We loved everything about this little house, perfect location, great layout, super kitchen, nice appliances. We are totally looking forward to coming back real soon.

This is house is a very special place. All the details that Kathy and her family poured into it doesn’t go unnoticed. The street Myron’s place is on is our favorite. We look forward to returning every year!

We traveled to Ocracoke following our wedding in Beaufort for a short “familymoon” - as we brought along our 1yo daughter. The island was the perfect spot for such an occasion, as it lends itself well to the desired slower-paced moments we craved. It was beautiful and as relaxing as it can get with a 1yo!
The home itself was very clean, very comfortable, and filled with beautiful history. We loved the location on Howard Street, close to town and everything you need. There is construction going on next door with a renovation, but our baby slept through the noise. That’s all you can ask for!
We look forward to another October trip when our daughter is a bit older and would definitely stay at this lovely property again.

This property was just right for our family of 5, with a 13 year old son & adult daughters. The kitchen had what we needed to cook the meals we had prepared ahead & to dine comfortably. With its historic charm, ship lap & bead board details we were all comfortable & content in this house. The large porch got much use during our stay as well!

We loved the house, so well done! All you needed was available and the house is conveniently located. The neighborhood had a quirky charm and history that we greatly appreciated. We couldn’t be happier with our stay and time in Ocracoke made even more special with this charming cottage.

The history of the house is told through out with information, and decor. Very comfortable stay.
Loved the porch and outside shower!!!
The location is on an historic street, very well known on the island. We enjoyed ghost walk, golf cart riding, lighthouse, Springers point, just to mention a few activities. Would definitely recommend and plan to visit again.

We spent a long weekend on Ocracoke (4 adults, 2 three year old boys) and had a wonderful time! The house is small but we didn't need much space, just somewhere to regroup between activities on the island. The outdoor shower was AMAZING, I don't think anyone used the indoor shower during our trip. Super close to everything Ocracoke has to offer, other than the beach we either walked or biked everywhere. There was plenty of space under the porch to keep four bikes and a kid's bike trailer. We didn't cook but the kitchen was well stocked for breakfast cereal and making sandwiches for the beach. Having a washer and dryer was great for cleaning up towels and messy kid's clothes. There are a lot of stairs going up to the house, so might not be a great choice if you've got mobility issues. For our group it was perfect and we will be back!

The owner was accommodating, and the check-in was very convenient. The location is nice, well within walking distance of sights, seafood, and ice cream. It's just a short drive to the beach.

We have been going to Ocracoke for 20 years now, usually with a large group of 10 or more, this trip was just a trip from my three daughters and myself and this was the perfect home. The home was very charming, great location on the island, and super clean. This home had everything we needed and more !!!

This is a fantastic property, walking distance to everything in "downtown" Ocracoke. The house was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Kathy was very responsive prior to our stay, as we had never been to the area before. I would definitely rent again.

Staying on Howard St is just a simply majestic experience, let alone in house built for Captain Garrish, whose tombstone is but an oyster’s throw away. The accommodations are of a high-level with nods to the history of not only the island but of it’s people. The location was superb, just a short walk away from Village Craftsmen, Zillie’s, Diajo’s, Annabelles’ Antiques, etc. If you are looking for a place to detox from the modern pace of life and drink deep in the sights, sounds, and sensations of Ocracoke, than look no further - this is your destination.

My family absolutely loved Myron’s Place. It is even more beautiful than the pictures depict. The decor is very nice, everything was clean, the location is perfect - in the heart of the village but tucked away on a quiet street. The front porch was my favorite spot. The comfy beds were a close second. The owner went above and beyond when we needed help with a scheduling issue, and we owe her many thanks. You can tell that Myron’s Place is loved, and the owners put a lot of thought into its restoration. We definitely plan to come back. This was by far the most relaxing vacation we’ve ever had.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for a family. You are within walking distance to a lot of the island, including a bunch of restaurants. Comfortable outside porch and an awesome outside shower. We would definitely come back.

An old friend and I stayed at Myron's Place for a few days of catching up and exploring the island, and it was delightful. The home has been restored with great care and beauty -- the blue-washed, vaulted ceilings are like a soft summer sky, the sweet stained-glass windows and the art are perfect, the furniture is substantial and comfortable, and the beds are heavenly. One of my favorite features: the on-demand water heater, which means you will never have a cold shower. The front porch is gracious and spacious, and a sweet black cat often comes to visit there. Perfect for chatting and watching a bit of island life go by. Kudos to the owners for creating and sharing such a lovely refuge!

All information from the owner was easy to understand. The house was amazing! This was our 3rd year in a row coming to Ocracoke and this was by far the best place we have stayed. The house has an amazing history that you can find all about with the books that are in the home.

