The property was absolutely lovely- even nicer than the pictures would suggest! The location was perfect with restaurants and groceries within easy walking distance. Our stay was cut short so we actually would love to return and we would definitely stay here again

We stayed at Consul's residence during a one week visit to Ponta Delgada in February. There were ten of us in total (including 6 young children). The house was extremely spacious - with enough beds and bathrooms for everyone. Everything was very clean and the linens were of excellent quality. The backyard has lots of space for kids to run around. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you would need. Pedro was very accommodating and helpful. We asked if we could shift some things around to child-proof the house, and he was very encouraging. He also brought us beach towels that we could bring to the thermal springs and allowed us to stay later on our final day so we could enjoy the city before our flight left in the afternoon. The location is extremely convenient. Walkable to a large supermarket, playground and gardens (which our kids loved exploring), as well as to restaurants and cafes downtown. We jogged along the boardwalk every morning and had coffee and gelatos at cute little cafes around the beautiful cobblestoned city. We visited many sights around the island, which were all less than an hour's drive away. We had a fabulous time exploring the island and it was so nice to come home to Consul's residence every evening.

We were a group of 7 adults who had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful house for our time on Sao Miguel. The house is centrally located to everything you could want. It’s very large and comfortable with every amenity at your finger tips. The owner is always very quick to reply to any questions or concerns. I would highly recommend this home, you won’t be disappointed

The house is very specious and in a perfect location (quite area with 5 min walk to the mall and 10 min walk to all the restaurants). The kitchen is big and equipped with everything you need. the outside BBQ and dining area is a big plus. We were 2 families sharing the house and had lots of space and privacy. The communication with the host was easy and he provided all the support we needed. Overall it was an amazing place to stay and very much recommended.

The house is so beautiful, and clean,and so well equipped with everything we need. It satisfied needs of 8 very different people in our group. 9 days wasn’t enough to enjoy everything it had to offer. And location could not be more convenient. Walking to the waterfront, delicious market, restaurants. Can’t wait to comeback

This house is fantastic inside and out! Five European styled bedrooms (2 with a walk out balcony) two full baths and 2 half. The outdoor kitchen is surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants. A fantastic property!

We just had the pleasure of spending a week at Consul's Residence in Ponta Delgada, and it is everything you see and so much more. The house is beautiful and has every amenity you can imagine, and the outside BBQ and sitting area is beautiful, and only minutes away from the downtown. Beautifully decorated and very quiet! Pedro and his wife were very responsive and were very quick to respond to any questions. We will be heading back to Ponta Delgada again and would definitely stay at the beautiful Consul's Residence again. Thanks D

We were welcomed by our hospitable and service-minded host Pedro who showed us around the house. And what a house it was. Large spacious rooms beautiful decorated, nice furniture, comfy beds and every amenity you think you need (and some more). A lot of space to socialize, both inside the house, on the balcony or in the garden room which was equipped with an outdoor kitchen and barbeque. We had high expectations on the house and they were exceeded! The location of the house is great with a large shopping mall close by and a just short walk to the city centre and the harbour. We were 7 persons and you could easily be 10 without a problem in this house. We had a wonderful stay and can really recommend the Consul’s residence!

This is a beautiful, magical space with a very responsive owner. Five of us visited and did an equal amount of cooking and waking to the local restaurants. The location is very close to the airport and the perfect central spot for visiting the island. The outdoor kitchen is amazing for grilling and playing card games on the large outdoor table. The local large grocery storere is right up the street and the restaurants are right down the street by the water. We could easily walk or drive since it had a convenient driveway. The fancy European cooktop was a little difficult to figure out and could use a more detailed description.

Hemos estado muy a gusto en la casa. Es grande, bien equipada, perfectamente limpia y cuidada. Tiene todas las comodidades que hemos necesitado. Esta bien situada, a 5 minutos del centro caminando, y a la vez bien comunicada por carretera para visitar la isla.

We initially booked this home because of the size as we were a large party but the house itself was wonderful. The home offers air conditioning which during august was a huge perk, beautiful furniture, great views from the upstairs balcony and a lot of modern amenities such as a washer/dryer and dishwasher. The kitchen also had everything we could possibly need and we made breakfast every day and dinner a lot of the time. An outdoor kitchen/grill was also recently put in which we used at least 3 times and we were able to easily and quickly purchase charcoal from the shop up the street. The house location is very convenient and centrally located and the hotel next door provides an easy landmark and we never had any issues with noise, etc. We were able to access the Parque Atlantico which has a supermarket very quickly as well as all the shops and waterfront with a short walk. The fenced in yard provided space for the children in our group to safely play and the adults enjoyed the shaded front porch. We would definitley stay here again.

