Very nice. Perfect for the family hunting trip

This place felt like walking into an old family home. Everything about it was welcoming. More charm here than can be explained if you just slow down to take it all in. We needed a place to stay after my son’s football game and I wish we had stayed longer! We will be back!

We enjoyed our overnighter to see the Alabama game.

We’ve stayed in the property 3 times now and have a h time was great. Clean, very friendly owners and comfortable beds. We didn’t need anything fancy, just a clean safe place to sleep and that’s exactly what it was! We will be back again soon when visiting our kids at Bama.

We were here for our wedding. Had a nice stay. Love the pet ducks. She laid eggs at the picnic table while we were there

This house was a perfect alternative to a hotel for us. We were just traveling through the area with trailers and bikes and didn’t want to stay at a hotel. The accommodations were exactly as listed. We will stay here again if we are back in the area.

Was about what we expected from the photos and descriptions. We thought it was on the lake, but the kids didn’t mind the short hike. The boys loved it and the 9 year old wanted to take the taxidermy home with us - the coyote and raccoon were her favorites. Lol

Great property, clean and comfortably slept 10 people. Manager was great with communication.

We arrived at this house couldn’t see what the exact address was. It was very late at night more like early morning 1 AM. We compare the pictures on the website with some of the features in the home so we knew we were at the right place. This place was a House of horrors, my family was too scared to stay there. The bedrooms were dirty and the linens bedspread was filthy. The windows in the bunk bedroom were broken and the screens were ripped! The paneling on the walls were bowed out, the furniture in the whole house was dirty and dusty! The living room couch was stained so much you wouldn’t wanna sit on it, in the floor in the living room sink down in one spot in the middle. The French doors were unlocked, and the lock did not work! After trying to put a chair wedged under the door knob and it didn’t work we decided to leave! The whole house is filled with taxidermy stuffed animals, and disgustingly filthy. Short closets throughout the house nailed shut! Never saw the washer or dryer.
Even the neighborhood looked rundown. Is this some kind of a Halloween joke!!! This guy must’ve paid people or family members to write good reviews because there was nothing good about this house. I am going to fight for my money back! VRBO needs to look into this mess!

We were in town for a football game, this property was perfect for our group and just a short trip from Tuscaloosa. The owner was super responsive and everything was great, will stay again!

We stayed here overnight on our way to the beach. Very clean and comfortable. Owner is also very helpful. My son left his laptop there. They found it and offered to ship to our house for us.

Found this place for us to stay while my daughter attended a camp at the University of Alabama. It was about a 20 minute drive and worth it! This home had so much character, charm, and nostalgia. It reminded me of my Grandmother & Papa's home. I absolutely loved the quiet & peacefulness during the day while my daughter was off at camp. In the evening we went exploring down the trail to the pond, which was a nice walk down the path and to the left. Take some bugspray with you for that if you want to hangout down there. Daniel's communication was always prompt. If we are ever in the area would definitely stay again!

What a wonderful property. There is no doubt that the lodge is a "handyman's special" but that truly added to the country charm. The house was built in the 1930s, so certainly could use repairs, but it's an old home. There was absolutely nothing that interfered with our being comfortable. The property is beautiful. The interior of the home was CLEAN (so clean!), comfy, cozy, and extremely welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances. Daniel was a very generous host. Being able to bring pets is super helpful! I could certainly see the Lodge being a great location for a party/get together, but we really enjoyed staying the week. We will be staying here again.

Very nice quiet place in the country with good access to the interstate. Easy to communicate with the owner. And was stocked with everything we needed. Space for the children was a big plus. With a nice kitchen. I would definitely stay there again.

I was in town working with 3 of my guys. This place was fine for staying for work. However, if I was on a family vacation I wouldn't have been happy. It needs a lot of finish work and smells like smoke in the living room from the chimney.

Daniel has a very nice place. We liked the quiet secludedness of the property. It has plenty of room for several adults, and several children. The kitchen is fully furnished and large enough to cook for all the people the property can house. Daniel was very attentive, and made sure we were satisfied with our stay. There was wi-fi, and a tv in every room. The beds were comfortable. We will try to stay here again, if we are ever in the area again. Thanks.

When we pulled up to the house we are all shocked at what we saw. It did not look like the picture on the website! All of us were actually creeped out at the site. There was no lake in view of the property and the house was not well kept. They had their dogs in a fenced in area right outside the house that were continuously barking. Nobody wanted to even get out of the car, but I decided to go in and try to make the best of it and everyone followed. Walking in there was a strong smell of urine. As we walked around the floors sloped and some parts felt like I might fall through. There was insulation coming out at the bottom of some walls. There weren't any covering on the windows (Even in the bathroom) except for 2 bedrooms. When we asked about the lake on the property they told us that we could walk through the woods or drive his truck there because our car wouldn't make it. There were weapons in the home and we had minor children with us on the trip. The front door wouldn't stay shut without the bolt lock. The back door barely shut as well. To charge over $800 for 5 days at that house is unreal. Anyone would expect to have a clean home free of odors at a minimum. We tried to stay there since the payment had already cleared, but didn't even last an hour. So we all packed into one hotel room during the time that we were suppose to stay there. It was an inconvenience to and loss of money to our families. We are requesting a full refund because the owner was not honest about the home at all! We have photos and a video of the barking dogs in the kennel beside the house. Please help us recover the money!
