only the weather, we were unlucky

This place is a hidden treasure ! I was traveling with my family and just needed a place overnight, but at the end we all wanted to stay more. Great atmosphere, great nature and super friendly people:) . The house is designed speicially for people with dogs, which was cool and the animals there made my kids very happy. Defininitely will come again, for more than just one day :)

Everything!! They were absolutely wonderful if you are a dog person. Could not have wished for a better place to spend a few days and see the area. Really excellent, evening meal was good too. Would highly recommend this establishment.

It's such a relief to travel with our much loved and travelled furry companions and be welcomed by a hotel where dogs can roam free (but safely) within the grounds. Oh and humans equally feel welcomed at this super-friendly homely hotel with its quirky heritage decor but with the luxury touches you look forward to, such as great hot shower and luxury towels.

There is a small stream in the grounds, which many dogs love but not so great for the humans when they shake! Fortunately they soon dry in the sun.

Upon arriving there was a very welcoming and accepting feeling from the moment the gates opened. There were dogs, Happy Dogs, running to greet the car, us and our little frenchies. As we entered the courtyard, which leads to the entrance of the lobby, there were a few people outside having a beer and talking with one another. I felt straight away that this is a place I will visit again (first impression). Come to realize, these were repeat customers and they were all super friendly. Miguel, the owner, was super chilled and showed us to our room. He gave us a small tour of the property and let us know how things work. Straight after, I went to grab a beer with my partner, meanwhile our dogs have been following us all around without a leash. What FREEDOM! As we sat in the courtyard, we got to meet the repeat guests and got to know everyone in a matter of minutes. Miguel partook in the conversation so he really displays his enjoyment in hospitality. Dinner was a home made meal by the cook, (Meme), and she was so friendly, attentive and served plent! Breakfast was self-serve with local cold cuts, cheeses, coffee, tea, juice, bread, some fresh fruit and Miguel served up some of his own baking (a total of 5 simple delicious cakes)! Advice I can give if you visit this property. You must be a dog lover to a certain extent. That is not the same as having or loving your dog. It is a good idea to understand animals and how they communicate with one another. So keep in mind, if you have a teacup chihuahua that has never been around other dogs, get informed and teach your pet first. Then you can go and really enjoy a disconnection from your day to day life. Thank you Miguel and Mirella for being great and open hosts and for your focus to detail. You make almost everything available for your guests to feel comfortable, welcome and like friends. Keep up the great work!!!

We were welcomed by a small pack of dogs when we arrived which, for us with three dogs, was brilliant, as this hotel is both dog and human friendly! Our room was beautiful with a sitting room and ensuite. Loved the fact that we could help ourselves to sherry, beer, wine, whatever, so long as we noted what we'd consumed in a book. Dinner was homely and delicious..

I loved that the dogs were free to roam and that nobody was uptight. There were lots of clean towels and a huge flat TV screen. The woman who attended to us was very friendly, but if you had any questions, you had to go looking around for somebody.

The room wasn't anything like what I saw in the photos. It was old and musty. There was a huge step-up to the bathroom and you had to go way into the bathroom to turn on the light. You couldn't go out the front door of the bedroom because it's not lockable on the outside. Instead, you had to go out a back door. Also, at night there was poor lighting in the back. The front door of the room had a huge gap on the bottom and it felt like the other guests could hear you. I thought there would be places to walk in the nearby forested area, but never found one.

Really lovely location. The room was so wonderfully decorated and very particular in general. I liked the host, the cook and all the dogs that welcomed us. Dogs wonder freely there and they are very sweet. I will definitely go back, if I will have a chance.

The room didn't have a lock.

Great breakfast. Fabulous interesting place, full of fascinating quirky objects. We will return.

Dinner was ok, but not wonderful. But a bit last minute. Booking.com did not accept my replies to forward our request for this.

Most welcoming people, loved the dogs, the food and the place. Gorgeous location, perfect for a quiet holiday.

They love dogs! Our pup loved the swimming pool SO much. Great not to have to worry about where he goes and what he does... real holiday. A general family feeling, a sense of trust

Breakfast pretty depressing especially if you’re a vegetarian! No fresh fruits.. also no healthy snacks or meal options at lunch (only packaged sandwiches and chips)
