Notre maison ensoleillée et isolée d'Oakland Hills est perchée sur les hauteurs avec un pont avant offrant une vue magnifique sur le comté de Marin, San Francisco, le Bay Bridge et le Golden Gate Bridge. Nous avons également un patio arrière privé. Nous avons récemment ajouté la climatisation centrale complète dans la maison (à partir d'avril 2018).
Le pont avant et l'entrée de la maison est accessible par 18 marches avec deux paliers. La maison a des planchers de bois franc, une salle à manger (6 places) et un salon avec des baies vitrées avec vue, un foyer au bois, une cuisine moderne ouverte avec des comptoirs en granit.
Les deux chambres de l'étage supérieur disposent chacune d'un lit queen-size, la chambre de l'enfant de la chambre principale est équipée d'un lit jumeau et la chambre du bas d'un lit queen-size et d'un lit simple. La salle de bain principale a une baignoire avec douche. La chambre principale a une chambre d'enfant attenante, et ces chambres ont des portes françaises qui s'ouvrent sur le patio arrière. La chambre principale a sa propre salle de bain avec douche. La maison est d'environ 1500 pieds carrés.
Il existe de nombreux livres et peintures originales dans toute la maison.
Vous pouvez rejoindre San Francisco en 20-30 minutes en voiture ou en transports en commun, et le village de Montclair, avec ses cafés, ses boutiques et un marché fermier dominical, est à seulement 2 minutes en voiture ou 20 minutes de marche de notre maison. Berkeley, avec sa grande université et ses merveilleux restaurants, se trouve à seulement 10 minutes en voiture.

C'est dans les collines et bien que proche de la vie en ville à Oakland, Berkeley et San Francisco, il est assez vert et naturel ici, avec de nombreux arbres, cerfs, oiseaux et sentiers de randonnée. Nous sommes à seulement cinq minutes en voiture de la colline qui mène aux vastes parcs de Redwood, notamment le parc régional de Redwood, le parc Joaquin Miller et le parc Sibly. Nous disposons de brochures détaillant les différents parcs d’Oakland et de Berkeley situés à proximité.

Very enjoyable and the cat was a bonus. It came right k er as soon as we arrived. The house was very comfortable and the view was outstanding. Everything we needed was an available.

The house has a spectacular view of the bay and we spent many happy mornings and evenings on the deck. It is well stocked with anything you might need. They have a lot of fans for the hot days and evenings in August and the air conditioning did cool down things in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our time!!

My husband and I stayed in this wonderful home from home on the last leg of our Honeymoon. The home had everything we needed and it was so refreshing to find a holiday home that had herbs and spices and all the little things you might need to cook with. The view across the bay was stunning we were far enough to have spectacular views but also close enough to be able to drive and be parked up at Pier 39 in about 25 minutes ( traffic depending!). We spent many of our evenings on the front deck admiring the view and watching the wildlife. We also had a couple of evenings in the hot tub and using the ping pong table! We had a fabulous time and were so comfortable. Thank you for your quick communication and allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

We loved our stay at this property! It is a lovely, comfortable home and matched this site’s description. Everything you need is there: linens/towels/dishes/utensils/cookware, etc.
The home is adorned with original paintings and we all enjoyed looking at them and picking our favorites - not an easy task; this family is very talented!
In addition to my family of four (including a 12 & 9 YO), my parents stayed w us for several nights before they stayed at my brother’s house nearby and we all had plenty of room. The bedrooms were very comfortable; my daughter loved the car bed in her “vrooom” 😂.
We hosted a dinner for us, my parents, and my brother’s family and it was great! My husband said everything he needed was in the kitchen and we had a delicious meal together.
The owners were very responsive and helpful as our trip neared. They even asked the ages of our kids to ensure there were books/games available to them - we learned and played several rounds of dominos during our stay and the kids had fun playing ping pong in the back! The owners also left detailed instructions for refuse, heating/cooling, TV, incidentals, etc. They also left us a wonderful bottle of wine to welcome us!
We know the area well but various shopping needs can be met in Montclair. Note that the road the house is on is very hilly/curvy (per usual there) and not best for runs/walks.
Lastly, the view from the front balcony is absolutely stunning! Words cannot do it justice!

Spent a week and rental was as advertised and then some. Great view and plenty of space for our family of 5. Owners where great in communicating all the way through too. Would recommend.

This home was absolutely wonderful! My family came to visit my husband and I for the holidays and we all stayed in this house for the week. Everything was just like the photos..especially that view!! On top of that, the kitchen was fully stocked with necessities that were meant for us to use. I loved perusing the bookshelves and paintings throughout the entire place - there's so many to enjoy!
From even before checking in, Janet and Kees were so responsive to messages and so kindly even set up a mini crib for our baby. And during our stay they were very easy to reach in case we didn't know how to use something or had any other questions. Their house was the perfect place for my family to spend our first Christmas with our daughter. It truly felt like home away from home :).

