Traveling 17 hours from jhb to houtbay is a long trip, and there no place to stay over that mean my needs. This is by far the best place to stay over and rest. 10 out of 10.

dinner and breakfast served in beautiful dining room with lovely fire. Excellent food, very friendly staff, thank you Brilliant for all your help, and beautiful surroundings - an oasis in the bush.

The dinner was delicious and enjoyed with a comfortable fire in both the dining room and lounge. We would return for the dinner alone.
The table was well set with crisp and clean linen .
The bed was comfortable with crisp and clean linen and even though there was load shedding the generator kept the tv and bedside lamps going till bedtime.

The bee hive outside the lounge area - one fell down on my scarf while I was walking past and I got stung when I took the scarf off. Fortunately I am not allergic - it would be good to warn guests.

great location for a stop off from n1. close enough to be convenient (5km) but far enough not to hear the road. lovely hotel with everything needed. comfy beds, modern bathrooms. friendly attentive service, tasty breakfast and dinner and option for lunch. open fires for the winter and pool for the warmer days. beautiful peaceful garden and walks with springbok, wildebeest, zebra, kudu. close to Karoo National Park.

My first stay had a bed makeup that was different from the second stay.. Room 3 was awesome while room 5 was not as good. both were good though.

They offered a 3 course Karoo experience but in fact it was a 2 course self service buffet. The food was good but I felt overpriced.

Really lovely guesthouse, and outstandingly helpful staff! Was met by a very courteous staffmember who showed me to my room and explained the set-up. I got the impression of a very professionally managed outfit. Was a great experience being there, including dinner in the evening. Recommend this place very highly. I will certainly be booking again there next time I pass that way.
(By the way, take the opportunity to take a drive up De Jagers Pass - just about half an hour away from the guest house - lovely.)

bathroom door does close properly and aircon didn’t work well
we booked in feb and asked for gluten free option for my son - dinner was a chri I breast and no effort made for Gluten free bread etc at all - seems they hadn’t bee told

Very comfortable settling and environment - dinner and breakfast both excellent. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The room and bed was very spacious and comfortable. The veranda is special spectacular panoramic views.
Cleanliness in the bathroom could have been better with emphasis on the taps which could do with a thorough clean!
