Peaceful pool area - due to no children policy. Exceptionally helpful and courteous staff from reception to dining room and including housekeeping.

It would have been nice to have tissues and body lotion included in the vanity products in the bathroom.

1... but, they leaked out my email address to 3rd parties, and started to bombing me with spam. I asked them to delete my personal data from their database, but the "Data Protection Officer / Barceló Hotel Group" asked for even more of my personal data. 2... but, the milk was spoiled (tree times at the breakfast) 3....but, noisy. 4....but, Unfortunately due to aggressive advertisement, the leaked personal data, and the reaction of Data Protection officer, I can not give better feedback. I will avoid the entire Barceló Hotel Group.

great service, very kind employees, big comfortable room, all clean and in very good shape and conditions. nice place for breakfast, possible to eat outside as well. very good location in "hotel area" in Funchal. i can just recommend this place.

breakfast offer was very tasty and nice, but they could just make it even more better by bit different offer during the week.

Adult only policy was the big pull to this hotel as we wanted a quiet and relaxing base to explore the island from. The location is very good for Funchal, about a 20-30 min walk, restaurants and the seafront. The food was nice, a great selection at breakfast and the same on the two nights we had the buffet dinner. Our room was very comfortable with everything we wanted and more. The staff are all wonderful and really make the hotel stand out.

The carpark was on the small side but handy all the same as we'd rented a car. It can be noisy at night with a local bar playing music but it didn't go on until very late.

The people at the reception weren’t always that friendly. There are very few young people at the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay very much and will be back. Stayed in a double room with a sea view - in February 2023. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful - provided leaflets and useful advice whenever needed. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious and there was plenty to choose from, with hot and cold options. The room was very clean and spacious and had the best shower. Bed and pillows were comfortable. When slightly chilly, air conditioning was great. Only issue might be that there was no closet to put away clothes, just a rack above the table with some hangers. Location was good - 10 minutes by bus to Funchal city centre, bus stop directly above the hotel. Worth buying a 5/7 day Travelcard from the city centre offices. Airport shuttle bus (Aerobus) also stops directly above the hotel. 30-40 minutes walking distance to Funchal city centre. Good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. Some tour/excursion agents nearby too whom we used. 5 minute walk downhill to the sea. Red and Yellow sightseeing tour bus stops are also directly above the hotel. 11th floor had the open rooftop area with great views of Funchal and surrounding hills - looks amazing at night. Clean hotel, (don’t judge its appearance from the outside). Had pool and gym facilities. Overall our stay was very pleasant. Many thanks :)

didn’t appear to be fully staffed in Wellness Spa . the staff had double duty , but the Asst Mgr explained. they made us very comfortable

Very expensive for the room considering it was quite basic.

music at dinner was too loud and not appropriate for fine dining. The meal was fabulous however. Vocals and loud music were fine at the fireworks at the end of the everning.

the location was ok, we had a room with sea view and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset. in the morning we could see the ocean from bed. bus stop is close, including the bus that goes to the airport. nearby there are many agencies that organize daily trips to the island with departure close to the hotel. close to many restaurants, bars and supermarkets. very kind staff, they helped us with a taxi early in the morning on the day of departure and they also gave us a packed breakfast (sandwiches, fruits, something sweet, water and juices). if we were to return to Madeira, for sure we would choose this hotel again.

location was great, it was clean and good breakfast. rooftop bar was good, unfortunately winter schedule had started so no live music while we were there :-(

It was clean, smelt good. The staff were so polite and friendly. Hotel offered leaflets to aid with sight seeing. The food was tasty! The location was so ideal! I loved it all! I will deffo return!

I prefer slightly larger rooms and higher floor but everything was great at his hotel. I will be happy to stay here again :)