True to listing, excellent home. Beautiful views every day to San Francisco, bay bridge, golden gate. Very comfortable, filled with art and books. The hot tub was great. Hosts left us a nice welcoming bottle of wine, fruits. EV very thing was excellent. Thank you.. will hope to visit again.

The view from this house is spectacular!
The owners were a pleasure to deal with- they even “gifted” us their 2 newspaper subscriptions for our 6 week stay. There is an extensive book collection along with lots of lovely paintings by the artist owner. The kitchen is very well stocked.
This is a great house if you love nature, reading, art, and cooking!

Gorgeous, comfortable home with amazing views! Relaxing setting, outdoor areas were great. Clean home, and good amenities, also great for a family with kids. We will definitely be back, and rent this place again.

This house is so adorably charming and inviting! From the incredible artwork on the walls to the beautiful flowers outside, everything about this house makes you feel comfortable. Being able to feed the birds in the morning was a special little treat and we enjoyed being visited by a cute little cat almost daily (he/she stayed on the front deck). Yet again, just a few added touches to make you feel at home. Some things to note for your stay…. The owners were incredible about providing many of the items you generally need for your stay, such as toilet paper, paper towels, coffee filters, etc., etc.. Not every rental provides these so we were very appreciative. Be sure to shut the blinds before you leave for the day. The house does get warm during the day but we would open things up when we got back. With the breeze and cross ventilation, things cooled off quickly. Lastly, be aware that there are no sidewalks and people do tend to zip around quickly. Not necessarily the safest area to go for walks or runs. Very reminiscent of St. Thomas, VI in that respect, if you’ve ever been. All in all we had a great trip and we would definitely stay in this house again if/when we travel to the area again. Thank you!!!

What a wonderful house and very kind folks to easily communicate with! It accommodated our entire family, including 3 kids, wonderfully! Not to mention, being inside is like enjoying a visit to your own little art gallery at all times - beautiful! Indeed, my wife even arranged to purchase a painting as a gift for me. Will stay again if possible when we're back down in Oaktown! Thank you!

We spent a week here while visiting my son who lives in Berkeley. The house was clean, well maintained and comfortable. We loved the paintings inside the house and sitting out on the deck enjoying the amazing view. If you are there on Sunday, there’s a very nice farmers market in Montclair. Perfect for a quiet, relaxing week.

We felt so at home in this rental. It was peaceful, comfortable, and beautiful. The view was stunning, from anywhere on the main floor, inside or out. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and the WiFi easily handled all our devices streaming videos, having zoom calls, etc. There are a lot of stairs, but it was worth every step to watch the sun set over the bay each evening.

The house is stunning and feels like a home. The art on the walls give it a very personal feel. The host-prepared booklet and other documentation is well thought out and made for a very easy stay. Definitely a place we plan to come back to.

Janet and Kees were very accommodating with the wildfire in 2020 changing our initial dates of arrival. The property was clean, very nice, and tucked away to feel very private. They have a binder which recommends some restaurants and activities in the area, and gave clear instructions for the jacuzzi, windows, wifi etc. Thank you both very much for a great stay!

This is a lovely, spacious home with every amenity available. Communication with the owners was excellent. We had 4 adults and 2 small children. Children's room was delightful with a doll house, books, play table, toys, and a bed shaped like a car. The room adjoins the master bedroom. The view was extraordinary. Though it takes some time, we had no trouble getting in and out of San Francisco taking the ferry the first day, the BART another day, and driving over the Golden Gate Bridge to Golden Gate Park a third day. We also visited wine country and drove up to Calistoga. We were very happy with our choice of this beautiful home for our accomodation.

We had a cultural experience as this house of full of unique art and wonderful books. The beds are extremely comfortable which is very important to us as we have back problems. We enjoyed the hot tub almost every night. The view was absolutely amazing!

We came into town for a family wedding and 6 adults stayed comfortably in the house. Highlights were cleanliness of home, sunrises and sunsets off the deck and relaxing hot tub. Close to grocery store and highways. Hosts were approachable if we had any questions.

We enjoyed our stay at Janet and Kees’s home in Montclair. Highlights were the hot tub (providing much needed relaxation after long days exploring San Francisco) and the lovely view over the Bay Area. The house is clean and well presented with everything you might expect to find at home (if not more) and has a unique character which no doubt reflects its owners. My wife found the mattress in the master bedroom too soft, although it was fine for me. Our children (14&11) were more than adequately catered for by the other two main bedrooms.
We found the location good as a base to travel to SF, using the BART from Rockridge which takes about 20 minutes to get into the city, although this frequently involved meeting some ‘unusual’ personalities on the trains..!
In summary I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable home in a quiet location with good local amenities and reasonably quick access to SF.
