Nous appelons cette maison "The Monkey Barrel", car avec tout le plaisir, de rires et pitreries qui ont lieu alors que nous sommes à la plage ... cette maison parfois se sent heureux comme un baril de singes!
Ceci est une maison récemment rénovée avec tout le confort à l'esprit, y compris zoné climatisation et du chauffage à travers.
Niveau principal: cuisine ouverte avec bar et salon avec TV 3D et de nouveaux appareils en acier inoxydable, comptoirs en granit, meubles de salon, et de planchers de bois franc. Deux chambres comprennent un maître avec un lit king-size et coin lecture confortable, et la seconde propose deux lits avec des draps de luxe. Salle de bain complète partagée avec nouvelle baignoire en fonte et carrelage personnalisé.
2e étage: Très grande barre humide avec comptoirs en granit et coin salon avec un nouveau réfrigérateur à vin, bar réfrigérateur et meubles de salon. Deux chambres contiennent chacune un lit queen avec des draps de luxe. Salle de bain complète partagée avec nouvelle baignoire en fonte et carrelage personnalisé.
Niveau inférieur: Coin cuisine avec comptoirs en granit et de nouveaux appareils. Deux chambres, chacune avec deux lits jumeaux avec de nouveaux draps de luxe. Plein buanderie et sortie sur terrasse arrière. Salle de bain complète partagée avec nouvelle baignoire et douche.

It was first time most of the family had been to Nantucket so the property's central location on the island was perfect as it allowed plenty of choices from heading into town, exploring with bikes (rental shop 5 mins from house) or just grabbing a coffee each morning across the street. Working with Kirby was excellent she was quick to respond with any issues that came up before & during the weekend. Definitely recommend for family gatherings, plenty of space.

My friend and I celebrated our birthday here with a group of 14 and all fit comfortably. The house is very well-kept and in a perfect location. We had a lot of fun at The Muse, and the cafe right across the street has great food and coffee. Kirby was super pleasant and made the whole process easy. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here for a long weekend with a group totaling 8. The house was perfetly split up to accomodate our group size while giving everyone enough space. There was a bathroom for every 2 bedrooms which made it easy for us to get ready before our weekend events We also had a great time in the hot tub! We were able to walk into town during the day when it was bright and sunny (though took a uber/cab at night). The host, Kirby, was extremely responsive even though she was on vacation. We defilitely want to return to this house in the future!

We were in town for a family wedding. The Money Barrel was fabulous. We had lots of laughs. It was very clean and exactly as it is presented. Every home should be equipped like this one. It has everything you need. Communications with the owner was great. Kirby was extremely responsive to all of my questions and needs. We would definitely stay here again.

We just had a group of 12 out for my wife’s birthday and the Monkey Barrel was the perfect spot. Clean, centrally located and across the street from a cute little coffee shop we could not have asked for anything more. We split our time between the house, downtown and the Brewery and nothing was more than a five minute ride away. We even walked to town one day in about 20 minutes.
Everyone had their own bed, the yard was perfect for being outside and the hot tub was a wonderful touch.
The hosts were terrific with communication and so friendly. We would go back in a heartbeat and give the Monkey Barrel a well deserved 5 stars. Thank you so much!!!!

Thanksgiving 2020
We had a great experience renting the Monkey Barrel! We have been coming down for Thanksgiving weekend for several years now and have always gotten a number of hotel rooms but this year we thought we would find a house for an extended (Wednesday-Sunday) stay and the Monkey Barrel worked out perfectly with plenty of beds for everyone and two separate living rooms allowing us to split up and watch multiple things while we hung out killing time. The house also had everything necessary to prepare meals which made the trip a little more convenient rather than eating out each meal. Kirby the owner was responsive, honest and very supportive of everything we needed.
Overall - an awesome experience and will definitely look to use the property again in the future!

Amazing Long Weekend on Nantucket!
The Monkey Barrel was the perfect house for a long weekend with a big group of friends. The house was pictured exactly how it is in the post and was very spacious between the three floors and the fenced in outdoors. Having the upstairs wet bar, the grill, and hot tub were all a huge plus for hanging at the home.
The house is in a great location with a cute cafe across the street for morning coffee, Stop and Shop a short walk or bike ride down the road, and a few other spots close by (The Muse, Yummy).
Communication between the host was quick and accommodating and the house was extremely clean upon arrival.
The only caveat I would make is to follow the Welcome Guide and make sure to schedule disposal of your own trash if it exceeds the designated barrel. Costs will be taken out of the deposit if there's an excessive amount.
Either way, I would definitely stay at the Monkey Barrel again! Amazing house on island!

The house was exactly as pictured and was perfect for our group. Location was easy enough to get into town, and the yard with hot tub and grill was great. All around we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return the the Monkey Barrel!

Fantastic property for two families to share, 12 adults and 2 children and more than enough room!!
We rented this property for a wedding. With Two families of 12 adults and two children the property was fantastic! Anything we needed was readily available. Great location to all areas on the island. Great house!

