We were able to rent this cottage on short notice due to an unexpected funeral in Fairhope. Appreciated Vivian's (property manager) helpfulness. When the bathroom faucet exploded, she was very prompt in getting it replaced. Really liked the private out-of-the-way location although GPS had trouble locating the correct way to get there.

Our stay at this rustic cottage was nice and relaxing. It’s location is ideal as it’s off the beaten path, close to the waterfront of Mobile Bay, great restaurants, and downtown Fairhope.

We have stayed at Porch Lane now 4 times. The location in Point Clear for a couple is ideal. The amenities are good, but the convertible sofa and chairs in the sitting area keep it from being excellent. They should be updated, since the cost has increased each time we stayed for a week. The add on fees for cleaning, admin and credit card charges plus taxes have made this less than the good deal this was just 3 years ago.

It was great. Good location, clean, good size, well stocked kitchen. The screened back porch was excellent! A great place to spend a rainy day reading! Two things I would suggest:1. Add more lights in the living room, with such dark walls the room is very dark.2. Fix the deadbolt lock on the back screened in back porch, most of the time I couldn't get the door locked. When I arrived Wednesday after the dead bolt was not locked

Finding the property was a challenge, especially in the dark and the listing does not provide any help in locating and typing the address in Google leads down the wrong road, otherwise house was clean and nice.

Our stay here was wonderful. The cabin was well kept and beautiful on the inside. Nice and quiet area. Exactly what we were looking for on this trip (5 nights in August). However, we did have to concerns. As soon as we arrived to cabin on the first afternoon, we noticed that the deadbolt to porch from bedroom did not lock. We called to report it but nobody came during our visit to repair. Another thing, we loved the seclusion of the cabin but there needs to be gravel put down in area for parking. It did rain on and off on our trip. This made for a lot of mess on car and shoes. So, I highly suggest that if you notice rain in the forecast for your trip that you do not drive a car that sits low to ground like we did (mustang). Should’ve drive Jeep like originally planned.

We spent time shopping and dining in Fairhope, took two trips to the beaches at Gulf Shores, enjoyed two fishing charters with Reel Gypsy Fishing from Fort Morgan, took a day trip to Dauphin Island to shop, dine and swim at the beaches there. The cottage was rustic, but well maintained and clean with comfortable furnishings. We had great communication with the property managers throughout the entire process from beginning to end. The dollar value for that area was excellent. Thank you, Gulf 2 Beach and VRBO, for helping to make our stay a memorable one.

Overall it was a good stay! But future renters should know that the shower handle is broken and you can't control the water temperature. You should also know that there is a nice firepit in the back which along with the location was the redeeming factor. The grill listed turned out to be a tiny little thing sitting on the front porch. The owner did personally replace the broken coffeemaker. I probably won't use VRBO or Gulf2Beach again.

Neat place in the woods just across the street for Mobile Bay. Secluded, but in a nice neighborhood. A short drive to Foley, Mobile and the gulf. Reasonably priced.
It’s rustic and meant to be that way. Not a 5 star suite, but we aren’t looking for that either. Had all the amenities of home.
My kid loved the fire pit and outdoor shower!
Would definitely stay there again.

This is a great location. Very secluded with excellent food within five minutes. Great sea food at Fish River Grill. The beautiful Mobile Bay is easily accessible from a public pier and beach very close. For these reasons we liked this location. However this house was pretty run down. Duck tape holding the back screened in porch together. The faucet in the shower was jigged together and almost unworkable. I had to make it work for my wife. No cold water in bathroom sink only hot. TV and cable in bedroom not working. I can’t imagine 4 people staying here. The room was fine for two of us. Furniture very run down and uncomfortable. Hard to say if we would stay here again. Probably not due to the condition of property in spite of the good location.
