Interesting historical hotel

Gave us an inferior room with a wall in front of the window instead of a superior room with a view of the courtyard. Broken bed sloped off so I kept sliding towards the floor. Air conditioning wasn’t working. Coffee maker didn’t work. Didn’t sleep all night. Rude clerk at check in.

Absolutely amazing hotel with highly professional and very attentive staff!! Breakfast is one if the best I ever had in hotels ) loved it! You really feel there as in the Royal palace ❤️

Location and staff were great

This was our first stay here and I had booked a Junior Suite. the room was fantastic with a balcony, very large and beautifully decorated. The highlight however was the Bed. The best I have ever slept in. incredible. Breakfast was really nice and the whole experience was great Would love to know what mattress and topper we slept on, would definitely look to buy one for home

It's a bit of a walk to the old town (about 15 mins) which is where we have stayed in the past. That said the hotel is right outside the metro so fine for getting around. No parking at the hotel which means you need to either find a parking space and walk or pay the 29 euro for the hotel to valet park your car.

Great central location. Male staff were polite and friendly. Not great communication when plumbing issues occurred.

Our room was without water for several hours, no explanation from the front desk and when we asked if we could use a bathroom were told sorry it would be fixed in an hour -for five hours.. We eventually were moved to a room with water and a flushing toilet. We expected better.

The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice, maybe could benefit from a little more choice. The hotel was in a really great location, easily accessible to everywhere in the city.

The Royal is a training hotel, and shares the site with a Paul Bocuse training institute. It is not obvious at street level where the front door of the hotel is - and whether it is in fact a hotel. (The door faces the square and is about 15 metres from the corner).

A not large but luxuous place, right in the centre, an ideal base to walk the city. We enjoyed the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Good breakfast to take without hesitation. Rooms comfortable and silencious.

The classy, cozy and stylish feel of the hotel. The location and the staff. The Red bar lounge. The views on Place Bellecour. Great place to stay while in Lyon.

I booked a Courtyard view room, instead of a courtyard it was a wall. Quite deceiving and disappointing. These rooms should not be advertised as Courtyards.