The home was amazing with every accommodation that we needed. The location was great, we were close to the mall and down town.

For the nightly price of one upscale hotel room, you can instead rent this beautiful, 5 bedroom home in the heart of Ponta Delgada. This was our first trip to the Azores. We had 4 adults (one couple, two singles) stay here for 6 nights and we had no complaints. Coming home to this place at the end of a long day exploring Sao Miguel was a welcome respite. It’s clean. It’s roomy. It’s comfortable. It feels luxurious. It’s VERY safe and secure. Even though you’re close to center of town, the house is up and back off of the street (reducing typical city noise). Close the windows at night, turn on the a/c or fan, and you’ll hardly hear a thing. It’s a short walk to the old town center, and a short walk the other direction to the mall and supermarket. There’s a well known hotel right next door that is a convenient place to have taxis drop you off or pick you up. We never felt unsafe in Ponta Delgada, but you have nothing to worry about in this house. It’s a fortress once you lock it up, but still feels light and open. There’s plenty of room inside and out, with a large, open floor plan on the first floor, and then multiple outdoor areas and a large yard walled off from the street. We greatly enjoyed sitting on the verandas drinking coffee in the morning and wine in the evening, looking out over the city. The kitchen is fully equipped and we used it a lot. We stocked up at the grocery store the first day, and also brought cheeses, breads, wines, etc. back from our tours around the island and easily stored it all. Quick meals and snacks were a breeze. We had a tour guide for a few days. She’s lived on Sao Miguel for over 20 years, and she was incredibly impressed with this property. We were so glad we chose this property for our first trip to the Azores. I would have no hesitation renting this house again if/when we return to Ponta Delgada.

I highly recommend this property stayed in August 2017 within walking distance to the waterfront area very quiet and private and can't say enough about how well organized and clean it was and the fact that it has air conditioning which is rare on the island was very much appreciated. The owners were very accommodating and easy to contact you will not be disappointed. Don't pass this one up .

Hemos compartido un grupo de ocho amigos una estancia de 10 dias en la Casa del Consul de Ponta Delgada ( Azores). La casa , a aparte de ser muy bonita, es muy amplia, y dispone de todos los servicios. Nos hemos sentido muy cómodos en ella. Es de destacar también su ubicación, a tres minutos andando de las partes mas antiguas y bellas del centro histórico de la ciudad. Los propietarios nos han proporcionado todo tipo de atenciones , a parte de un servicio de limpieza general en mitad de nuestra instancia. Sin duda intentaremos repetir viaje a las islas , y desde luego lo intentaremos en esta casa. Antonio Montenegro.

Awesome is actually too mild a word to use for our experience at the Consul's Residence. This was our first experience with HomeAway and it will be a hard act to follow should we use HomeAway again. The owner/manager was more than efficient and kind. They were attentive to every need and anticipated any difficulties with proactive energies. The house is superb! It has every convenience you could need or want. It is tastefully appointed and felt like home as soon as we walked in. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that the owner/manager arranged for a house cleaning midway through our 10-day stay. The location is convenient to the central district as well as the modern shopping mall. The lovely and relaxing Antonio Borges Park is right around the corner. The off street parking was greatly appreciated as well as the completely fenced yard and shaded verandah. We would not hesitate to stay at this wonderful place again and recommend you look no further for an awesome place to call home during your visit to the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores.

We had a wonderful stay, although we didn’t utilize all of the rooms as the property sleeps 10 the layout of the house was perfect, very warm, clean and inviting. What you don’t see in the pictures is the balcony up top overlooking the city and ocean, such a nice spot to have a coffee-tea and enjoy the view of the city. Quiet neighborhood yet you’re still part of the action as there’s a lot of parties and entertainment in August, about a 10min minute walk to the center of the city where you can watch live bands, have dinner, coffee, it was wonderful. Very close to the market, shops, bakery so you’ll have no problem getting all the essentials you need. I would highly recommend renting a car if you want to see the island which is breathtaking. If you’re travelling with young children I would also recommend that you bring an IPad for movies at night as there’s not much selection for the kids and no dvd player if your planning on bringing your own movies, it wasn’t much of a problem for us as we were out most of the day and night but good to know if you want to spend the day relaxing around the house.