The property was very nice with a neat historical theme to it. The detail was everywhere. It is located in a quiet area within a short walk to almost everything on the island.
We look forward to returning someday!

This was our third visit to Myron’s, after staying at Kathy’s other Ocracoke home (Elsie’s). It has always been just what we needed to get away to a quiet island from the usual hustle and bustle
It’s a comfortable and clean home, has all the amenities, including the outdoor shower (which might be my favorite ever!). As long as we are able we will be coming back to stay! It’s become a part of our family’s story. Thank you, Kathy!

Myron's Place is absolute perfection! The hosts have done a phenomenal job with giving new life to the home and didn't miss any detail. From the small stained glass windows with the Ocracoke light house and ship sailing at sea to creating a book telling the story of the home as well as theirs. To me it's the little things that make a stay one that i'll forever remember. The home was spotless, the bed was cozy, the location was perfect, and the overall basics were covered completely. But the local books, the scotch bonnet by the sink, the family photos from the original home owners, and opening the drawer and finding Blue Willow dishes in the kitchen, and sitting on the porch swing every evening with the one of the neighborhood Ocracats at my side. I never fed him - but I sure did pet him and he certainly gave me some quiet soul food as I took in my solo time on the island. It was truly the perfect retreat and I do hope to stay at the home on my future visits to Ocracoke. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Very nice, very clean. Off the main road and very quiet. The only suggestion would be, replace the back door lock. It is a little difficult to operate.
I look forward to staying there again.

After a week of Turkey and Family it was time to decompress. Our stay at Myron's Place was just what the doctor ordered!! Communication was prompt. Property clean and well appointed. We walked everywhere, 1718 Pub, British Cemetery, NPS, Ferry landing, MoonRaker Tea Shop, etc. Hope to return. Many thanks from: Terry & Carolyn (Pennsylvania) Neal & Lynn (NY)

Myron’s place is beautiful! More than we expected. There’s so much history, and love, evident. Minutes from everything, and the history of the street it sits on is pretty interesting too.

We travel to the island for vacation every year. This year we procrastinated in selecting a home and when we did it was slim pickings. This home came available last minute due to a cancellation and we snatched it up. This home is what staying on the island is about! Historical, beautifully renovated home, awesome location and very comfortable. For our size family it was a little small but we knew that so we’re not disappointed in any way. The owner was great with communication and our stay went flawlessly. One of our favorite stays ever!

Perfect house to rent for my family’s vacation on Ocracoke. We are a family of 4 with 2 adult children. Nicely decorated and comfortable with everything we needed. Location is perfect on Howard St. We ended every day by sitting on the front porch and talking. We hope to return and stay in this great house!

Amazing location, porch, and more!
We've been coming to Ocracoke for years and this was our favorite place yet! The decor in the house is very well thought out and the attention to detail is amazing. When we were at the house, the majority of our time was spent on the front porch. It seemed to always be shaded and pick up a nice breeze blowing down Howard St. The outdoor shower was also one of the best features as well. We can't wait to come back!

What a perfect place to bliss out on peaceful Ocracoke! The completely renovated cottage was just right for us and two adult “kids.” Comfortable beds, GREAT kitchen, the a/c works (yay!), lazy front porch, 1 1/2 baths (double yay!), washer/dryer, and a huge outdoor shower that will convert anyone who thinks they’re silly. The layout is great, with privacy where needed and a great open kitchen/ dining area/ living room.
Sleepy Howard Street (a sandy oyster-shelled lane), soaked in history, is away from what passes for traffic on the island, but you can walk anywhere in minutes. Even better, use bikes or a rented golf cart. I had almost forgotten what quiet “sounds” like.
Be sure to buy incredibly fresh seafood at the Ocracoke Seafood Company, caught by local fishermen and -women. Their open days can vary depending on the weather - that’s what “fresh” really means!
We’ll be back!

We had a great time during our stay! The location, decor, amenities were awesome. Walking distance to the village, we took advantage and strolled to several restaurants and shops. We fished off the beach, hung out on the porch, and cooked meals in the kitchen. It was nice to have extra space for our toddler to sleep and play. We would definitely stay again and recommend this place for anyone.

The pictures and description only begin to describe this awesome place to stay. Rooted in history and brought back to life with all the touches, this house will delight anyone. Can’t wait to come back.

We loved Myron's Place and it is perfect for small groups and you can walk to everything in the village.
- Very clean, comfortable, and high-end appliances not usually seen in rentals
- Kitchen well equipped with gas stove and extras like a Lodge cast iron skillet and a coffee grinder
- Outdoor shower was amazing & spent most of our time on the great front porch
- Attention to detail -- historic touches and a nice book to explain the history.
Highly recommend!
