I ate in the hotel restaurant every night of my stay and was very happy with the quality of the food and the attentive service of Liz.

I was happy with everything. Room great, views from the restaurant gorgeous.

Location was very good , as a lone traveler it was very convenient to have the hotel over the road on the lake serving wholesome food, the pier was a stone throw away making access to tour the lakes easy. A short walk into Ambleside, a delightful village, and bus stops to access other villages was so convenient.

The pillows on the bed I found too hard.

The location was brilliant We had a room with a balcony the room was huge. Super clean. Bed so comfortable. Really lovely breakfast cooked fresh, which meant you might have to wait, but it wasn't a problem and meant everything was fresh and not dried up. Staff friendly and helpful There is building work going on but it didn't cause any problems.

The only thing is the setup for breakfast (maybe if the toaster could be repositioned ) and maybe set a bit higher was only just toasted.

Lake 'view' from suite wasnt the best - mostly obstructed by a tee-pee and scaffolding - Room itself was fine.

The hotel was clean and very comfortable with friendly helpful staff, good food and parking close by. It is situated in a great location close to Lake Windermere with good views over the Lake.

There was nothing that I disliked about the property.

Breakfast was poor, buffet style cold with basic items not topped up without asking the staff who could it be found. Evening meals limited and they had shortages ie no saliva or Pizza Staff never about when needed

The location was absolutely fantastic and the staff are really friendly. Plenty of parking and a 2min walk to get to the pier and there are lovely places to sit and just look over the lake but you can also do this at the hotel. The food, staff, room and grounds are perfect for the dogs and such a relaxing place to stay, we will definitely be back. 😁

There wasn't one thing we didn't like about the wateredge inn, everything was perfect. (Even the weather) ☀️

Great location on the side of the lake - fantastic views - good local facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful as the hotel had just opened after refurbishment, and they were trying to get everything up and running for visitors.

We booked a garden room, however building work was still going on, the noise was quite loud during the day as there was a generator running outside our room, and lots of workmen around.

The room was very small, poor value for money, won't be going again.

The food

It's the smallest room I've ever stayed in. My head literally touched the ceiling

The Breakfast was good, The Room was spacious and clean, The Location was perfect, we would recommend it to anyone

Not sure if room was above kitchen ,but was too warm during the night even with window open ,considering the weather was nice but not overly warm for September

Location over looking Lake Windermere - stunning.. sharing a drink on the lawns beautiful.. Ambleside very pretty. Staff friendly and efficient. They coped well with the number of people.

We were there during holiday time and it was a very popular - the hotel and location in general. We didn't mind that - but go in a quieter time to experience the hotel and pretty Ambleside if you aren't into lots of people. - A jolly holiday experience

The lakeside location is great and the family room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Very convenient for lake activities and just a short walk into town. Windows at the rear of the room face the road but it's not noisy at night so not a problem. Decent shower was very welcome after a stint camping!

It's a shame they don't make more of the outdoor space in the evening, there's no lighting at all so people just sit there in there dark! The food is chain pub fayre so I wasn't expecting much but they were all out of my top 2 choices on the menu for dinner, which is annoying. Full English at brekkie was not up to scratch to be honest. I've had worse but come on, you should be able to nail a full English! Few flies buzzing around the kitchen/coffee area, too, which is off putting. Barman won't move but instead stands behind his till and shouts 'WHO'S NEXT!' prompting people to form a queue at the bar - this is not the way it should be done! Apparently they will close for a refurb in October, there are many many other places to stay but I might consider it post refurb, more likely I would just stop for an afternoon beer. They need to work on improving the food and being a decent pub - seems more important to me than a lick of paint.
