We couldn't recommend this place more. Our favourite overnight stay so far. From the moment we arrived like drowned rats, we were impressed by the owners' consideration and care. If you stay here, you must have a home cooked meal! We didn't really want to leave (but Scotland was calling. . . ).
Having to get on our bikes and cycle away

We had been staying in a number of pubs/hotels travelling around the country. The Clerk Laithe Lodge was something completely different. The lodge is quite remote, with the nearest village (which has a pub we didnt use) about a half mile away. At the time we went we were the only guests and Matthew and Helena made us very welcome, ensuring we had a perfect stay. The food which we had pre-ordered was gorgeous (we did remember to bring our own wine). I had Chicken in blue cheese sauce and my wife a huge Lancashire hot pot. The room we stayed in was large and comfortable with one of the biggest beds I've ever seen. We didn't do justice to the breakfast the following day which had anything you may want.

Despite the poor weather the location was great with what (with no rain) would have been amazing views. Matthew and Helena were very welcoming, with Helena cooking a superb evening meal and excellent cooked to order breakfasts (both from very very good and varied menus). Matthew was extremely helpful, arranging taxis, assisting my husband who has walking difficulties with our luggage and escorting us to out taxi in pouring rain with his umbrella.

The distance was a bit far from Clitheroe wedding venue we came for. This can't be helped though!!!

The lodge was set just outside a small village on the middle of amazing countryside. The rooms were well furnished and comfortable, with lots of personal touches. The host was very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. The coked breakfast was as good as I have had for a long time, using quality local produce.
The external appearance was a little bit unfinished, but once inside the rooms were good.

Hosts were very welcoming and nothing appeared to be too much for them. Excellent breakfast, with a wide choice - the local yoghurt with fresh fruit was delicious. The room was spacious and clean. We spent four glorious day walking in the area which is beautiful. Would not hesitate to stay again when we need to be in Lancashire.

Good breakfast,comfortable and large room, the property is in a lovely location with views over the village. Host friendly and helpful.

The location of the B&B was fantastic and had nice valley views. The B&B itself was lovely. Host was very nice and made us feel very welcome. Chatty and enjoyed telling us about locality. Restaurant was closed when we arrived and we hadn't pre-booked a meal but the host was very happy to make us some beautiful sandwiches. Breakfast was fantastic and plenty of it with unlimited fruit juice and coffee. Room was very pleasing with a wonderful en-suite. Bed was very comfortable.
There was nothing that I didn't like about my stay and I would recommend to anyone wanting a stay.

The room was a good size and the easy access to the outside patio would have been idyllic on a summer day. Very friendly and down to earth hosts. Fantastic home cooked food.
