this did not happen. Also, this is a remote area and very confusing directions, maybe a map would help or road by road directions would help.
One thing to note if you are 'seniors' like us; the bathroom is downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs. Still a really cute place to stay.

We honestly only had 2 nights here & our days were mostly spent hiking & visiting wineries. However, it was withing driving distance to many of our favorite wineries on Leelanau. Not far drive in Traverse City either. However, after a long day you like to come to a place that is clean & feels like your deep in the woods. Beautiful property! We even took a short walk in the woods to the creek. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

House was clean and in a good location. Google maps takes you to the wrong side of the creek. The driveway is off of M22 and not Shetland Trail. We enjoyed our stay here

Wonderful place. Quiet, clean. The bed was a little too soft and small for my wife and I (we are not big people). The garbage can was full when we took our one small bag out, and the note said to call a phone # when it was full ( we forgot to do that)(also don’t really think we should have to do that?).

We had a great stay with my family of four. Creekside is located in a wooded area in a central location in Leelanau County, with easy driving range to Sleeping Bear Dunes, and to the upper part of the Leelanau Peninsula. The cottage, while private, is immediately adjacent to the owner's house and part of the structure is a garage. We found it extremely clean and it had a wonderful and comfortable living room area, well-equipped with games and puzzles for rainy days. The bedrooms are very small, but that wasn't a problem because of ample storage space elsewhere in the cottage. The kitchen is also well-equipped and we cooked several dinners there. There is also a nice patio and balcony with outdoor seating that we used. The landscaping is beautiful and the pictures don't really do it justice. My kids enjoyed exploring the nearby trails. The bathroom is downstairs, but well-placed nightlights made it easy to navigate, even at night. I highly recommend it for families and we would gladly return here if we come back to the Sleeping Bear Dunes area.

cottage in the woods
We had a great week on the Leelenau pennisula. This cottage worked well for us. It was very clean, had a very well stocked kitchen as far as dishes and pots and pans and was a fabulous location for exploring the pennisula. The arrangement is a little different with the "family room" located upstairs with the bedroooms and the bathroom downstairs with the kitchen and dining area. There is a very nice patio with chairs and tables to enjoy the outdoors. It is located within 30 minutes of most towns on the pennisula and less than 10 minutes to Good Harbor Beach which was awesome (and allows dogs) and very close to Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Heritage Trail linking Sleeping Bear to Good Harbor. The only surpise for me was that the host's home was directly behind the cottage. It wasn't a problem at all, I just was expecting it to be more secluded. Overall, a great place!

Had another great stay. Has everything you need. Beautifully maintained property with a trail to a clear creek. Deer and heron sightings were common. Close to Good Harbor beach. Plus quick access to Glen Arbor, Leland, Sutton’s Bay, Northport and Empire. Owners are friendly and easy to reach. We’ll be back!

Visiting this gorgeous area has become a fall tradition and this cottage has become an important part of that. It is charming and absolutely spotless and is located in the center of great restaurants and outdoor activities. Hiking , Biking , wineries and more are just minutes away. After a busy day I relish the quiet restfulness of the cottage.

Quiet and secluded, this place had exactly what we were looking for. Surrounded by nature preserves to hike in, close to Leland, and Fish Town, and great trails t explore on location. Trail out our back door lead to a picturesque creek and a bridge……which lead to more trails. The dog also loved watching the fall salmon in the creek. Lodging was super clean and cute. Bedrooms and living room on second level, so make sure you can do stairs. We will be back!
