As usual it was a pleasure to stay in Sophia Hotel. The staff is outstanding and the room is great 👍🏻 there is hot water, AC and breakfast included. Super clean and comfy, Also the TV is working perfectly. We always stay here when coming to Dar, highly recommended!

Angestellte des Hauses super nett. Lage ebenfalls gut, da Restaurants, Shops, Fähre nach Zanzibar fußläufig erreichbar.
Im Zimmer selbst gab es eine Klimaanlage, welches die Nacht angenehm gestaltet hat. Bett, Bettzeug und Handtücher sauber.
Das Zimmer war wirklich alles andere als schön. Rundherum Fliesen, nur ein kleines Fenster im Ansonsten großen Raum. Alles etwas runtergekommen (Dicke Kalkablagerungen im Bad, Zimmer roch insgesamt etwas feucht/muffig). Ich reise oft relativ günstig durch Ostafrika (max ~25$/Nacht) wenn es nur für eine Nacht als Zwischenstopp dienen soll, aber in diesem Zimmer haben wir uns nicht wirklich wohl gefühlt. Würde nächstes Mal etwas anderes suchen

The second room they check us in was beautiful. It was small but cozy with a nice bathroom
The first room they booked us in on the third floor was not nice, the bed was uncomfortable and the beddings felt damp. The room was too big for nothing

Room without night tables or chairs or desks or anything to put your things. TV didn't have any working channels to watch. Lacking food or drinks to buy.

The hotel is very clean and centrally located. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, including the manager Fahad. The room was large. Breakfast was light and a fridge for guest was there as well, including access to a microwave.

I like the amenities such as bathtub, and smart tv. George was very kind and made sure our stay was pleasant. He also made sure we had a room with bathtub so we ended up staying an extra 2 days.

Sophia's location is excellent - right downtown in the middle of everything. The air-conditioning worked well. The space was large enough and clean. The wifi worked well. It was good enough for one night but I wouldn't stay longer.
Our reservation for two rooms was changed to a suite which meant only 1 bathroom for 4 people. There were no blankets, towels or a bottle of water provided. Even for a budget hotel, the breakfast was a little sparse.

its not a hostel, so dont expect socialising with other guests so much. More a laid back hotel atmosphere

The stairs, we were on the 4th floor and there is no lift. but they took our luggages to the room. I was just too tired to carry my own body to the room 😁😁

It's by far the best value centrally situated hotel in Dar.
Ok ,it ain't fancy or luxurious but it doesn't pretend to be.
It's ,clean,comfortable,with super staff and management .

I used the room for a brief time as had an early flight. The price for quality I would say is excellent and had my own suite with a lounge to sit and watch TV, which included netflix. Ali who works at reception is excellent, he helped with my airport transfer and is friendly and super helpful. I would definitely go again if in Dar Es Salaam.
This was not an issue for me, but there are lots of stairs if have mobility issues.

Nice Hotel . Room size is Good . WiFi and AC works very well.
Breakfast is very light but can’t complain for this price they offered the room.
Location - noisy sometimes bcoz of the main road . But again it can’t be complained for this price .
Shower was slow - but I should have asked for a help to fix it . But since I was out all days for work . No even thought of it until I go for shower .

Amazing value for money and the staff are really helpful. The room was huge with a fridge, kitchen area, TV with netflix and large bathroom. The hotel is close to an area with really nice Indian restaurants and shops.
Be aware of taxi drivers trying to tell you the hotel has a bad reputation and take you somewhere else!
