The location in central nozawa onsen village was perfect to wander, eat, go to public onsens and shop. The elderly couple speak only basic English but enough to help you adequately. The room was spacious n the beds very comfortable. The doona lovely. Very good heater in room. Small basic ensuite but used the private onsen each day and thoroughly enjoyed it. The breakfast was Japanese style and lovely. The adjoining lounge area was simple but a great spot for our group of 9 to chill after skiing and having an onsen. The owners were very accommodating for us to have takeout dinner there when we arrived as we couldn’t get a booking for such a large group. The discounted lift tix and the location of the discounted ski rental at nagasaka gondola was perfect as we could leave our equipment there.

The central location meant we had a 15-20 min walk to nagasaka gondola each morning but it got easier and we were able to leave our skis at the rental shop. We were on the top floor which was 34 steps from the dining room (but who’s counting!) and excellent to strengthen quads each day! Made you make sure you had everything before heading out. I think we were the furthest from the wifi (room 23) so signal was poor. Everyone else in our group had no issues.

The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming and I very much enjoyed my stay.

Rooms are fairly basic, but met my needs.

Can’t beat the location - right next door to Oyu Onsen and the restaurant hub, and the Yu road. And a welcome genuine Japanese experience, so different to other places I stayed.
