My best friend and I planned a quick weekend trip to the area and had the BEST time staying with Phoebe! Her home is so welcoming and such a beautiful location.
Breakfast was excellent as many others have included in their reviews. We also took advantage of the hot tub and kayaks. Phoebe makes you feel like you’re visiting family or a friend. Thank you for the amazing weekend!

We planned a short get-a-way to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. Phoebe was there to great us upon arrival and we noted in the ad and our own experience that she actually resides in the home, not separately, and has her own bedroom on the main floor. She used the kitchen to bake but otherwise
stayed out of site for the most part to allow guests to use the rest of the home on the main floor- the living room and sun room. She is polite and conscientious to retreat back to her bedroom whenever guests are present. We woke daily to the wonderful smell of breakfast which we enjoyed together each day with the host at the dining table on the main floor. We were asked to remove our shoes upon arrival and whenever in the home, which we accommodated. Phoebe is delightful and her blueberry pancakes are the best I’ve have had! In fact I asked to have them two days in a row. As it was just my wife and I, and our purpose was to enjoy our anniversary, we were not sure how it would work out given the host lives on property. It worked out okay! We enjoyed her company and she was considerate enough not to overly intrude on our privacy, given we were there for a romantic getaway. Thank you for the experience Phoebe and we wish you all the best!

Phoebe's place is very cozy and even though it is a shared space there is still privacy. She is a wonderful host and makes a nice breakfast!

Such a wonderful stay and the perfect get-away! The owner is very kind and a joy to wake up to! The breakfasts were delicious, especially the blueberry pancakes! The beautiful property is a perfect location for relaxing, fishing, kayaking and it's close to Top Sail beach!

We really enjoyed meeting Phoebe and staying at her B&B. We had everything we needed plus a yummy breakfast every morning. We took the kayaks out which was really an added plus. Phoebe was very flexible about our plans and gave us some tips on where to go and see while we were on the coast. She’s a gem!

By Far the best place to stay in Hamstead. Phoebes breakfasts were so amazing and we were full every time. The house was so clean and the beds were super comfy. Best sleep I’ve gotten in a long time. Also had amazing conversations with Phoebe. I hope we are able to come back soon.

We loved our time at Nana Phoebe's! We stayed for 4 nights and when we left, our 9-year old said, "We left too soon." The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is delicious, Phoebe's warm hospitality made us feel well cared for, using the kayaks was a blast, and it was an easy drive back and forth to the beach at surf city. Other nearby highlights include the Karen Beasley turtle hospital and the roller skating rink above the post office on Topsail Beach. The sun room has a beautiful view over the water. We would love to go back!

Phoebe made us feel right at home. We really enjoyed the homemade breakfasts she prepared for us each morning and the time we had chatting with her. She had lots of helpful information available for sightseeing and restaurants. We also enjoyed the kayaks. Hope to go back some day.

This property is wonderfully situated right on the intracoastal waterway. Great views. Enjoyed fishing off the dock, kayaking was awesome. Breakfast was wonderful too, homemade blueberry pancakes are the best. The hospitality of our host, Phoebe, was really special. She's a very sweet lady and happy to have us. the sunroom overlooks the backyard and the waterway. Sunrises are perfect, and the moonrise over the water is spectacular too. Topsail beach and surf city aren't too far away either, maybe 20 min. We'll be going back. Great price too.

Phoebe is Amazing!
We spent a week with Phoebe while our daughter was at Sea Turtle Camp. What an amazing adventure we had! Phoebe had so many ideas for things to do around the area and it’s so obvious she loves everything about the environment and history there. We also took some much needed time for ourselves and I especially enjoyed relaxing in the hammock for hours. The breeze and sounds of nature made my heart full! I think I am now ready to go back to work fully charged. Although if I could just stay with Phoebe forever, my life would be complete. Thank you Phoebe!! You are so special!! ❤️

Phoebe is delightful! So easy to talk to and very accommodating. The house and grounds were clean and beautiful. Breakfast was always delicious! Perfect in every way
This stay was most enjoyable. No attention to detail was spared. From the delicate flowers in the bedroom, fresh water in a carafe each night, to snacks and beverages in the in-room mini fridge. The whole house was immaculate. Breakfasts were sumptuous and conversations delightful. Would definitely stay again anytime in the area.

Marsh Madness
We don’t watch basketball but we love the marsh and intercostal waterway. As quickly as we could get our bags in the rooms we headed out to use the free Kayaks. They were much better than the ones we have rented in the past and the area is very easy to navigate and explore. Don’t expect sandy beaches in the marsh but we could walk along the mud flats and find oysters, clams and other fun stuff. We tried fishing but this was limited due to a cold front that had just passed through. I am sure summer fishing would be better. Later we headed over to Topsail Beach and it was really nice. Not crowded and great clean sand. Again that cold front made the water too cold for much swimming although a few brave souls were. After a great seafood dinner we were back at the home, we cleaned up and relaxed just like it was our home. The host scheduled our requested breakfast for 8:00 am and it was great! Everything you could ask for. Off to fish with a guide in the mars and off the beach. I had to take a work call the next morning and the private sun porch was a great spot to take the web call. We will be back when the weather is warmer for more great times.

GREAT LOCATION
This was a very modern B&B, very nice (not an old stuffy house) loved the breakfast served every morning and our great owner/host. The view of the intercoastal was great from the sun porch. This home was a close drive to the beach (Surf City Beach), and just 30 minutes into Wilmington's Riverwalk. Lots of great places to eat. We will difinately be back to visit.
