Super friendly family hosting us. Very warm welcome, nice and calm location in the jungle. Sunrise is very nice to see from the balkony. The breakfast is delicious and more than you can finish. We had dinner once, which was also very tasty. Mosquito nets available. Its a nature cottage, with some minor always-open parts, so there might be some insects also inside. Don't confuse the very good rating with a 5* hotel. That's not what is being promoted :)

The place is up the hill so you have to take a tuk tuk from Ella city center. Nevertheless, it has a very nice view and you can practice morning yoga on the terrace as it is covered with a roof and enjoy a breakfast. The hosts are nice people. This place is very affordable so even though the reviews are high, you cannot expect a luxury or anything like that. We were there for two nights and it was ok. I would not recommend it for a longer period.

The shower properties - taps and shower head are broken - there is a way how to turn water on, it just needs some technique. It definitely needs a repair. The toilet sometimes does not flush properly.There is a smell from a shower drain, especially after the rain. Also bed sheets are too short, I would recommend getting bigger onew as they tend slip when you sleep so you wake up lying right on a mattrace without any sheet.

We spent two nights at the cottage after our wedding.... We selected this place as results of almost positive reviews in the web when comparing other hotels in Ella. As reviews it was very clean, quite and beautiful place... Best thing is cleanliness. Privacy was more than expected. Also hospitality of owners are appreciable. We got delicious meals also.. We'll come again. . ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Its up on the hill a ways. I Definitely suggest having your own transportation. Unless you want to pay for tuktuks.

About the accommodation: This is a separate part of the house with the private entrance and the fantastic balcony with the Mountain View. In the room you can find all the necessary equipment including plates, cups and towels. everything is really clean and fresh. And is you are a long stayer, you will be offered to have a cleaning of the room during your stay. About the family: the house is owned by the amazing family who are really helpful and kind. We loved there on the Sinhalese New Year and we were invited to have a traditional morning festive breakfast in their house with the family for free. Any kind of your questions and problems you can address to them and you will always receive the help or answer. For example we found at the very end that we might have had a help with Tuk tuk from our host’s relative. Don’t repeat our mistakes, if you need a transfer or a short tuk tuk excursion to the Lipton Seat and Waterfalls (highly recommend) just ask the host. it will be cheaper then just to ask a driver on the street. About the food: we have breakfast included and we bought the dinner additionally. it’s really cheaper than in the nearest cafe. And there are no many cafes nearby, so we recommend to buy dinners too. Meals always were served on time, there were lots of food. And everything were home made, traditional and really tasty. we never could eat everything, that were served. when we have a track to the Ella Rock we were offered to have additional food with us in a special packed. You will never be hungry. I put on at least 1 kilo. The view and the balcony: the view is the main point of this place. You will have the amazing view on the Ella Rock and the other mountains. To watch the fast changing of the weather form the rain to sunny and back form there is the best experience ever. You will loving it definitely.

The place is two km upper than Ella, so you should walk 20 minutes to the shops and restraints there. Or you can take tuk tuk, it takes 5 minutes to drive to Ella. if you have a bike, it won’t be a problem for you. but form the house you can easily reach the Ella Rock and Little Adams peak by foot. if you need some pizza and don’t want to drive or to walk you can order it from the restaurant in Whatsup and receive it 30 minutes later.
