We were only able to stay one night due to my mom's travel plans, but we hope to come back for a longer stay someday! What a lovely home. The windows provide a serene view at all times. The neighborhood is so peaceful. It was my mom's 65th birthday, and this was the perfect relaxing place for us to celebrate. The salon and wine were a perfect touch. Somehow the dogs seemed right at home. The property manager was so kind and helpful, too.

A fantastic place on a lovely island. The view was amazing. So well stocked with everything one would need for cooking. The welcome gift was perfect for our late afternoon arrival. We loved it and would stay there again. And a big thanks for

The view was fantastic watching ferries go in and out and bald eagles flying by. The big beds were very good. I would advise taking your own coffee pot as the one there takes over an hour to brew a full pot. The cooking stove was also very slow to heat up. We had a lovely, quiet stay though and enjoyed our time on Lopez.

Multiple Neighbors are extremely close! Listened to construction most of the day. Was not peaceful. The home needs to be better maintained. It was not cleaned very well. Alot of money to stay in this home only to have to do alot of cleaning . Rips in the furniture made the living area not so nice to relax in. Wood stove was not able to be used due to door handle was broken.The heat exaust for the home was piped out to deck ,smelled bad. So we had to turn off the heat to house to enjoy this space. My husband had to clean the bathroom before we used it. Radiate flooring didn't warm up. Damp bed linens were left in the dryer and the washer was so dirty and rusted. Outlets kept popping in the kitchen. Under sink odor was just plain gross. We didn't enjoy the bedroom upstairs due to no lights working. We have visited the Islands before and I have to say it was a very disappointing stay. Lopez it self was beautiful but this house was just not enjoyable.

Many rocks along driveway make driving and opening car doors tough (took a toll on our vehicles). Couldn't get tv to work -- no batteries in remote, no reception when we got that fixed. Owner was helpful, but took many tries. Info on internet connection is out of date on web and in in-house book. Finally -- and a big one! The second "bathroom" is just a toilet and sink in laundry room and difficult to use -- not properly described on-line. These are all things that can be fixed fairly easily and I am sure would be appreciated by other renters.

This home is gorgeous! Matt was a superb host - everything was exactly as presented and even better than we expected! The home is beautiful and the property so beautiful and peaceful. We wish we had stayed longer and hope to be back! Thank you Matt for sharing your home!

There were a few small (to us) details that I didn’t realize based on the listing—master with a view is up steep stairs, and the seating around the fire pit was lackluster. There are also no window treatments so the late summer nights and early mornings may be a problem for some but we enjoyed the long days and the view!
Overall this house was a good base for our island getaway and Matthew was helpful and accommodating.

This was the perfect location to get ready for my wedding. My bridemaids and I enjoyed the view very much while we snacked and had our hair done. The house has a lot of charm. The only thing I didn't realize when looking at the listing was that the master bedroom upstairs doesn't have a closing door so there is less privacy in that room but it didn't matter for us. Something to be aware of though! Great property. Thank you!

Private beach is easy to access and good for swimming.
Two of the bedrooms are upstairs and both bathrooms are downstairs which may be inconvenient for some folks.
We appreciated the kindess of the Lopez Island residents and the slow, laid back vibe of the island.
Overall a very peaceful visit.

The house setting was quiet and peaceful with a nice view for chilling. My dog says thanks for being pet friendly-much better than the prison kennel. The house was well supplied with everything you need. The beds and furniture were comfortable. Nice touches included 1) firewood for the fire ring in the evening, 2) an internet connection that worked just fine, 3) a nice outdoor deck for the sunny days, 4) good water pressure, and 5) popcorn for munching. We got to meet owner Matt who was a nice guy-thanks for sharing your wonderful getaway.

We walked in and probably the best fire I've ever seen was roaring in the fireplace! Such a treat. Beautiful views from the big windows. Kitchen was well equipped. Loved that there was a mud room in the entry way to keep our boots after our morning hikes. Perfect location for accessing the whole island. My only tip is to restart the router if the internet is giving you problems. That seemed to make a big difference for us. I would definitely recommend this home for a relaxing getaway. The smoked salmon bonus was also phenomenal.

We arrived to fire in wood stove/tasty house. Complimentary bottle of wine & Matthew's smoked salmon (Dec/Jan treat!) - delicious. Beautiful view, calm quiet spot. Everything we needed to prepare our meals and relax. So quiet we could hear owls & loons in evening. Cleared enough to see stars from deck. We felt completely at home.

Very nice location. It was quiet with a view of the ferries and fishing boats. Amenities were nice. Kept the cabin warm with the wood stove and the wood that was provided. If I return to Lopez Island, I would stay here again.

Scenic location (the pictures don't lie!), and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing 5-night stay. We loved the wood stove, and the fact that there was enough fuel chopped and ready for the entire stay. I slept in the upstairs bedroom, which is like a treehouse overlooking the Sound. Cracked the window at night and fell asleep to the soothing accompaniment of raindrops. My sister loved the downstairs bedroom (right next to the bathroom) which also has a water view. Beds were great. Neither of us had been to the San Juans for years, and this place was the perfect spot for us to stay while we re-experienced the calm and beauty of the islands.

Always happy to stay at a clean and cozy home. The fireplace was perfect for the cold weather, with plenty of firewood provided by the owner.
The main bathroom was quite nice with heated floors and a spacious shower. I just wish there was a 2nd full bathroom with another shower.
Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were comfy. Amazing mornings watching the view with a nice cup of coffee 👍 Would definitely come back again.

My only complaint is our stay wasn’t long enough! House has sweeping views and is very well appointed with good towels and linens all the needed kitchen supplies. Very important it was clean.

Great house with cozy wood stove and 3 ample bedrooms. Large deck faces the sound with fantastic views and access to the beach. Owner was wonderful to work with. Great for cyclists or car traveling guests

Loved this place. The view is fantastic and sunrises spectacular.
The house was clean and ready for us. Easy communication with the owner, and Lopez Is a real gem. Be "chill" about the ferry as it is not on time a lot.

We enjoyed our 5-night stay at this property. The view was wonderful and the easy access to the private beach was great.
The house and kitchen were very well equipped, and it was always very quiet. This is the 1st time we have stayed on the east side of the island, and it was a nice change for us experiencing the sunrise instead of the sunset.

It was great. Matthew was really a nice person: What he told us of the housing and the island was precise and has depth only locals could know of. Although we arrived at the house a few hours earlier than the expected time, we were warmly welcomed and greeted by Matthew. He kindly let us use his rowing boat in his private waters, which was not included in the rental option, of course, and we had great fun with it. We had much better quality time here than in Hawaii or Key West. Thank you, Matthew. Jason

We loved renting Matthew's home! It was such a quaint and beautiful setting. The private beach is so peaceful! Our kids had a blast as well!
