We stopped here for 3 nights on our way to Denali. The location is ideal - close to town, yet removed from the crowds. The house is very clean and minimal in decor, but still had everything we needed. Andy included some nice extras that made our stay very comfortable, including lots of towels and a well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed watching ducks and planes on the lake, and even saw a moose and her calf wander through the driveway! Perfect little getaway for our foursome. Thanks so much!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. As a family that enjoys hanging out, cooking in and playing games it was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to prepare any type of meal with lots of spices and condiments available. We enjoyed watching the planes take off and land all week. Would highly recomend for a relaxing and peaceful retreat!

This is a lovely rental home, with lake views and access, plus a hot tub, good sound system/electronics and super comfortable beds. Kitchen is well stocked. We would have spent more time in it but we also wanted to explore Talkeetna. Communication with Andy was great.

The property was fantastic. We arrived slightly early and met Andy at the location. The house is beautiful and looks out over a lake. We used the canoe and paddleboards on the lake and we enjoyed watching the seaplanes taking off and landing on the far side of the lake. The hot tub was great in the evenings after our day trips around the area. The house had a very nice modern kitchen and a great entertainment system for movies at night. Andy had a book to explain how to work everything and he also provided a cell phone number if we needed anything, but everything was perfect. Andy even had coffee, breakfast bars and a nice bottle of wine setup at the house when we arrived. We rented three different houses during our time in Alaska and this house was definitely the nicest property. We will be back to this location again.

Spent a lovely long weekend on the lake before kids head back to school. Worked a couple days on internet from the kitchen table with peaceful views. Property is at the end of the lake but you can paddle a few minutes to public use dock for swimming. Enjoying watching float planes landing out the windows too. Beautiful spot and we’ll be looking to come back to try it out in the winter!

My wife and I wanted something special for our 25th wedding anniversary. While planning a trip to Alaska was part of it, we also wanted to stay somewhere special - and this property had it all. The location was ideal for our trips to Denali (as a side note we visited the park a couple of times and saw some great wildlife but you cannot see the mountain from the park. You get better views from downtown Talkeetna - when the weather cooperates!). But the best part was coming back to the beautiful home after a long day of exploring. Unwinding in the hot tub, relaxing on the deck listening to nature, or just staring out the window during breakfast was the tranquility we needed. A highlight was taking the canoe out on the water to watch the planes take-off/land. And communication/working with the owner couldn’t have been easier. Andy was communicative, flexible, and really went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. And we thoroughly did. Having this wonderful place to come back to after long days was just what we needed!

Our stay at Andy’s place was absolutely wonderful! It’s super clean, smells good, and the location is superb. Even though there are other cabins on the lake, none of them are within view of the cabin which makes it perfect for a little secluded getaway. We were even able to watch a bald eagle that flew right over our heads and perched high in a tree right above while we were enjoying the hot tub. Overall, a fantastic experience!

We stayed at the house over the weekend and had a blast! Owner was very quick to respond and such a nice guy. Pros: insanely comfortable pillows & mattress, plenty of towels, private property, hot tub, and ability to connect your music to speakers. Cons: Wish there were stairs to hot tub or have it be located on deck. Wish we could have used the fire chimney inside. If you’re contracting out the cleaning, ask them to do deep cleans on areas like the fan. Overall, pleased with the stay and would recommend!

We fell in love with the secluded lake house and the private hot tub, but the planes and the moose pushed it over the top to amazing. We had a momma moose and her baby walk by us (20 feet) while we sat in the hot tub. They ended up bedding down outside of our bedroom window and got to drink coffee and watch the little one run around and eat while mom watched and slept. The sound of the planes powering up to liftoff is something I will not forget and will miss. Would recommend to anyone headed to Talkeetna! Quick drive to downtown but far enough away from ALL the people. We look forward to coming back and bringing friends and family to share the experiences.

The property owner was extremely accommodating and helpful. The location and home are beautiful and clean. It couldn’t have been a better stay.

This was the perfect place for a quiet Alaskan setting. It's close to a cute little town and a grocery store nearby. Not much reason to leave the house though. It really has everything you need. We enjoyed the hot tub, went out on the lake in the canoe, watched planes land and had a fire to make some s'mores. Everything is very clean and nicely decorated. This really is the perfect spot!

Probably a top-5 nicest place I've stayed in while travelling. Everything is topnotch: tv, sound system, coffee maker, fridge, dishwasher, oven, bathroom. Loft space and 2 bedrooms perfect for 3 dudes, or 3 couples. All kinds of utensils and spices and food/drink for those looking to cook some fresh catches. Host is incredibly responsive and helpful (also comes with fishing spots advice...he gave us a spot with kings and another TEEMING with pinks and rainbows). Even has multiple watercraft and a hot tub for use! Location is very secluded and beautiful. Wifi strong too.

This is a really great rental. Highly recommend this property. Great home. Great amenities. Beautiful and clean. I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed in this rental. Superior host. Very accommodating, personable, available. You don't have to go through some property management 3rd person to ask a question. The owner reached out a few times prior to the stay to see if we had any concerns or questions and made it clear we could call, email or text him for any reason. We had not a single issue but it was nice to know he was available, if need be. Talkeetna is a very small town and we had the chance to meet the owner and he is a genuinely nice guy. We like to rent from individual locals rather than property managers or multi-unit owners. If you want an Alaskan experience without it being too rustic...this is the place for you. There are lots of log cabins available in the area from quaint to primitive but they are not for everyone. There are no neighbors in site, just trees, lake, dock, wilderness. With this house you get rustic Alaska...but also black stainless steel appliances, luxury shower and a Sonos sound system. It's Alaska with style. Specifics: The home is about 3.8 miles from downtown Talkeetna via road or bike. It is very private. It is located at the end of a float plain lake so we got to see float planes flying. [The owners Father offers float plane flights]. Don’t worry - the planes are not noisy. The house has an aviation theme, soothing grey walls & calming, uncrowded aesthetic; Wonderful double head shower with pebble floor [no tub]; No cable or satellite TV but Apple TV, wi-fi, DVD’s, games and books; Fully stocked kitchen and deck with BBQ grill and fire pit. The bathroom is nicely stocked with toiletries. A hot tub sits on the edge of the lake and has operating instructions attached [nice touch]. There are paddle boards, a canoe, outdoor picnic table, and oar powered pontoon boat available. The house offers a generous supply of towels, throws and blankets. The living room and both bedrooms have a ceiling fan. Every room had at least one electrical outlet with USB ports. There are 2 non-intrusive security cameras on the property: one pointed toward the dock and the other showing the entry to the property. Neither camera is pointed at living areas, the hot tub or deck. There are no indoor cameras. There are no scary property management signs threatening fines if you flush the toilet wrong.

We had an amazing weekend at Andy's place. He was very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. Lovely location on a lake and the house was clean and comfortable. We will be back!
