We've loved everything about our stay in this place. Even before arriving we had good contact with the owner concerning our stay. Owner picked us up from the station and dropped at the entrance to Jigokudani Monkey Park so we could visit it before check in time, while he took care of our luggage. After we've checked in we were able to use onsen few times during our stay. Ryokan itself is a beautiful place in a traditional Japanese style. It was very well maintained and clean. Our room was spacious and comfortable. In the evening we've enjoyed kaiseki dinner - we had to order it in advance, and we highly recommend to not skip it as it was delicious and worth every penny. In the morning owner drove us back to the trains station so we could continue our journey. We highly recommend it and would love to come again for another stay.

My first impression was good, not great. I had forgotten that my reservation was for a room without a private toilet. Very inconvenient! And I made a reservation without meals - another mistake of mine. The owner, a very nice lady from the Showa era, offered to drive me to a sushi restaurant for the first night. She was so kind and helpful. The tatami floor has an unusual design. The room is spacious. It feels as if you are transported to the best times of the Showa era. When the second night arrived and dinner was served, I realized why Yasuragi has received such rave reviews. The meal was beautifully presented and truly delicious. The next was equally wonderful. I have been busy recommending this place to my Japanese friends.

Although the town is small, it is a bit of a walk. The convenience store next door is very convenient. This ryokan offers free transportation from and to the station. In my case, I got a ride to the next town which is famous for many little onsen places.

The dinner was fantastic experience. We had a large room and onsen was fun. The owners are a delight We had a car and were able to get up early to the snow monkeys which is the best time to see them.

An exceptional experience from start to finish. This beautiful Ryokan was immaculately clean, the hosts were so warm and caring and really went above and beyond to look after us throughout our entire stay. They were so kind and so helpful. The food was superb with very generous amounts and lots of variety. The private onsen on site is divine!! I don't know how I'll live without it! It was amazing to spend some time unwinding in such a lovely setting. Our time here was a great highlight of our trip, I can't recommend staying here strongly enough. Outstanding value for money and such care and attention to detail given to everything.