Wonderful property.....only 2 days to enjoy
My family and I planned our trip to Nantucket for my brother's wedding. Unfortunately due to Hurricane Jose and ferry cancellations, our family was only able to enjoy 2 out of the scheduled 4 days at the Monkey Barrel. Kirby, one of the homeowners, was easy to communicate with and dud crefit us for one nights stay, which we were most appreciative of.
This home was fully stocked with every type of utensil, appliance, glassware, dishes that you could possibly need for your vacation here. All 6 bedrooms were nicely decorated and the beds quite comfortable. The yard was definitely the entertainment spot! Built-in weber grill, refrigerator, ice maker and the cherry on top.....the hot tub! Plenty of seating and plenty of room for lawn games. We will definitely come back to the Monkey Barrel.

Wonderful space for a big family!
The Monkey Barrel was the perfect home for our family get together! Excellent space for the 12 of us (8 adults, 4 children), great deck with hot tub, Viking gas grill, large table with enough chairs, and fenced in yard with great grass. The house has everything you could need, everything! Kirby and Mike are great hosts!

Monkey Barrel
This house is so great! It's a bike ride to Surfside Beach, which is one of the best beaches on the island (snack bar, lifeguards, and surfing waves). It's a bike ride to town as well as to the grocery store. The location couldn't be better. It's clean, and well cared for. Kirby is great to deal with, and provides a detailed over view of the house and the island which I referred back to several times! I hope to come back next summer.

House is absolutely beautiful. Well maintained, clean and very accommodating for larger parties. My group of 13 had a blast and would def rent property again. The owner is super nice and easy to work with also. 5 star for sure on this one.

The PERFECT Nantucket Vacation Home!
I can't say enough good things about the owners or the Monkey Barrel itself. Kirby was extremely responsive, organized and professional, making the stay very easy. The property is immaculate from the inside out, and is completely stocked with every accoutrement you can think of. The home was very clean, the appliances are high end, and (my personal favorite!) the Monkey Barrel has an amazing hot tub and backyard. Location is perfect as you are within short walk of 2 cafes (45 Surfside and Yummy), a bicycle rental shop, and still close to town. I am so grateful that we found this property - by FAR the best value on the island for a completely updated home with this guest capacity. Thank you Kirby and family for the wonderful hospitality and for allowing us to experience your wonderful spot.

The house was exactly as advertised - great location, comfortable for a large group to stay, very well kept-up. Unfortunately the weather kept us from using the grill, but it looks great too. Kirby was very communicative and made it easy for us. No hesitations recommending it!

Great House - So great I keep going back
I've had the pleasure of staying at the Monkey Barrel on more than one occasion over several different summers. It's centrally located on the island that makes for easy access to Surfside Beach on the south side of Nantucket (by the bike path or a short cab ride) and easy walk into town for a night out. The house is gorgeous, recently renovated with high end appliances/outdoor deck and high end gas grill, and of course, the HOT TUB! Bedrooms on three separate floors and a sitting area upstairs gives people privacy to relax (or god forbid have to escape to do some work while on vacation). Kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, knives, grilling utensils and so on if you like to stay in and cook as a group. I'm sure I'll be back when I can!

Beautiful house, central location for all ACK fun
The Monkey Barrel is a barrel of fun big enough to accommodate a large group. The house has a renovated kitchen, it's tastefully decorated, well-maintained, and clean. Spacious backyard has an amazing grill, and there is a hot tub! The lovely downtown area of the island and the beautiful beaches are a nice walk, or short cab or bike ride, away. This was not my not my first stay at the Monkey Barrel and hopefully won't be my last.

The space was clean, updated and beautiful! Perfect 3 day weekend. Big bag yard with grill and hot tub was perfect! Would return in a heart beat! Owners easily available for contact.

We had a large group so finding something with enough space was key and this was the perfect fit!
Beds were comfy, deck and hot tub were great!! It's a little far from town for walking so we ended up renting jeeps which made the stay that much more comfortable. We will def consider this house for our next Nantucket stay!

Amazing Vacation Home
Our family just spent the most incredible week at the Monkey Barrel. The home was exactly as described, maybe even more beautiful in-person. We had 11 people total at the home. 4 adults, 7 children (ages 5-16).and our dog Jackson.
Everything in the house was top of the line. It had a beautiful "beachy" feel and every amenity we could have wanted was included (the A/C was very much appreciated given the hot weather we had all week). We were so pleasantly surprised at how cozy the beach towels were and that the beach chairs were comfy. We took a risk leaving all that stuff at home and it truly paid off and made our packing a lot easier!
The location of the home was also perfect for us. The kids could ride their bikes to the beach or to town - which we did every day. Also there were a couple of athletic fields right next door which were amazing - they must have played over 50 games of whiffle ball.
Honestly I cannot say enough about this place. It was an absolutely beautiful and comfortable home. There could not have been a better "barrel" to house all of our little monkeys.
